In this " Southern Ayothi" Sri Ramar and Seetha are sitting with Lakshmanan standing nearby.Sri Bharadhan is holding umbrella over them.Sri Sathurknan serving them with 'samaram'.
Sri Hanuman is sitting in the floor with Veena in one hand and Ramayanam on the other hand. It is called as 'Ramar pattabisegam'. Wonderful darshan.
Ramayana scenes are painted in the inner pragaram nicely.The sculptures in the pillars of the mahamandapam are beautiful.

(Visited in September 2023) - Ramaswamy temple of Kumbhakonam, a noted Abhimana Kshetra, attributed to Tanjore Nayaka Kings should not be missed if you like sculptures. It is truly a masterpiece of a temple with terrific stone crafted iconography.

This is another hidden gem in Kumbhakonam. It is a temple dedicated to Lord Rama. You will see the statues of Lord Rama, Mata Sita, Lord Laxmana, Bharat and Shatrughna and Lord Hanuman.

The best part of the temple is extremely beautifully carved pillars. Those carvings are breathtaking, you can not take your eyes off it. Check out the pictures. You won't get to see such carved pillars in any other temple in Kumbhakonam city. Do not miss it in any case while you are in the town!

Nayakkars of Tanjavur and Govinda Dikshitar, the prime minister of the Nayaks, constructed this temple during 16th century.
The temple is an architectural beauty. The temple has a 3-tiered gopuram. There are sixty four pillars in the hall near the gopuram which are sculpted with various episodes of Ramayana like Vamana Avatharam, Meenakshi Kalyanam , Sukreeva Pattabisegam, relieving Agalya from her curse etc.
The sanctum sanctorium houses the beautiful and very tall idols of Rama in a seated posture with his consort Sita. The other idols are of his brothers Lakshmana, Bharatha and Chatruguna in standing posture and Hanuman, playing Veena holding and reciting Ramayana. A smiling Rama is bewitching to see!
On the walls of the prakaram, Ramayanam is depicted in colourful drawings in three segments. Devotees can see and read Ramayana pictorially whilst taking three pradakshinams of the temple

Ramaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu located in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, India.

Very good temple deities of lord Rama Sita Lakshman and Shatrugan Anjaneya huge and beautiful. Anjaneya is having Ramayan in his hands. Walls are painted with whole Ramayana . Nice to see all the paintings. Must visit place in Kumbakonam.
