Bala Fort was built by Hasan Khan Mewati in the 15th century. This fort is situated on the Aravalli Mountains above the city of Alwar.

The most special thing about this fort is that it has also been ruled by Marathas, Yadavs and Kachwaha Rajputs. Built on a hill 1000 feet high from the ground, this fort has a radius of about 6 miles.

Bala Fort in Alwar is a heritage site that has stood the test of time. The fort is perched atop a hill and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
The intricate architecture and the rich cultural history of the fort attract tourists from across the globe every year.

A small fort located at the mountain top in Aravali ranges. During the clear and good weather, you can get a nice and beautiful view of Alwar city down.

There is nothing much to see inside. There is a small temple and some nicely decorated walls and pillars. The photos of course come classic. They do provide open jeep safari to reach to the fort but if you have your own vehicle, I would suggest to just take your own vehicle. It is cheaper and better.

Amazing place to visit . Last ticket is available Upto 3.30 pm .
Try to get gypsy for safari and it’s worth . Fees is very less
Gypsy cost approx 2000 with guide for 4 ppl .
Bala fort is ok ok . Not much to see there
Karni Mata Mandir is also good place to visit .
There is a forest park outside and it’s worth trying it out
There is a paid parking near ticket counter . You can take your personal vehicle Upto Bala fort but I suggest Gypsy is best

My recent journey to the Alwar Fort, also known as Bala Quila, in Rajasthan was a remarkable experience. Driving up to the fort, located atop a hill in the Aravalli Range, offered breathtaking views that made the journey itself unforgettable. The fort's impressive size, spanning 5 kilometers in length and 1.5 kilometers in width, is a testament to its historical significance and architectural brilliance.

Its 15 large and 51 small towers, along with 446 musketry openings, are not just strategic but also enhance its majestic appearance. The view of Alwar city from the fort is simply mesmerizing, providing a perfect blend of nature and history. A visit to this fort is not just a trip to a historical site; it's a journey through the annals of time, offering insights into the region's glorious past.

For anyone interested in history, architecture, or just looking for an adventure, Alwar Fort is a must-visit destination. Its captivating beauty and the serene ambiance of the surrounding landscape make it a memorable experience.

What a beautiful location. Undergoing renovations, but worth the effort.
The drive from base to fort is excellent.
Wondering..why these historical places were missed till now. It has the potential of having a landmark in tourism in India.

Bala Fort/Quila also Known as Alwar Fort
A must visit place in in Alwar town. Not exactly in the town, just a twenty minute drive from the city. The location of the fort is inside the buffer zone of Sariska sanctuary. The best way to visit the fort and surrounding forest area is to use the gypsy safari. Cost is 1890 for a two hour ride and it is worth to the last cent. Sufficient parking is available outside the entry gate, park your vehicle there close your eyes and take the gypsy safari. Six people can seat comfortably in it. The Safari Includes fort visit,a ancient Devi Temple(this of off-roading)and jungle Safari.
There is a rudraksha tree inside the fort premises.

The fort is shutdown for maintenance these days & will remain open after 6 month as per the local persons but there is a worth to visit this place because after reaching there you will get awesome views of hills , city & clouds.
If you want to take a best view , you must visit in the early morning when clouds cover the city & you are above the clouds.
Overall the surrounding area is awesome & great experience👍🏻

Bala quila is under renovation now (Jan 2023). It is located on a hill top, and tourists can go by car up to hill top and can walk around the fort. Beautiful view. It is better to visit in winter.

I went to Bala Fort with friends in April 2022. Beautiful fort indeed. There were some renovation going on in the fort by ASI so it was closed at that time for public. But we found another way to enter the fort but did not go inside eventually.

There is a check post of Forest Deptt also 3-4 km before the fort. They checked our car and did not allow food and drink items.

Karni Mata mandir is also on the way to the fort, you have to park your car and go downstairs to visit the temple.

The Fort itself is closed for repairs but the safari around Sariska Buffer Region of the fort was a pleasant surprise. There were lots of animals and birds to be spotted. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The best time for the safari is the last trip around 4:30pm .

India's fort with the second largest ramparts. Bala Fort is indeed an enigma. The site opens up to visitors from 7 A.M. onwards and though you can drive your car upto the fort after buying the tickets, I suggest instead to park it and buy the safari tour.
For ₹1,310 an open gypsy with driver and seating for four plus a bona fide trained guide is included in the package.
They take you to some restricted areas of the forest and then give you a detailed tour of the fort.
Not for the persons of reduced mobility as there are immense steps to get up and down but the view and the wind are surely worth it for those who can make it.

Must visit place in Alwar or even in Rajasthan. This centuries old fort in the Aravelli hills is a place to visit. It's especially great in Winter and rainy season. It's also a tiger reserve so you can also see tigers if you want. You can see the whole city from here. The hills are absolutely stunning.

This is the best place to sit peacefully, explore and admire the beauty of nature.... Right now bala quila is under construction, but you can visit there, and enjoy watching the greenery all around. This monsoon season is the best time to visit there, also there are two historical temples in the way, Karni Mata Temple and Chakradhari Hanuman Temple, you could visit there as well.
