A great location, good facilities including hot tub

Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen und hatten einen guten Aufenthalt. Es gibt wirklich nur ein Klo, dafür ist das warm (Ende September sehr angenehm). Da wenig los war, war das aber bei uns kein Problem. Unser Stromkabel war zu kurz, man hat uns aber eine unbürokratische Lösung angeboten, sodass wir doch noch Strom hatten. Die Dame, die uns abkassierte, war sehr freundlich und hat uns sogar in der Nacht auf die Nordlichter aufmerksam gemacht. Insgesamt hat bei uns also alles wunderbar gepasst.

I was a bit confused when I came. I was the only one staying in that camp, no stuff, nobody (but you put your money to the box). Toilette was a bit broken and no hot water in that small bathroom, but ok for one night.

One bathroom for the whole campground. There were showers but they weren't free and we didn't use them.

Camping tranquilo sin gente. No hay personal, debes pagar en una caja. Es la trasera de una gasolinera. Tienes tomas de electricidad y baños. Las duchas están en otro edificio. Es amplio y está en buen estado.

Langafit is connected to an ÓB gas station and a handcraft/history museum coffee shop/store filled with intriguing artefacts related to the area.

I was the first person to check in that afternoon, but the welcome from the owner was a little frosty, even though I showed great interest everything that was on display.

The cafe was soon to close, so I drove onward to check out Hótel
Laugarbakki, where the welcome was much warmer (thanks, Inga) and I reserved a table for dinner at Restaurant Bakki, its in-house eatery.

It’s a 15-minute walk from the campsite, so it’s a pretty good option.

After a splendid chicken dish, I retired for the night, having checked out the showers and facilities first. I was still the only person staying there that night.

Here’s the most relevant fact that I feel is relevant for future campers.

There’s only one toilet (filthy) and three showers with no cubicles.

Goodness knows what it would be like when the campsite has more people queuing up for one toilet.

And how does one shower area work for everyone?

I was grateful that I was there by myself, rather than at a busy time.

It does have a hot tub and a decking area, but that was a very small bonus.

In short, I wouldn’t recommend Langafit to anyone, but I would suggest having a meal at Restaurant Bakki!

Very basic camping. Only one toilet for a lot of people... No way to register with the camping card when arriving late/leaving early. Could do with some refurbishments/adding facilities.

Not so good.

Petit camping, pas de cuisine et juste 1 toilette pour tout le monde (vraiment pas assez). Possibilité de douche payante qu'on a pas prise donc rien à dire. La propriétaire est très sympa!

Worst place ever, 1 (one!!!) toilet to like 40 people, and 1 outdoor zink, that is all the facilities there are☹

Drove off after briefly checking out the place. It seemed closed, we were the only car there, everything was locked and the place seemed abandoned.

Dirty campsite, uninteresting, with extra shower, only one toilet, run away...

Leider kann man keine 0 Sterne vergeben. Wir sind wirklich nicht wählerisch oder anspruchsvoll, aber dieser Campingplatz ist das aller letzte. Eine Übernachtung mit etwa 40-50 weiteren Gästen mit nur einer Toilette ist unzumutbar. Bei unserer Ankunft war bereits eine lange Schlange vor der Toilette. Wir haben uns nach 30 Minuten entschieden weiter zu fahren weil wir auch nicht an Strom kommen konnten. Es gibt nur beim Haus 4 Steckdosen und das war es dann. Die waren natürlich schon belegt. Unfassbar das dieser Campingplatz überhaupt mehr als einen Stern bekommen konnte.

Nul, ils prennent la carte camping mais il faut payer en plus pour avoir accès au douches, qui en plus ne sont pas terribles, et où il n'y avait pas d'eau chaude chez les femmes !! Un seul wc pour tout le monde, un évier a l'extérieur et c'est tout, c'est honteux d'offrir un truc pareil, c'est vraiment prendre les campeurs pour des tiroirs caisses...Le pire camping que nous avons fait en Islande...
