Ghagar Buri Chandi Mata Temple

This is one of the most famous temples in Asansol named as Ghagar Buri Chandi Mata Temple. This is situated by the High road (by pass) towards Chittaranjan at a 5 mins driving distance from Kalipahari more. This holy temple is greatly worshipped by the devotees where Ma chandi is present in the form of three red stones (Shila) with eyes on that. The entire area is quite neat and clean and peaceful. The temple has a wide open surrounding area where many other temples are also present. It is also very popular for offering pujas at the purchase of any new vehicle. The river Nunia flows by the side of the holy temple but that lost its glory due to the accumulation of garbage all along the river. So, the area to visit the river is restricted. However, during the monsoon, there is a natural little waterfall made on this river.

Very nice temple to visit the puja system is very good the line system is taking your test of patience after that you feel peace most recommended temple to visit if you come by road the temple is beside highway of asansol.

Very clean campus. It was about 6:30pm when we visited and the mandir was about to close for the day. There were hardly 5/6 people at that time. Had very good view of Mata Chandi and had ample time for prayer. Very good experience.

Amazing temple,usually temple is very crowded,suggest to go to the temple at early in the morning,environment of the temple is very beautiful,management system is also very nice,everyone like this temple very much.awesome experience.

It was a great experience though after so many days. It has proper parking lot, water supply, hassle free everything. Mamdir approx opens at 7:00 am.

one of the famous holy places of asansol. one can reach there by hiring Auto-rickshaw, Toto, cab from asansol station or bus stand. One can also drive-by to the place. lots of open places available for parking. It is situated beside the national highway. it becomes crowded on Tuesday, Saturday and some auspicious days. Lots of shops are available for puja items. A few food shops are there mostly preparing puri sabji. A collection of other temples are also available in the vicinity of the Chandi mata temple.

This temple is under construction now a days due to some issues.
So you can give Puja where we make our line at that room .
After that it takes upto 15 minutes in queue and approximately 10 minutes for Puja.
It is located in left side of National Highway - 2 .
Normal Prasad cost - ₹ 55 rupees
Prasad with chuni and some more things cost - ₹ 290
I prefer this Store because it is close to temple and you can get the best service here. Park you car or bike and then remove the foot wear then wash your hands and then take the Prasad and then do the Puja and after pay the money.
I prefer you to go to this store it's probably the best among all of them.

Ghaghar Burhi is a temple dedicated to Goddess Chandi Mata. It is the oldest temple of Asansol. Ghagormata is one of the forms of Devi Kali just like other her forms. The temple remains open from morning 6:30 AM to 6 PM. The temple was established in the year 1620 by Atul Prasad Chakraborty. There are many shops outside the temple that sell items required for puja. The grace of Gagharburi Mata attracts many devotees every day.
The idol of Goddess Ghagar Buri is established in the form of a Pindi which is adorned with silver ornaments. The place is well-connected by road with all the major places of West Bengal. Asansol Junction is the nearest railway station.

The temple is very beautiful and the way the puja is conducted is divine in every aspect. Many years ago a priest by the name of Kangali Charon Chakraborty used to live in the place. He used to toil hard to earn his living. He used to cross the Nunia River to worship in the adjacent village.

I visited Ghagharburi Chandi Mata Mandir, one of the places of interest in Asansol.
The word ghaghar means ghungur or musical instrument. There is no idol here, there are only three rocks, the goddess Chandi has resided here. Shirnakaya Nuni river is flowing by the side.
There are many rumors about the mother's grace. This tea made in earthenware pot after tasting the famous tea here is great in taste. Like many tandoori teas.

As a child used to visit this revered shrine often. It was amazing to revisit. The place has changed a lot but the purohits seemed less greedy here.
