WMO Imam Gazzali Academy, the abode and destination of knowledge seekers in Kerala, is a reputed educational and research centre that provides both religious and secular studies for the growing Islamic generation. The institute stands high as a lighthouse guiding isolated and marginalized Muslim communities towards the right path since 1999. Imam Gazzali Academy has played a vital role in uplifting the marginalized Muslim community in the country over its 20 years of journey.
Academy focuses to mould Islamic scholars capable of leading the community socially, politically and internationally towards the desired goal and propagate peaceful messages of Islam by diverse means and ways among all sections of people. It also aims at providing authentic and scholarly leadership to assure the representation of the Muslim community in educational, cultural, social and political fields of the society and to become a centre of excellence, especially in Islamic thoughts.
The institution is owned and managed by Wayanad Muslim Orphanage and is affiliated with Jamia Nooriya Arabiyya Faizabad, Pattikkad. It also provides Alim al Gazzali degree along with a degree from a recognized government university. The institution has a vast campus with modern infrastructure facilities which provides a better study background for students. The courses are divided into preparatory, secondary and graduate levels. The academic year is divided into two semesters. One academic year comprises 240 working days. One week comprises six working days and one working day is divided into nine periods of 40 minutes.
The institution chooses the talented boys who passed the 5th standard of Madrassa (basic moral school) and the 7th standard of the school. It invites applications from eligible students and enrolls the students after rigorous entrance tests and interviews. Intellectual sessions, arts and sports meets are conducted at regular intervals to shape and sharpen the potentials of the students. In addition to these eminent scholars, academicians, legal and political experts, writers and trainers are invited to the campus to have interaction with the students.
The eight-year course of the academy is formed in three sections called departments. The first year is utilized for building a solid foundation in languages, humanities, communication skills and general awareness. The second phase is the junior section extending to four years In which the students go deep to the horizons of knowledge and skills. Three years are set aside for the senior section of the course in which the students become capable of handling different languages, propagating Islam as for the needs in the society. The organization also providing advanced modern computer labs and digital classrooms to generate a wider and deeper atmosphere of knowledge. As part of computer education, various diploma courses are offered to the students.
The students union of the institution named IGASA (imam Gazzali Academy Students Association) is a creature platform that actively works to enrich the multi-faceted talents and potentials of the students. It undertakes various activities including literary meet, debates, discussions, seminar presentations, the publication of magazines, etc. Imam Gazzali Academy has a comprehensive library enriched by books of Tafseer, Hadeeth, Science, Arts, Literature, so on. The library also provides a unique reading experience to students.
The institution has gained many achievements over its 20 years of service. It could contribute to the society's highly talented and qualified pool of orators, trainers and propagators with international acceptance. Gazzali graduates outperform in various universities in and outside India. After the successful completion of the course, many students undertake research and higher studies in reputed universities in India and many other countries. A great number of Gazzalies work in the government sector, reputed Islamic universities and colleges, undertake Mahallu administration, lead different voluntary organizations, serve as trainers,
