Beautiful canyon with multiple waterfalls (Google Maps shows three, but I counted at least five).
Please follow the instructions posted by the landowner and park near Road 1, then walk the rest of the way; this way you don't damage the road and farm grounds.
It's an easy hike. Walk up towards the farm buildings but take a left towards the stream then turn right between the two tall wooden posts (do not cross the bridge!). From there, follow the sheep trail, cross the sheep ladder and generally stay north of the stream.
Along the way, different waterfalls will come into view, each is unique and beautiful. The canyon is not as Instagrammable as some others in Iceland but you will have this place all to yourself.
Please stay on the trail and avoid damaging the fragile vegetation. Turn back when you reach the barbed wire fence at the end.

Benefoss was probably one of the coolest stops along my ring road adventure! The road to get to the starting point was quite treacherous and muddy but once you’re past that you’re good to go. It’s about a 10-minute hike to all 3 falls. This hike isn’t for everyone and you’ll probably be alone ( I was) and it makes the experience even more enjoyable. A must-see if you’re able to hike.

You’ll for sure doubt whether the parking is right or not while on the way there but fret not. Just follow the dirt road to the right before the abandoned bridge and you’ll find some clearing. Nice hike to the waterfall view point. Only managed to go to the first one as we are pressed on time during the visit.

Beautiful waterfall Away from tourism. Nice way to go hiking. If you want to go directly to the waterfall, you should go to the left of the river

We drove the entire coast of Iceland, and this was one of our favorite waterfalls of the entire trip! It's secluded and a bit hard to find, so there's a good chance you'll have it all to yourselves. I recommend packing a picnic --- so many great places to sit and enjoy the view!

To get there: Coming from the South, you'll turn left before the A1 gas station. There will be no signage, but you'll see a dirt driveway that goes toward a Bed & Breakfast called Fagrabrekka. About 100 yards before the house, you can turn left. It feels like a field drive, but follow that until you get to a fence. You can park along the fence line. You'll hike about 300 meters along the water (crawl over the fence where the wooden ladder has been built) and continue following the water until you reach the falls.

Heading north on 1, turn left just before the gas station. At the intersection, make another left until you reach a large wooden gateway (picture below). Park there, or drive through the gateway and you'll see a little field you can park in; the stairs over the fence are nearby, on the other side is the sheep trail you can follow to see all 3 waterfalls.

Beautiful hidden waterfall!! Very quiet, the short walk from the parking was pleasant. You can watch it from up the cliff or go down next to the river.

Please, this is a made up made of this waterfall. Benefoss isn't even Icelandic. The waterfall's real Icelandic names is Ullarfoss, which means Wool-waterfall. I am from the next farm so I know this. Please help by suggesting edits to Google maps.

hard to find and many probably miss the turn

turn left before the gas station, park in the field, walk over the sketchy stool thing and follow the animal droppings

continue on for a few meters until you see benefoss, very much worth the stop

From where Google maps takes you...go back towards the N1, but turn left before you get there ..up the track, we parked at the guesthouse and walked over..but you can take the mud track up to a smaller car park.

Lovely waterfalls! The instructions from the landowner were easy to follow - make sure you read their review before coming here for to road closure

You easily miss the turn towards these waterfalls, but we definitely recommend visiting! We made the hike along the left side of the canyon. Once you go through the meadow's fence on top you can follow a (sheep's?) trail to the waterfalls. Beautiful hike!

This was worth the anxiety of finding it only to find it was super easy! Follow the directions of other reviews and you’ll find it!

It was the first waterfall before Ankafoss and Attifoss! If you go there you must visit these 3 waterfalls! You reach the waterfalls in 15 minute!

I did not actually get to see this waterfall as Google Maps will not send you the right way. I suspect you need to turn left on the gravel road before the N1 gas station to get to the Fagrabrekka guesthouse and then just park somewhere on the side of the road and walk the rest of the way.

A hidden gem of a waterfall. wild and unspoiled bu tourism! 3rd one downstream from Ankafoss and Attifoss, must see if you are in the region.
Reachable by a 10min walk on a gravel road then unmarked trail by the gorge.

We were staying at the nearby guesthouse, and we loved the easy little hike to the three waterfalls. We were all alone, and the place is completely unspoiled. Worth a visit, if you are stopping nearby

Please guys park on the gravels, just follow the path and never give up. Nice walk on left side of the canyon -worth it.
