Wonderful location, especially when coming with children.
You can experience the life in former times with houses built in the cave and around, animals and a really nice Café with a sea view.
Free entry, you can donate.

Beautiful place. Well organized with free entrance. Though it is expected that you leave a small donation at the entrance, which is completely okay because it helps them run the place and keep it clean and feeds the animals.

This place really impressed us. Our expectations were not high, so we were positively surprised how good it was. There is a large parking lot very close by. The venue consists of several buildings/workshops that display how the place would have looked like. You follow a path that will eventually lead you to the cave buildings. There is a beautiful view of the ocean from the cafe, which serves various beverages and foods. The entrance is free, but at the exit you can donate to the place to support upkeep. We highly recommend this hidden gem.

Very interesting and friendly place. Old Sicily style. If you are a tourist, this is why you came to Sicily.

This place is really fantastic! You'll get some history explanation, then stroll around to see the historical homes, and animals. Then you can chill with some good coffee and buy some local souvenirs. Really well kept and lovely place (with some bats flying in the cave as well)

Small Village dated less than 200 years, located in the very proximity or inside caves. Great atmosphere, houses are really well conserved, parking and entrance is free but donations are nicely met. Enjoy very climatic toilet :)

A special Thank You also to the staff at the Bazar, made my day even better with all the food/nibbles recommendations and their candour, this place is so magical and beautiful because of the people looking after it! 🍋🫶

Great place to visit, no entry fee but donations are very welcomed. Wish we spoke Italian and could understand the custodian of this place who clearly knew a lot about this place. The place will transport you back in time and leave you very inspired.

Wonderful small abandoned family village, it still has some of their stuff in there. Totally worth visiting.

This place will soon be part of the UNESCO or will have anyhow a lot of attentions, it contains some ancient graffiti, dated more than 10thousands years ago, and it used to be underwater, inside you can find some seadates. It was also a city built apparently by a family called Mangiapane, who used to live there for about 150 years, building a village.
Andrea, the responsible of the place, looks after it so well and he's very passionate about it! I wish you to meet him.
It's too hard to explain how much there is in this place to be seen, you better check it out yourself, it is definitely a MUST place if you are even not around the area.

Such an amazing place to visit! The visit is free, but you can leave a donation at the end of the tour if you like. It's a little village built inside a beautiful cave, close to the sea. I loved it!

Interesting place to visit if you are nearby. Car parking, toilet and entrance to the village are free, but donations are very welcome.

It was nice to see how people lived here near and inside the grotto, many stuff preserved and exhibited in the village houses.
Everyone will love live animals there - donkeys, goats, peacocks, hens etc.

It was so sweet. The museum - village is so well maintained and I was struck by all the detail we could figure out. Unfortunately we couldn't go all the way into Grotto since there was a movie to be shot. But anyway. Already the outsides were really really nice!

Great break from the beach and heat of Sicilian summer. I wonder how beautiful it would be in December where this place becomes alive again for the nativity. Very happy to have relived the past of this territory.
