Trattoria Cane e Gatto

One of my favorite meals in Siena for sure. A very simple place with simple dishes that were made perfectly. Tried to walk in twice but the place was packed, and ended up making a reservation which I recommend.

A quiet family run trattoria. Chosen after reading the reviews. This little place lived up to the great reviews. A light smoked zucchini mousse was followed by pici with cipollina rossa and paccheri with branzino & calamari in a flavorful pomodori sauce. We had the vino Rosso di casa which was also very good. Highly recommended. Complementi.

Wow, this place is a gem! We had a variety of meals in Siena, as well as our fair share of Pici Cacio e Pepe... But as we tried various different places around Siena I remember telling my girlfriend while we ate at a different restaurant that there has to be a better Pici pasta dish than what I was eating at the time. This was it!!!

I had a dish very similar to carbonara without the egg. Just oil, cheese, and different cut of pork. Absolutely amazing! To me, there is a specific way it was cooked that just made that Pecorino cheese pop and it tasted far more genuine than any other place I had been to the whole trip. Very homemade vibe with many dishes having a slight twist to them. Spot on. Great value, great service, and make sure to top it off with the fantastic Tiramisu. You have to try this hidden gem if you are in Siena. I'll definitely be back.

We happened to find Cane e Gatto during our first night in Siena. I’m so glad we did. Luigi cooked us one of the best meals of my life! He made us feel very welcome.

Personale gentile e attento al cliente. Il cuoco che arriva personalmente al tavolo per chiedere se va tutto bene ti fa sentire coccolato.
Cibo di ottima qualità!
Consiglio i Pici tipici, un piatto squisito e cucinato benissimo.
Carne di alto livello, salumi e formaggi buonissimi.
Vino rosso eccezionale accompagna bene i prodotti tipici.

È una trattoria senese molto caratteristica, il personale è accogliente e loquace, i piatti vengono preparati con cura, scegliendo ingredienti di ottima qualità, soprattutto la carne che è anche cucinata con grande maestria (ho mangiato una Tagliata deliziosa). Dei dolci, tutti fatti in casa, ho assaggiato il Tiramisú, squisito, ed i Cantuccini col Vinsanto, anche questi ottimi, con granella di pistacchio. Del gestore del ristorante, oltre che la passione per il servizio che offre, ho apprezzato anche la sinceritá nello spiegarmi il motivo per cui porta a tavola un olio EVO di fuori regione anziché un olio toscano. Tutto sommato il posto è gradevole, si mangia tranquillamente anche nei tavoli all'aperto, nel vicolo non troppo affollato. Il prezzo è nella media.

Super Carbonara. Sono stato con amico proprio per mangiare la pasta alla carbonara e devo dire che era super !!! Servita in un padellone gigante super condita e veramente ottima. Buonissimi anche gli antipasti con salumi ottimi specialmente il prosciutto e crostini caldi neri da fare al momento. Il locale è molto piccolo ha una ventina di posti per cui è consigliato prenotare con largo anticipo specialmente nel fine settimana.

Io, il mio compagno e il nostro cagnolino ci siamo trovati davvero molto bene qui. È un piccolo ristorante tipico, ci hanno fatto sentire a casa! Piatti della tradizione Toscana assolutamente ben fatti! Consigliatissimo.

Ottima osteria col proprietario -cuoco sempre presente, accogliente e disponibile e le ragazze del servizio gentili e cordiali!! Ma la cosa piu' importante è che la cucina è semplice ma guduriosa, ricca di sapori e tradizioni con un tocco di eleganza....il semifreddo ai cantucci e vin santo è una prelibatezza!!!!! Pici fatti in casa al tartufo...e che ve li dico a fa'....se ritorno a Siena sicuramente ci ripasso....

Piccolo locale, solo pochi tavoli, proprietario molto simpatico, disponibile. Cibo ottimo, fatto in casa, porzioni abbondanti, ottima la trippa alla senese... locale da consigliare! Ci torneremo sicuramente

Originelles toskanische Gerichte, Geschmack wie Hausmannskost verbunden mit professionellen gastronomische Kenntnisse. Das ist ein Tipp für Insider. Das Lokal ist klein mit wenigen Tischen, aber sehr sauber, Lebensmittel mit sehr hoher Qualitätsstandards und Perfekt geführt. Wer Siena besucht und hier nicht zum Essen kommt hat sehr viel verpasst.

Osteria minuscola ma veramente carina, con le pareti ricoperte di proverbi senesi. Personale gentilissimo. Prodotti deliziosi, dagli affettati alla fiorentina. Ottimo vino della casa.
