Hotel Tirreno

Tirreno hotel is located in Parghelia (just 4 minutes from the Tropea city center). This is a family run hotel along the southern Calabria coast. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home.

The hotel grounds are simply stunning. The beautifully manicured gardens create a serene and picturesque oasis that immediately puts you at ease. Every detail, from the vibrant flowers to the neatly trimmed trees and hedges, is cared for with the utmost attention and pride.

Our suite was overlooking the pool and sea with its own terrace. The room was spotless, comfortably furnished with traditional charm and well stocked. I particularly loved the bath robe. The staff’s attention to detail was impeccable, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was perfect.

One of the highlights of our visit was the nearby beach, which boasts pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters. The hotel offers a convenient shuttle service to both the beach and the city center, making it easy to explore the local area without any hassle.

This hotel is a gem…. Perfect location near the sea and city, excellent service. Ideal for anyone looking for a retreat with genuine southern Italian hospitality. We loved it 12 years ago and can’t wait to return. Thank you Michele, Stefania and Franco!!

This is a great hotel with some outstanding views and a beautiful pool. Our 2nd floor room had a fantastic view. The hotel has a shuttle to Tropia for dinner time that was very appreciated and made it easy to not need to find parking. The pool area is pretty large with lots of umbrellas, chairs and a nice bar. Definitely will return when we are in the area.

Absolute Bliss!
Last day of our holiday in this wonderful hotel. Spotlessly clean, delicious food, we chose from menu for dinner with 3 choices for each course, good as any 5 star restaurant. The private beach is white sand and there are new sunbeds and unbrellas provided and restaurant nearby if we wanted lunch . We could walk or minibus from hotel took us down and picked us up. We went on the train to Pizzo and were met at the station by Giovanni and his his tuk tuk, who took us around and left us to explore round the pretty streets and came back for us to take us to the station and Stephania sorted it all out for us. The staff here are wonderful and it’s very quiet and peaceful and not at all touristy. It’s an absolute gem. All staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. Very laid back hotel, run to perfection. Special thanks to Stephania and the lovely Ilaria who both made our holiday special. Can’t wait to return. Mary and Tom Fairbrother

Family owned and run. Device was exceptional. Very friendly staff. A quick shuttle to their beach with lounges and umbrella. Also a nice and very clean pool. Prices were reasonable. Easy to get into town for all restaurants, other beaches and sights. The water is some of the best in the world! We would definitely come here again.

We have just returned from our third stay at Hotel Tirreno. As before we had a lovely stay, great food , spotlessly clean and all the staff are amazing.
Thank you to Daniel, the gardener leaving bougainvillea on my sunbed, made my day.
We were greeted with hugs from Stephania and Olga and the rest of the team all welcomed us back.
Shuttle bus to the beach and nearby town Tropea in an evening is a bonus.
Stephanie arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport and booked restaurants for us. Nothing was too much trouble
Never stayed in such a friendly hotel. We hope to return next June.

We had a marvelous 4 night/3 day stay in early October. Due to a problem with the Junior Suite we had booked we were upgraded to the Deluxe Suite as no additional charge. If the Deluxe Suite is within your budget the room is definately worth it!. The porch has a fantastic view of the sea and of the sun setting over nearby Tropea. The hotel breakfast offered lots of choices, all delicious. There are two beaches within a 10 min. walk from the hotel. One is the hotel's private beach with lounge chairs and umbrellas. You can catch the hotel's shuttle to and from this beach if you don't want to walk. The other is Spiaggia Michelino. This is a marvelous, more secluded, not to be missed beach! Michelino requires going down quite a few stairs (and back up on the return) but is so worth the effort.

The staff at the hotel were all very friendly. We can't say enough good things about this place. They even offer an evening shuttle to and from nearby Tropea. It's only about 2 km away. We walked there, had dinner, and took the hotel shuttle back.

If you are looking for a peaceful beach getaway the Hotel Tirreno should be on top of your list!

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Tirreno!! The hotel is family run in a quiet location about 1km outside of Tropea. The staff are fantastic - they really went out of their way to help you with anything from booking taxis to booking excursions or just providing information. There are free shuttle buses to their private beach running in the daytime and also into Tropea in the evening.

Our room was very clean and spacious with good views. We stayed half board, and the food was very good.

The gardens were beautiful, and the pool area was lovely.

The walk into Tropea is about 20-25 minutes with a 200 step climb up to the town, or you can walk a bit further and take 100 steps.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and visiting Calabria as it is such a beautiful area of Italy. I will definitely be returning!

Where to start! Beautiful setting. Fabulous staff who were so helpful with local information including letting us know the easiest way to climb up to Tropea! Housekeeping incredible - everywhere was spotless. The evening meals were on a par with a 5 star London hotel - seriously. Breakfast excellent too. Bar drinks and snacks same standard and we were treated like grown ups by giving us real glasses 😮.The staff whoever you saw and whatever time were cheerful, polite and simply lovely - something unusual in many hotels. Altogether I cannot recommend highly enough and I’m a tough nut to crack! I don’t know how close the family are to the daily doings but I would love them to know just how proud they should be of their staff and the hotel. I truly hope to come back - and that’s unusual too! Please keep it up - you have nailed it

Wonderful hotel! Beautiful property with amazing views. Loved the pool area and the shuttle to town was such a great amenity. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful - they helped to organize a taxi when we missed the last shuttle. When I come back to Tropea this is definitely where I'll stay!

This was my first time in Calabria and our travel agent booked this for us. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this little gem. The hotel room had a beautiful view of the sea and was close to Tropea. The room was impeccably clean with services several times a day. The clean and the bar had delicious drinks and food. The restaurant was great!!! Great food and drinks. The prices were very reasonable. This is a family owned business and they make your stay welcoming. Thanks to Stephanie, Michaela, Dovani and most of all Alesseo for all the fun we had talking to him. We wish you all the best in the future. I will gladly come back and/or recommend this to everyone. Has become a bit pricier over the years, though the nice experience of the hotel, the wonderful and clean pool, the reserved hotel beach, and the day-trip options are still worth it. Cheers!

The accolades are justified* This delightful hotel has everything going for it. From the comfortable rooms to the well kept gardens. From the friendly and helpful staff to the ambience. I don't think we could have wished for a more perfect balance for our short break to Calabria. We are coming back for sure.

Really well run hotel. Super efficient and friendly staff. The top floor suite is just great and we love the pool area. Nice, well stocked breakfast but dinner not really up to the rest of the hotel standard with the main a la carte restaurant closed this late in the season. However, there is a great meal available 50 metres away at the local taverna. Old Tropes is brilliant, use the hotel shuttle service. The beach is OK and has private complimentary beds and sun umbrellas but it isn't as good or as sheltered as the beaches in Tropea.

Wonderful stay with my family. The staff and accommodations are top notch. The restaurant is wonderful and the pool is well kept. They also provide a shuttle service to and from Tropea in the evenings and a beach not far from the hotel during the day . A great place to stay while discovering Tropea.

We had a very pleasend stay, everything was great. Nice service, friendly, cleaned 3 times a day the room and we are looking to head back in the future! Can recommand it for everybody :)

This gem by the sea is a true find.
The hotel is set on a beautiful garden style property and is unique.
Ask for a sea view room with a terrace that looks over the ocean.
The service is professional and friendly.
The restaurant is superb and many local dishes and wines from the Calabria region are the best.
There is a shuttle to the beach or we walked there it is a 15 minute walk.
The hotel has a. Private beach area for guests.
The pool and pool bar were great.
For fun discover the village of Tropea it has great shopping. There is also a historic castle to explore.
This place in Tropea is the best for a relaxing and fun vacation.

Lovely place, great pool, nice people, wonderful private beach (at no extra cost) reachable by foot or with a shuttle. Also free shuttle to Tropea at night. Our room could use a bit of redecoration but we didn't mind.

We have spent the last 5 days here and we have had a sensational time
The facilities, the staff Stephania , Michele,Gianni, Leonardo, are all wonderful and we are made to feel like part of the family here
Tropea is a Mediterranean jewel and this is our second time staying at this great Hotel
Restaurant in the hotel is fabulous and there are many more to explore in the town ship
We also love the little local restaurant Da Tonnino which has fabulous pizza and other dishes
We will definitely be back and look forward to more time in this beautiful place
