Golden River B&B guest House

Stayed 25-27 August 2023 with my mother. Decent good rooms. Very polite staff. Staff is a true resemblance of Varanasi. He wants people to take home postive opinion about the city and his hotel. After 4 months of my visit I've come back to Google Maps to find the place and attach a positive review.

I couldn't ask for a better location or level of friendliness. Everything functioned well, and the staff was so acomodating and helpful. I was able to speak to them to tailor my day tours or half-day trips, based on my needs. The view of the river is lovely, but not as lovely as the people working there. This is an extremely good value for the money. Also it is very quiet even though it is in the oldest part of town and the ghats. Nearest ghat is Shivala Ghat.

Overall great experience. Arrived at 4am and they let us stay in a room for half the price. The staff were accomodating. Helped us with the Ganges boat tour and showed us around Varanasi. The rooms were cleaner than the Indian standards. Near local restaurants. Stayed 2 nights and would stay here again. The breakfast was good.

If you are used to India then the rooms are really ok.
The staff and owners are helpful, friendly and polite. Flexible in for example extending our stay, giving extra blankets, upgrading the room etc.
Worth mentioning:
*Good pickup service from airport or train station.
*Nice rooftop terrace with view on Ganga
*Good location, if you are ok with walking through authentic little streets it is really great

Overall had a nice and pleasant stay with family. Situated near the Shivala Ghat, this property has all the amenities mentioned at the time of booking. The staff was polite and very helpful and served with a smile. They arranged nice food and also provided nice transfer to and from Varanasi Junction. Also, they had arranged a nice tour with Rajkumar who made the entire tour of Varanasi a very memorable one. Would recomment this place!

The service was very friendly, they helped us with everything we needed, they even helped us manage a sim card. In addition, one of us is celiac, and they took care to give us gluten-free breakfast and dinner. The area is calmer than the center. If I came back, I will repeat again for sure. Pankaj and all the staff is cool!!

Very good place. 2 minutes from Ganga river and one of the temples, close to the Assi Ghat, where ceremonies are held every day. Very responsive staff. I arrived earlier than the check-in time and I didn’t have cash with me, I wanted to leave my suitcase and go look for an ATM, but they gave me a room and said that I can take a shower and rest after the road, and pay later. In the morning they brought breakfast to my room according to my preference. I also used the services of a transfer and a guide. Very good prices and everything was on time. I was completely satisfied!

Best accomodation we had in India. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They helped us with everything we wanted to do and charged us only the local price.
We did not feel like tourists, but rather than family members, when we watched how our food was cooked. And it tasted delicious.
The rooms are really nice and clean.

Very helpful staff. They will get you anything, are always making sure you are in good hands, are looking out for you and will explain everything about the culture and the surroundings if you like. Really loved staying here, everybody was very welcoming. We will come back for sure!

I loved this hotel. I booked from Booking.com. This is near to Shivala ghat which is near to Assighat. The prices are so reasonable. Really neeraj ji is so helpful person that he would help you to visit benaras in reasonable prices. You can see Ganga ji from roof of the hotel. Hotel has balcony too… the auto or toto would directly reach hotel you don’t need to walk. Near to road also like walking distance of 2-3 min and ganga ghat is also at walking distance of maximum 5 min. You can take pickup facilities from the hotel that is cheaper
than local auto toto at station. Breakfast is also available at extra charge.

We stayed with Neeraj and his family for 4 nights and everything was just perfect! We felt like home from the first minute and Neeraj was always happy to help us. The house and the rooms are very clean, additionally the location is very good to explore the city and the ghats.

This place is very close to the Ganges river, rooms are amazing clean and confortable. its owner is a wonderful guy, he always is trying to help you and giving you good advisers about the touristic places, shops and restaurants. This place is high recommended.
