Highly recommended place. Especially staff is very good.
Food prepared by Ajay bhaiya is yummy, proper home made food. Even in late night he cooks food for you. Ravi bhaiya is very helpful and sweet. Priya didi welcomes with the smile and arrange everything very nicely. You can see ganga Maiya ( river)from terrace It's near from all the ghats. I feel this place gives you proper feeling of staying in Banaras.

Highly recommend. The staff are lovely and very friendly. Their chai is super, and the location is great for exploring the whole of the ghat. The rooftop is great for yoga practice in the mornings, and the AC was working! Which was a blessing in the august heat and humidity.
I traveled with a friend, but I would also recommend as a solo women. The staff are very kind.

I recently stayed at the Vishnu Rest House for 5 days and had an amazing time. The hotel staff, particularly helper Ajay, was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. The view from the hotel was breathtaking and truly unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Varanasi particular on the Ghat near to mother Ganga.

I'm staying in this guest house since 2010, to me is like home. I love the staff, the view from the terrace, the simple and clean rooms. The prices of the rooms are affordable in a fast changing and more expensive Varanasi. A shanti guest house. I just love it! ♥

I lived in Varanasi for a long time and often brought friends to stay here, but this was the first time I stayed here myself: I was impressed! It is a budget accommodation, but they have done the most basic upgrades to make the rooms feel comfortable and as clean as you can hope for at this price point. Not only do they have one of the best locations above Pandey Ghat and Ganga ji, but they have a fabulous amount of outdoor space and a living temple. Upstairs there is a slightly more private and clean terrace that is ideal for morning yoga. There's even enough space for up to10 mats depending on how you arrange them, in case a group of friends came who like to practice together. I was doing some remote work while here, as were several other guests, and the internet is reliable. The manager, Priya, is a consummate professional who made our stay as enjoyable as possible and Ajay bhaiya was always friendly and helpful.
Getting there might be difficult for newcomers. Take an auto to Sonarpura or Madanpura, then walk in the gullies and ask people for Pandey Ghat. You'll walk through a passage way across from Nice Cafe, then all the way back, then left, past a wonderful tree and water buffalo pen; then you'll see the blue gate of Vishnu Rest House straight ahead, next to some stairs leading to Ganga ji.
This place is a throw-back and I'd happily stay again.

Lord Vishnu Guest House is clean and safe guesthouse in a great location. The Family is really nice and super helpful. Front rooms have a view of the Ganges river. We escaped there after a few days in a busier guest house and were pleased with the rooms and family atmosphere of the place. Loved our basic room which had everything we needed. Would recommend everyone who seeks a clean simple guest house. The place has an early curfew which, in addition to adding to the safety we felt in the place, allowing to spend quite evenings in the beautiful courtyard. Would definitely come back.

Excellent stay. The view is insane, the service is great and on top of that they even let homeless people spend the night in the yard sometimes. Great place, run by great people :)

Helpful and friendly host family really makes it. The rooms are spartan, but everything worked including WiFi and hot water . We were in the end room on first floor, right above reception, with river view. This may be the nicest room, at least in winter, in summer it may be too hot. And it's on top of the WiFi router. Guesthouse has convenient location, although a fair way from any road, you can wiggle a bike through though.
The balcony is good for picnics and laundry, but you have to be careful to put everything more than a monkey arm length from the wire mesh. I don't know why the monkey took my pants, but the hosts recovered them. Little courtyard can be nice to sit in. Rooftop is bare, but ok for evening yoga.
No food, but good cheap cafes nearby.
Although WiFi was good, onward connection to Internet was awful in peak times, but same by other links, so it's a city problem, not the guesthouse. Ditto the frequent power cuts: the guesthouse has battery backup for essentials.

Very clean room with a balcony overlooking the Ganges. Set in the oldest and most ancient part of Varanasi. The streets are more or less the same as a few thousand years ago. Lord Shiva and The Buddha once walked these streets. Very friendly and helpful family runs the place. Air-conditioning is Good. Finding the place from the main road may a little difficult as you have to negotiate a labyrinth of narrow streets. Over all a very peaceful uplifting and rewarding experience for me.

We are a group of 15 people staying here during our 2 days permanence at Varanasi. We loved this place, one of the most clean we found around India. It is located 100m from ghat, allowing for nice walks at sunrise and sunsets. Thè guys are super nice and helped us a lot during our staying. On the back of the hostel there is also the famous Brown bread Bakery from Lonely Planet. Very suggested!

Praveen is a proactive person he doesn't behave Iike he owns that place..and the staff is great..they will give you a feeling of home. The staff does not behave like a the typical hotel staff..you will feel like you are living in someone's house.. someone who is hospitable and a great host. Whenever I will visit Banaras I will checkin here.

I was quite sceptical before booking Vishnu Guest House but it turned out to be my favorite & best choice on my trip to Varanasi. Located right on the ghats i.e. Pandey Ghat this makes quite convenient to just checkin, climb down the stairs & there you are on the holy ghats of Varanasi. Boasting rooms which are clean, linens & toiletries provided, we took the room with balcony ( we upgraded tho ). Our rooms could directly face the ghats from where we experienced sunrise & sunsets. Otherwise outside every room there's a common sitting area with rock chairs & table where you can see the ghats or fly kites if you know to. The cafeteria of Vishnu Rest House is best to have some tea & pakoda as it again offers ghat view of holy Ganges which will give you a divine peace on every sip. The staffs are really good & familiar & will help you anytime anyday.

Dashwamedh Ghat was 3 min walk from Pandey Ghat & Assi Ghat was 15-20 min walking and trust me each and every ghat is walkable from it and it makes it one of the best booking for your visit.

Can't wait to visit it again.
