A well kept and hassle free booking procedure is what I mostly appreciate of this heritage place
We have made up our mind to visit this place on our occasional trips to Kerala and recommended to our friends and family.

We were greeted by the two non- Malayalam speaking helpers who are very down to earth and accommodating. They took care of our needs and arranged dinner and breakfast accordingly to our likings.

Connecting back to the roots and admiring decades old artifacts was what my family enjoyed on our trip in the month of March. Palakkad was almost 40C but with the windows open we didn’t feel the heat much inside the house.

Beautiful property with rich history and tradition! Take a walk to the rice fields during sunset to birdwatch. Deepak and Ajay took good care of our family during our stay :)

We really enjoyed the stay. Happy to see that the ancestral home is kept intact with all new facilities. Appreciate the efforts taken for the same.

The caretaker Mr. Deepak was very helpful, cordial and prepared delicious meals.

Good facility. Had a wedding ceremony of a friend planned here and it went absolutely well. Nice rooms. The locality is a bit remote and the access road is just drivable.

Krishna Vilas is just beautiful, ridiculously beautiful! It is a huge house with a front yard and a back yard. It is maintained by Deepak bhaiya with such care and warmth that it is always meticulously clean. Would you believe if I tell you that after I arrived, for two whole days I was just looking at the house and being happy? I didn’t know it was even possible. The walls, dark wood furniture, portico, rafters, antique brass, traditional vault, doors, kitchen (a chef told me that it is the best kitchen she has ever seen because it is spacious and logically constructed), mortar & pestle as a part of architecture and other grinding stones, basically everything is a treat to the eyes and exists coherently with each other that I can only imagine that the owner, Myriam had to put her heart and soul to resurrect the house.
This tharavad house is around 100-year-old and has a lot of history around which you can have a glimpse of in the foyer teeming with artifacts, some more antique and a wooden staircase leading to a peaceful sitting area. The house has four relaxing sitting areas with different views. My favorite one is on top of the kitchen with a lot of trees around which makes it a perfect place to sit with a book or chat with friends or even have a drink. There is also an ample amount of space to walk around the backyard and within the house with an elongated foyer and dining area.
The dining room has an amazing view with a lot of trees with the hazy hills of Palakkad in the background. The dining table is huge which is served with hot delicious food by Deepak bhaiya on glass cutlery which makes every meal feel like a royal feast.
Talking about food, Ramasseri visit is incomplete if one doesn’t have steaming Ramasseri idlis with variety of chutneys for breakfast, the thought of which could make one’s mouth water. This taste doesn’t come easy, Chechi there wakes up at around 2:00 am to start making those idlis because there is a lot of demand for them as people visit from the nearby areas and the place is always teeming with people in the morning. During my stay, a Malyali director also visited to have a taste of the famous Ramasseri idlis. I am going to stop writing about the idlis as one can find plethora of articles and blogs online.
If you walk a little ahead from the idli shop, you can see the whole village and then quarry, ponds with blooming lotuses, which make quite a sight for the morning or evening walk. If you walk a little further, then you can dwell into the raw beauty of neighbouring villages with paddy fields and clearer view of magnificent Palakkad hills range. There are even hidden paths around which the adventure side might want to wander at, so no details here. If you get late in the evening you might even spot the bunch of fireflies which left me purely mesmerized.
But these villages don’t have Krishna Vilas where I absolutely enjoyed my stay as it is so peaceful with occasional honking of buses but with beauty everywhere, literally everywhere and it comes with great service experience because of Myriam and Deepak bhaiya. I could always talk to Myriam as she was always available to resolve my query. She even got the internet connection changed for me as I was working from there for around six months. Deepak bhaiya is always there to get whatever one needs and cook whatever one likes. During my stay, I even got to meet a lot of interesting people who happened to visit. When I told this to a friend, she said that probably only interesting people go to a place which doesn’t fall into a category of cliché tourist place. Will I go back there? Absolutely yes!
