Amma Mandapam

A place of great importance both in history and holiness. Unfortunately no efforts have been made to ensure cleanliness of the complex and perennial water availability for the holy bath. It will be a great disappointment to pilgrims visiting this place from far off places. A narrow water channel ( or pipeline) may be provided from Mukkombu to make sure perennial water availability at the bathing ghat. A separate complex preferably in the downstream may be established for Punya (கருமாதி) rituals.

Divine place. But the river cauvery is most polluted here. Govt should take steps to clear the old clothes. It looks so bad so so bad. That you cannot get down in the river there. Looks like a drainage there. It is distressing to see a God's place so left uncared..

AMMA MANDAPAM (அம்மா மண்டபம்) is in Sri Rangam, Trichy. This is approximately 2 km from Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, Sri Rangam and one can reach here through Sri Rangam or by Mambazhasalai from Cauvery Bridge. This is the place where Cauvery runs from Kodumudi, Karur, Kuzhithalai, Sri Rangam and then to Thanjavur delta, Kumbakonam Chidambaram and finally into the Bay of Bengal ocean.

This is a place where people take bath before getting into Sri Rangam Ranganathar Temple or Thiruvanaikaval temple. Also, the ritual rite performed to ancestral forefathers (திதி தர்ப்பணம்) is also given at this place and doing this in the banks of River Cauvery is considered very sacred.

Separate Dress changing rooms and Toilet facilities are available for Ladies too.

Barbers are easily available to perform Tonsure and Shaving which is done before doing the ritual and Acharyas/Priests later complete the rest of the rituals.

After taking bath in the river, one can pray to Lord Sri Siddhi Vinayagar, Lord Sri Cauvery matha, Lord Sri Kasi Vishwanathar Sri Kasi Visalakshi, Lord Sri Vishnu Durga, and Lord Hanuman.

One can also give Sesbania grandiflra greens aka Agathi Keerai in tamil (அகத்தி கீரை) to the cows roaming in and around the mandapam and rendering such acts reduces all types of karma as per Sage Kanchi Maha Periyavar.

Good place but needs lot of maintenance. Ota every ones responsibility not only admins to keep the place and river clean. Safe place to take bath in cauvery among all padithurai. Could see people from 4 am itself

Place for a ritual. Better to go with a reference in case if you want to do a ritual or pooja. Mostly there are brokers around and they will take you to the purohit. Ideal is in case of anyone has no contact or reference then one should just walk in to the mandap and find a lot of purohit sat in a numberarised row and you can perform rituals. Request is to keep the river clean. So bad to step into the river as its so polluted and at every step inside water i had to keep my foot on some one's dress that was thrown away as karma.

Good place. If water is there we can enjoy but some time there is no water. Many peoples do their family rituals like thithi there.

For decades, we see the place under developed. So many facilities can be provided by the management like free dressing rooms for ladies, secluded places for their bathing, overhead showers for the needy, hot water, extended clean steps etc. . . Ok, still the place is holy for us.

Amma Mandapam is currently being used for dressing. There are no facilities like before. Also the lack of water in Cauvery and the work done by some people there is frowned upon.

Cool place for rendering pithru rights. Performing Pooja and divine dip in holy kaveri. God Renga's holy bath water is being taken from this mandap. People of India visits here to surrender to be the lotus feet of Lord Renga of Sri Rangam.

It's near Kaveri river, of Srirangagadyam. Every day morning 3.o clock elephant takes water from here to Srirangadu.
