Kedar Guest House

I have arranged trip to Varanasi from Vadodara for my senior citizen parents and was very tensed as they were new to city and how would they manage to travel. I have arranged everything for them except hotel as it was devdiwali season and all the rates were too high. I then booked room in Kedar guest house and believe me owner is awsome person he is too polite and helped in all the way he can. He provided room on 1st floor so my parents dont need to climb much stairs. On arrival they were unable to get the location so he personally came and picked them. Pandey ji ne hume bol dia tha app tension na le hum apke parents ka khyal rakhlege...and I am so happy my parents trip went well in Varanasi..Rooms were very hygiene and clean..First I was tensed as in review it was written that hotel is so inside the street need to walk and all but there was no such issue. Local riskhaw can be easily access from the hotel. location is beautiful near to Assi ghat and rikshaw can be easily access for Kashi and all Ghats..Over all perfect stay

Rooms were very clean well maintained. More than that we had a pleasant stay because of Virendraji , owner of the property. He shares so many experiences of his from kashi and history of all places. You feel a lot like a family with him. Thanks 🙏

I am Rating 5 because owner is deserve for , his place kedar guest house is little bit (5min walking) in side close to Assi ghat , very clean , specious and more important is friendly behavior of owner.
Good for family and youngsters.

As an individual that stayed in this guest house, it was an absolute pleasure to make an acquaintance with the staff of this workplace. Hospitality with work efficiency isnt easy to be found as a traveller everywhere.
The rooms were clean, the food was homemade and served warm, the living cost was also very cheap compared to the facilities they provided in comparison to other competitors.
It was a great experience and I would also like to recommend others to stay here.

Kedar Guest House is an hidden gem in the heart of Varanasi.

Before finding this lovely place, I was staying in a nasty hotel (some places call themself guesthouse even if they're just hotels), but after one night I ran away because they made me sick with their food.

Virendra and his lovely wife Chayia gave me a warm place where to rest, and they took care of me, giving me hospitality and food to get better. They really treated me as part of family, instead of a simple client, and they do that with every guest that comes to their home.

The guesthouse itself is located 2 minutes by walk to Assi Ghat, one of the most peaceful places in Varanasi. They have many different kinds of room, from small budget backpackers like me to fully comfort rooms.
The place is always really clean, and a great breakfast from Chayia is included in the price of the room, every day she will cook you a different dish! She's and amazing cook, and if you want you can also enjoy her tasty thali every dinner, that's what I did every everning.
They also have free wifi working in every floor, one of the best that I've found in India!
Virendra will help you with every kind of needs, from tuk tuk, to suggestions for art and music lessons, to massages in the guesthouse, and also for really good talking time drinking chai :)

I really felt at home in Kedar Guest House, that's why I decided to stay longer, and finally I have a place to call HOME when I will come back to the amazing Varanasi next time.

I was pleased with availing this guest house. The location is in the middle of Lanka and Assi Ghat, and visitors can easily go for a walk.
The family of Receptionists is very polite and cooperative.

The rooms are clean and spacious. The couple's hospitality is commendable. The location is a 5min walk from Assi ghat, and the room price is very reasonable.

Location is convenient and the rooms are clean and reasonably priced. Plus you get a tasty breakfast! Stay here if you want a genuine homestay experience with a lovely family.

Kedar Guest House is excellent. The location is perfect in a quiet surrounding, near to the Assi Ghat. The room is very cosy and clean. AC works perfectly. Above all the owners are super helpful and kind, they make you feel as one of their family. They helped us in everything: arrange transport, visits advice, getting sim card, money change... always at the best possible price. They explained us many interesting things about India and their culture. The food was very good and abundant.
If we come back to Varanasi for sure we will stay at Kedar Guest House. They made us feel at home!

The family that run this guesthouse are the nicest most genuine people I’ve come across in two months in India. Room was spacious, hot water at all times (just had to turn it on) and super quiet residential area. Only a five minute walk to Assi Ghat. Delicious Indian breakfast every morning. Stayed here for a week and the only downside was that the WiFi was really slow. Definitely recommend!

Nice staying here in Feb this year. Both the hosts were welcoming and cheerful. Had made lunch for us when we arrived which was unexpected. Also, breakfast next morning was amazing. Although we spent a little time there, but it was a quality time as the owner had nice chat with me and my mother and also the other guests. He was helpful throughout our stay and even when we left the hotel. His advice helped me when i was having diarrhoea and I was completely fine for the train journey next morning. Thank you for such a warm welcome. Varanasi will always be remembered with the hospitality that veerendra ji had offered us during our stay.

This was my first time in Varanasi and the experience in this guest house made the experience safe and enjoyable. The couple who owns the guesthouse become like a family in a matter of days - with their honest and frank interactions, their helpful attitude, and their willingness to make the guests stay as comfortable as possible. The guest house is very basic in terms of its services, but neat and clean, safe and pleasant. The food cooked at home is simple yet clean and reliable. The owner gives all the necessary logistical support to get around the city, gives useful tips to tourists and this helps a lot!

Kedar Guesthouse is a warm at heart, welcoming Guesthouse. The rooms are nice and clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. In fact it feels like you are invited into the family, and become a part of the place yourself. I found it a great way to stay in Varanasi. The environment is sociable and it is easy to meet people here. The owner gives yoga classes on the rooftop every morning. There is homecooked food for breakfast and dinner, and they have a pickup service from the trainstation which works at any hour of the day, I can only recommend this place!!

Awesome guesthouse in a village-like area 5 min walk from Assi Ghat. The room was clean and there is always hot water for shower. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and have a lot of stories to tell.

The breakfast is included and taking it downstairs is a good way to connect with the other guests.

Assi ghat area is perfect for a long stay: it is more peaceful than the main ghat area and there are a couple of good coffee shops and places to eat around.

If you are are looking for a true Guest house in Varanasi the n Kedar Guest house is the place! You will get treated like part of the family. Virendra and Chhaya are a young couple with three lovely children, Virendra Is a veritable scholar and excellent host. He will give you information about the local area and facilities and having grown up in the Gurukul systems knowledgeable on all things from Yoga, Sanskrit, Ayurveda etc. Chhaya cooks the most delicious meals. If you want to taste some real India home cooking she has an endless variety of meals cooked fresh each day (she also has a diploma in food studies from BHU). Breakfast is included with your room. Good indian food from a clean kitchen us hard to find at Assi Ghat so we took most of our meals in the guest house.

The guesthouse itself is located in the quiet suburbs only a few minutes by walk to the bustling Assi Ghat. The rooms are clean and there plenty of hot water and the WiFi works well. But what makes this place special is the people, both the Hosts and the guests. I will definitely stay here next time.

I came to Varanasi for academic work at BHU, and when i was searching for suitable accommodation near BHU there were many and I chose Kedar Guest House because of the most positive reviews it has got. Luckily I got a room in it as it is busy always. I opted for single room, it was neat and clean with continuous internet connectivity and at a cheaper rate that too in tourist place like Varanasi. Being from South India I always had a fear travelling alone to North but I felt this place as my home, also Mr. Virendra and his family was pleasant with me and I got to eat some of the tastier North Indian foods made by them. I am suggesting this place for people who need a calm and homely environment away from their home.
