This is the main campus of CU. It is located at College Street, between Calcutta Medical College and Hare School, just opposite of Vidyasagar Uddyan. At present there are approximately 160 institutes/Colleges which comes under this university, which are mostly located in the districts of Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, and South 24 Parganas.

The Darbhanga (or Dwarbhanha / দ্বারভাঙ্গা) Building inside the College Street campus of the University of Calcutta is the principal seat of its administration. The 4-story building is 110 years old (built in 1912) and an architectural masterpiece with specious interiors, huge corridors and an inner courtyard. The upper levels offer great views of the campus, its trees, statues, and the Centenary Building that, in 1968, (sadly!) replaced another architectural gem - the 1873 Senate Hall of the Univirsity.

I have spent the most beautiful time of my life here , I love this place a lot, it was always like a dream-come-true for me. Pls respect that opportunity you have, although you may hate it for a little while when you being here but trust me you're gonna miss this place more than that for sure ❤

University of Calcutta is my alma mater. It is the place to which I am indebted from the core of my heart. It is located at College Street, Kolkata. It is one of the first modern universities of India established in 1857 during British times following the style of University of London. Study really hard and you will get all the beautiful fruits which you will enjoy for the rest of your lives.

This is my place ❤❤.I am so proud to have the opportunity to be a student here... I'm a student of here since 2016, now I'm studying Master degree(2019) course from here.. this is a No 1 University in my opinion at West Bengal. And the place of this university was huge... And specially the top view of the university was amezing.. The white color of all the buildings looks great for the mind. And Still a lot of pressure to study here... But faculty members, office staff , proffers they are all very good There will be no inconvenience. Here is the arrangement of Mick in each class room.. And Every class room is clean and well maintained... A few days ago, all the bathrooms at Ashutosh Bulding were renovated and they were decorated in Western style. It looks very nice to see and use.. There are great opportunities for students to use the university's library...There is a lot of change now . But The "University of Calcutta " means that I think it is a matter of pride for all the students..❤

One of the oldest higher educational Institute in Kolkata. Its a central University in India. A lot of colleges and institutes are affiliatedd with this University. I wanted to visit in the campus. But security stuffs didn't give me the permission to entry. However, i felt good to see this historical University.

Kolkata university is one of the remarkable universities in West Bengal.Previous record of the university is quite impressive and many students come from abroad for education.Now a days it is called that this university lost its previous glory,but it is debatable.It is true that it needs improvement in many sections and then it will be able to enhance its glory.Once it was one of the 5 best universities in India but it lost its previous glory now.

People say a lot against. But I think as far as literature and classical studies in any discipline is concerned, nothing is better(at least in the state) than CU. Proud to be an alumnus
