Munroe island is a beautiful heaven in the Kollam district. The major attraction for this place is Mangroves. Those mangroves, the lake, the sun and sky together will give us a spectacular view during the evening. Hire a local boat (vallam) and they will guide you to these beautiful areas.

Very nice view and plenty of trees. Take a boat from S Curve Boat point. It is not far and can reach in a few minutes. The water is not very deep and you can spot a lot of jelly fish too. Dont forget to take a camera with you as the place is very beautiful, especially the one where the trees form an arch. You can go inside the arch in small boats. Comparatively less pollution.

A nice experience of kayaking in Ashtamudi lake with beautiful natural mangrove trees. Suggesting for early morning visits.

Beautiful,picturistic place with a jaw dropping view of backwaters and mangrove forest.Since the place is in its infant stages of development need to setup some infra for basic amenities.caneoing is available at nominal cost.
One of the add-ons is that they will take you through narrow channels which can be quite overwhelming experience.
