Osteria Gatto d'Oro

A truly wonderful restaurant and evening. The owner was so kind and very accommodating to my vegan husband. There was a very cute dog that walked around too. Our food was delicious and we went with recommendations. By far the best food we’ve had in Italy in a long time. The hazelnut gnocchetti alone is worth a dinner. A must visit.

This cozy Osteria was one of the most beautiful, delicious, and emotional restaurants I have ever been to. The two ladies who own or run this Osteria are not only the two experts in service and hospitality but also the two nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting in a restaurant. The atmosphere of Osteria is indescribable. It's as if you're at home as soon as you enter. This place is a real culinary journey. The food is selected with such care that it elevates this wonderful place to the level of a Michelin-star restaurant. The flavors and the plates are amazing, and you can choose your own wine for all of them, which get from the cellar to your table. We spent more than four hours here without even noticing the passage of time. This wonderful Osteria gives both the soul and the stomach a real and sensual experience. It's not just a restaurant, it's a place for a culinary and hospitality experience. Ladies! I give you 10 stars and I raise my hat to your hospitality and gastronomic professionalism! It is quite certain that we will return to you one day - soon! Thank you for everything, and we wish you good health and many wonderful days!

had some amazing food there (especially the truffle gnocchi, absolutely delicious!). the woman who served us who i believe was the owned too was so so sweet and dedicated, offered to make us special cocktails and overall served us in such a cheerful manner. even got offered free rum shots as we were leaving! highly recommend coming here :)

Amazing experience, the owner treated us with warm hospitality and food was delicious. Service was fantastic and decor of the restaurant is so unique. We tasted completely different dishes and each of them was so tasty: buratta with truffles, artichokes, duck leg, truffle tagliatelle, deer with polenta and chicken. Of course we tried a desert and their wines are outstanding; highly recommend and wish we could come back one day!

We lost the 12h30 ferry and had to wait until the next at 14h.
Best thing that happened, as we got to eat at this awesome gem.
We were served by the nicest lady we've met in our trip so far.
We ordered the gnocchi with sesame sauce, fettuccine with tomato sauce and onions, and gnocchi with truffle sauce, everything was delicious.
Special mention to the gnocchi with truffle sauce that is outstanding. One of the best dishes we've eaten so far.

If you are looking for the experience of your lifetime, this is the place to eat at if you are in the area. Throughout our many travels in Europe, we have never had such an exceedingly amazing dining experience. Our hosts were above excellent, the atmosphere is lovely, and the food is beyond heavenly.

By the end of our stay, I felt at home. We went through the menu from appetisers to coffee, and our host (one of the two lovely ladies who give life to this wonderful establishment) was kind enough to let me practice my Italian through conversation while making sure we were comfortable and satisfied. She told us all about the restaurant itself, the food and it's culture, and provided us with the experience of a lifetime. We live far away, but all of us vowed to return as soon as we could. 10/10.

We ordered the artichoke haerts & cured meats with truffle honey as starter. Main course was osso bucco with polenta & tagliatella with truffle. To finish the night we got a sip of Creamy Pistacchio Liquor!

Delicious food made with local ingredients. Very nice wines, when needed with advice from the lovely staff. You don’t need to like cats to enjoy this fantastic place!

Everything there is amazing! Pasta is to die for, service is great and cake with crema catalana is the best dessert I’ve ever eaten. You might wait a bit longer for food but it’s definitely worth it!

Loved this trattoria! The host had seen us in the village earlier in the day and made us (and our 3 dogs!) unbelievably welcome. Made us feel at home and everything felt so relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble and anything we needed help with was clearly explained. Multiple languages were catered for (English, German, French as well as Italian, obviously!) The fun and quirky decor was lovely, yet still romantic, and the food was simply fantastic. Lots of interesting traditional dishes and everything we tried was delicious and left us wanting to come back for more. Prices were pretty reasonable too.
As a foreign visitor I can't imagine a better trattoria, I will now be using this experience as my yardstick to compare others, and will be trying to concoct good excuses to head back to the locale again in the future.

Great food and service in a charming little restaurant close to the ferry. During the week travelling different places round Garda this was both the best meal and food experience we had! We are a vegetarian couple, and though the owner also is a vegetarian, and therefor has several vegetarian courses, she says she doesn't want to label them. And we completely understand why - because these are delicious dishes that everyone should enjoy! Additionally she gave great service, happily talked to us, served us free drinks and gave us tourist tips. Visit her!

Beautiful moment, amazing experience

I love this place! The lady who runs it is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I can’t say enough good things, my girlfriend and I even walked over 30 minutes to come here for our second night in a row. When I have to leave the beautiful Lake Garda, I will also be sad to leave this place. So much charm, wonderful food, and the most friendly people working here you will ever meet!

Absolutely thrilled to share my experience at Osteria Gatto d'Oro! The food was beyond amazing, with flavors that left me speechless. The atmosphere was pure magic, creating an incredibly unique dining experience that I'd rate 100/10 if I could. And let's not forget the restaurant's staff – they were incredibly friendly and made me feel so welcome, adding to the overall fantastic experience!!! Recommend!!!

A real experience for good food and wine lovers. A family restaurant with "all hand made" food. If you are nearby Lake Garda (Toscolano Maderno) don't miss this place. Not a large menu, but a various one. A very intimate place for couples. P.S: try the deserts!!

Fantastic little place, great atmosphere. Tried to walk in without a reservation, no table but was handed an aperol spritz for free that had been made for someone in error!
Booked and came back two days later. Lovely food, particularly the gnocchi. Also the biggest wine glasses I've ever seen. Prices high by Italian standards (not by elsewhere, though).

Will be back if in the area again.

One of the best dining experiences we had. Very lovely owner, great deco. Felt like eating with friends with just a few tables and exclusive food. Made our mums 70th birthday something very special. Yes, it’s a bit more expensive but worth every cent if you like high class food and good vines. PS: the dessert is to die for ! :-) see you next time

We come to Maderno a few times a year and ALWAYS visit the place. This place is so unique and so good that I forget how time passes. It is like it’s own world, when you exist only at that very moment, and rest - doesn’t matter.
