Bathu Temple or popularly known as "Bathu ki Ladi ". Ladi means a chain as the temples are placed in a chain format, is situated in Kangra District within the Pong Dam. It is reachable via Dhameta, Jawali and other neighbouring areas.

The visiting months are from April to June. The temples are undoubtedly a marvel of fine architecture as it is believed they have been made during the time of Pandavas ! The staircase that is believed to lead one to heaven still exists, though some of it has been damaged. They are made of a particular stone called "Bathu" which has left the temple in almost perfect condition even after being submerged in the dam for 8 months every year. Mini boats can be taken to reach the temple if you spot some water at your visit. The temples are a beauty and are in pristine condition. Some are a bit damaged but the whole experience of visiting covers it all. You would also find a stall or two selling lemon soda and icecreams as it gets quite hot and sometimes the warm wind "loo" blows.

It is definitely a must visit, if you're visiting Himachal during April to June. It's situated a bit far from main stations of Dhameta and Jawali but they are undoubtedly a must visit historical marvel.

Do visit to experience the beauty of this place. It's accessible only 2-3 months in a year. Take umbrella or any other type of stuff to protect urself from heat. It will be too hot in the sun. Mobile phones behave strange. Ghost 👻 like feelings. Doesn't work properly. No joke👍😅

Bathu temples known locally as Bathu ki ladi is a cluster of temples in the Kangra district of state of Himachal Pradesh, with the main temple dedicated to goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. These temples were submerged in Maharana Pratap Sagar, a reservoir created by Pong dam in the early 1970s. Since then, these temples are only accessible from May to June when the water level decreases. The temples are accessible by boat from Dhameta and Nagrota Surian and accessible by road from Jawali.
A must visit place when you're around....accessible during the month of March to May.
The boat will take you to the temple from the banks and bring you back to the same place. The charges for boat ride is ₹100/person.I suggest you to carry an umbrella with you because sun is hot over there and boats don't have any shade or roof.

Ruins of old temples.. How old these are, it's clearly not known..
But the locals say that these temples built by Pandavas,

Whoever built them, are the Masterpiece of architecture..
All get submerged in pong dam during monsoon season (end of July) till January or so.. Best time to visit Feb to July (recommend) as before this time one has to face mud along the track..
Pls follow the track while driving..
No amenities are available, not even water... So always carry sufficient amount of stuff.
Good place for picnic as well as for camping..
Highly recommended for camping if you are looking for real adventure during night...

Overall RECOMMENDED...

A very beautiful place to visit. It's a Lord Shiva Temple and according to common local belief, it was built by local king. Other beliefs say that temple was built by Pandavas.

Beautiful Hindu heritage with breathtaking view. Once there m sure u wud leave a piece of your heart there if u r a nature lover😍. What makes this temple all the more beautiful is the ancient history behind this temple and the rock solid architecture which was made during the exile years of Pandavas. Standing tall all these years, submerged in water most of the months, the architecture is just commendable. Must must must visit place if ur in Himachal.

A good place to hangout during April to June.

Pros

Witnesses Ancient Marvel: Take a look at the architecture and creation of our ancestors. Know the history and other things related to the temples.

Parking: If you're worried about parking then take a chill pill. There's a huge area to park your vehicle in Bathu ki Ladi.

Cons

Road: Difficult to reach if you have a low ground clearance vehicle. When you'll enter into the lake area, there's is no proper road so you can find issues while driving. Remember, you need to drive 3-4 kms in such area.

No food trucks or vendors: You'll get only icecreams and Pakoras. So carry your own food items and bring back the waste wrappers and plastic material with yourself to dispose.

Heat Wave: Suggested to use sunglasses as you'll get a heat waves there. The area is adjacent to Punjab so you can feel high temperature.

Different Charges

Boat Charges: Rs. 50 per person
Mineral Water: Rs. 30
Parking Charges: Nil

Awsm place at HP-Kangra-Jawali-Guglara village.. totally peace of mind and nature of beauty. The temple comes out of the water once in a year in the month of April to June. Rest ot the time disappears in the deep water of Pong lake. As per the dant katha, This temple was made by the Pandvas at the time of Mahabharata in one night at the time of Banvas. Local called it was Thakurdwara, at present Loard Shiva (Shivling) sthapit in the main temple. The HP Govt. Should develop and mantian the this historical and holy place before it's too late. Every year thousand of tourist comes at this historical place and many punjabi songs shooting has been done at this place.👍🇮🇳🥰

In the middle of the heart of the city. Most of the workers coming from other states of India for employment usually assemble here to meet each other and spent time. In between the world famous bathu ki ladi temple, this temple spend 8 months under water and 4 months when level of water decrease in time of June or July month, Then it comes to the water level. And open for tourists,

This place is a must watch irrespective of one's releigius affiliation. The scenic beauty of the place is mesmerizing.

A stretch of almost a kilometer may have mudroads to no roads, except dirt track after the concrete road ends. However, the view on reaching this place is worth the effort and slight discomfort.

Right from the mix of clear water and muddy water expanding way beyond where naked eyes can see, to the rock structure temples that must have been painstakingly put together many many centuries back....everything is worth watching

To top it all, the peaceful ambience as not many tourists seem to come here

Check thr time of the year to visit as when the water level increases, the temples and most of accessible areas get submerged under water.

We went is June and we could see everything.

May and June seem to be the right time to visit.
