The 16th century temple of Lord Shiva, known as the Mandhata Baba Temple, was built by Balram Deo, the first king of Sambalpur. Turtles are the main attraction of this pond spread over an area of ​​more than one and a half acres. This is a unique example of conservation of turtles.

It is a lord shiva temple. And it's one of the oldest temples of sambalpur. I've been there many times in my childhood. The main attraction of this temple is those huge turtles living inside the pool of water beside the temple. I've fed them many times by hand. They are so friendly like those fishes from dhama temple.

A beautiful and peaceful temple where one can also see very big size turtles..it is within 7 or 8 km from sambalpur.
