Enchanting peace and bliss!! Very beautiful temple with amazingly intricate art filled structure. We were lucky to be there when it was not crowded so we even got to get inside the garbh griha!! What and experience. Jai Galteshwar Mahadev!!

The temple is associated with Galav, the Rishi from Puranas and a devoted king Chandrahas from Hindu mythology.

The temple is the Monument of National Importance (N-GJ-144) protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

The shikhara as well as the mandapa of the temple collapsed in 1908.The restoration of shikhara was completed by ASI in September 2021.

This temple was so good. It is thousands of year old. The temple's land was so cold even at the afternoon. A river is flowing from the down the temple. There is a shivling down there. You can donate there ghee also if You want to. Must visit once.

Galteshwer is approximately 15 kms. from Dakor. If you are traveling from Ahmedabad or Vadodara, the road patch of around 5 kms. is not good near Dakor bypass.
The place is amazing. It's Solanki era 12th century architecture. Very divine place. Situated at bank of Mahisagar river.
Wonderful place for half day picnic.

Must visit place when you are India then average age of mandir are around 1000 years old when go back to dacor ji then there is place called sita kund it's also a must visit place

This place is so beautiful, mother nature at it's best, the waterfall, river, and most importantly over 900 years ago situated shiv temple, the peace inside the temple is incredible, everyone should visit this place, but plz visit this beautiful place on weekdays not at weekends coz at weekends u won't find that peace coz of overcrowded atmosphere. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I recently had the privilege of visiting the Galteshvar Mahadev Temple near the Mahi River, and it was an awe-inspiring experience. The temple's unique architectural style, a mesmerizing blend of Nirandhara and Saptaratha Bhumija, immediately caught my attention. The central latina structure gracefully tapers from all sides, adorned with intricate spires that add to its grandeur.The temple's historical significance is evident in every detail. Crafted from sandstone, it boasts a garbhagriha and a mandapa featuring an enchanting eastern porch. The sanctum's circular exterior seamlessly transitions to a square inner layout with its remarkable eight Bhadras, creating an exceptional spiritual space.
What truly amazed me was the meticulous ornamentation adorning the entrance and walls. The profusely ornamented doorway and intricate figural decorations are a testament to the artistry of the Solanki style of Guajarati architecture, dating back to the late 12th century CE.
The temple's location near the sangam of the Galta/Galti and Mahi rivers adds to its allure. The serene rivers flow gently through the rocky plateau, forming a tranquil backdrop that enhances the spiritual experience. Taking a dip in the holy sangam is a cherished tradition, made even more inviting by the shallow waters.
I must mention that the recent reconstruction of the broken Shikhara in 2020-21 demonstrates the dedication to preserving this cultural gem. Visiting the Galteshvar Mahadev Temple was not just a journey through history but a profound connection with spirituality and natural beauty. Har Har Mahadev! A historical place of Lord Shiva...Enjoy the Mahi river snan!! Awesome!! A nearby place of Dakor.

This is a nirandhara type of Saptaratha Bhumija style temple, of a regional variety, characterised by a central latina tapering from all sides, with minor spires decorating the central spire, It was built by using sand stone, comprises a garbhagriha and a mandapa with an eastern porch. The Shikhara was damaged. The sanctum is roughly circular outside while squarish in inner side. It has an exceptional plan of eight Bhadras. The mandapa is supported by eight inner pillars and sixteen outer smaller pillars. The doorway is profusely ornamented while walls having usual figural and decorative ornamentations. Stylistically, the temple belongs to the Solanki style of Guajarati architecture and datable to the late 12" century CE. The broken Shikhara was reconstructed in 2020-21.
now this temple is situated near the *sangam* of two rivers named galta/galti and mahi rivers.
the rivers flow through the rocky plateau. the waters are shallow so it is not risky to take a dip into the river as it is considered holy to take a dip into the sangam.

Energatic place... In garbhagruha you will get a positive energy and peace... Very ancient place. Locals are very honest and nice people.

It’s a very good mandir of Mahadev Ji, along the bank of Mahi River. You can take a meditative dip in the river while you enjoy peace of the temple. Strictly not recommended visiting on a holiday if you want to have a peaceful and quality time. There is paid parking facility. And from there a few meters of walk to the temple. During the walk you will see lots of stalls and stores. So if you want to have a snack after the darshan, you can have it there. Recommended temple to visit nearby Ahmedabad. You can have a day trip here, there’s also Ranchodrao Ji Temple in Dakor nearby and Meladi Mata Mandir which you can visit. The enjoyment would be doubled if the weather is nice.

Beautiful Temple with ancient architecture style. Parking is also available. Situated near Mahisagar River bank. No entry fees. Parking is 30rs for 4 wheeler. You'll have to walk some 300-400m from parking spot. Best time to visit is sunrise or sunset time. Lot of shops for food and craft items.

This place is very beautiful, The Lord Shiva Temple is here, it is very old and you can find very rare sculptures here.
