Worth every single cent to visit! It’s like a trip to the past of Roman Empire.

Impressive. Sadly it's fenced in so you can't touch it.

Interesting place.
Not crowded.
Tucked away around the back of the ruins.
It is fenced off, and you're able to sit in front on a marble bench.
It is the olny arch kept in rome and was originally a cross road.
Quiet place.
No tour is required.
I sat in front and googled the history.

Small little known masterpiece near other stupendous Roman remains, is the Arch of Janus, a Roman arch with four doors. Istagram - dany_le68

An arch who surprised me.
I expected something similar with triumphal arch but it has 4 columns and it's a square

Beautiful spot in Rome! Close to the river Tevere and Circo Massimo. Magic with nightlight!

There are a number of Roman antiquities in Rome that you can visit and see for free, and this is one. It's a quiet peaceful place with a beautiful structure and recently partially cleaned. There's no posted signage (as of 6/2021) but this beautiful arch has been cleaned now on the side that faces the Portunus and the Round Temple. There's a gate around it, which seems to be kept closed all the time, but the bars are spaced wide enough that you can sneak a 77mm lens through for some nice photos or simply a nice view. You can walk all around it also. There's parking at the back, though I'm not sure about restrictions. From the back, it's a nice walk up to the Capitoline Museum and a side of the forum that also affords a nice free place to take photos of the Curia and the temple of Saturn. From the cleaned side it's just across the street from Portunus.
Ramage's guide speculates that it may really have been an arch of the deified Constantine, but as a fan of Janus, I prefer to believe otherwise.

With the Invisible Man as our tour guide in the Roman Forum, it was a historically significant day!

I had been to Rome several times, but nowhere did I feel as good as on a cool night gazing at the building from a stone bench while an enchanting acapella filtered out of the church next door.
If I were looking for an apartment, chances are I would do it in this dead end first.

The only four-sided arch remaining in Rome, wiki shows the arch in19. century with existing upper floor, believing it was a medieval add-on it was demolished...but inside the pillars is the staircse..so it was in fact part of roman structure, now it should be rebuilded.

This arch is special for being four-sided and also since it is one of the old entry spots to the "Cloaca Maxima" (Great Sewer of ancient Rome, which still exists)

I was excited to find out I was staying round the corner from the Arch of Janus, as I had read about during my studies at University. It's wonderful to see a surviving four sided arch.

Incredibly underrated. No one will tell you about it, instead is one of the biggest still existing roman monuments in Rome
