Kattil Mekkathil Devi Temple, nestled in the tranquil village of Panmana, Chavara, Kerala, stands as a symbol of devotion and architectural splendor. Dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy, it exudes an aura of spirituality and cultural richness. The temple's serene ambiance, surrounded by lush greenery, provides a sanctuary for devotees seeking solace and blessings. Its unique feature, a banyan tree adorned with hundreds of bells, resonates with melodious hymns, echoing prayers to the divine. The temple's rock-cut architecture adds to its allure, with the sanctum sanctorum hewn out of a single rock, symbolizing the eternal presence of the goddess. Throughout the year, devotees throng to partake in various rituals and festivals, such as the vibrant Mekkathil Pooram, a celebration filled with color, music, and devotion. Kattil Mekkathil Devi Temple stands as a testament to Kerala's rich cultural heritage and serves as a sacred pilgrimage site where faith and tradition converge, enriching the lives of all who visit.

Kattil Mekkathil Bhagavathy temple is located near Sankaramangalam of Kollam district, a few kilometres from Alappuzha-Kollam highway stretch. The temple is situated on a small isle between the backwaters and the Arabian sea. A free ferry sponsored by the temple is available to cross the small stretch of water. The place gets considerably hot during the summer season as the sand gets too hot during this time. Ample parking space is available at the jetty. Men should not wear lungi, shorts etc while entering the temple, as usual custom in all Kerala temples. An interesting fact is that women with untied hair are not allowed entry to the temple. Here there is a banyan tree (Arayal) on which devotees tie brass bells to fulfill their wishes. The temple is hardly 10-15 metres from the sea, but was miraculously saved during the 2004 tsunami.

One of the famous temple of kerala which is next to coastal line. Lot of people visit this temple throughout the year. It's famous for Manikett (a small bell which is tied to peepal's tree which is next to the temple. It is known that if a devotee ties the bell consecutively for 7 times in a row his dream will be full filled by the goddess(Manakkattu Devi).) The goddess Bhuvaneswari devi is considered to be very power full.
