Gudeswar Shiva Temple has situated On the bank of the Mahanadi river near village Durgapalli. It is around 7 km from Sambalpur town. The shape of this temple looks like Shiva's Linga. Lord Shiva is worshipped in this temple. Mahashivratri is the main festival of the temple, which attracts thousands of devotees. There is a Hanuman temple inside the Gudeswar Shiva Temple campus. Gudeswar Shiva Temple is one of the most ancient temples in Odisha.

The temple is not very well known but it is a must visit place.because In the temple the shivling is decorated every day in various avatar and the place is very peaceful very few people you can find there,but in the shiv ratri or in the seetal sharsti the place is very crowded by the local people and near the temple very big yagyna is done once in a year,near that temple lord shree ram foot print is present but it is always covered in mahanadi but it can be visible when the water level is low. Around the you can see very beautiful scenery and it is a very historic place.
