The admittedly small museum about medieval arms and armor is absolutely top notch! The showpieces and texts are scientifically up to date and the curators did an amazing job in presenting the figurines wearing the arms and armor in lifelike poses, each in their own diorama. Another strong point of the exhibition is, that you can try out/wear several pieces of arms and armor. I highly recommend a visit to every medieval enthusiast and hobby historian!

Underrated, on some but not all travel websites. It's a very small village that can be seen in an hour, come at sunset for some beautiful castle gate photos. You can pay 8-10 euros to climb and see the walls which makes for a great tuscany countryside view and some nice photos as well.

It's amazing to see that the whole city walls and towers are still intact, it's really a unique place worth visiting. Some parts of the walls can be visited buying a cheap ticket, and from there you can see the city from above and look at the nice view on the Tuscany hills

A wonderful climb from the parking area to the walls of the city. Quaint little place with wines, ceramics, gelato. Great views out of the walls. Centre square has great stone church as a pleasant stop. Obviously on the ancient pilgrim way, has a museum for the Knights Templar. Just off the highway but a quiet, secluded area.

Absolutely beautiful small hilltop fort town, original Midievel fortifications are still there and can be visited. Small enough you can wall around the city in about an hour. Very nice!!!!!

The perfect little town to get in touch with the medieval times.
Really beautiful and well preserved but still modern ( they have a virtual tour with AR).
Bonus: if you are a fan of Assassin's Creed this is the place that inspired the game setting.

Very small, completely walled village/castle. Very cute to visit for an hour. Not too touristic. Good true toscan food for low prices.

Monteriggioni is an amazing quaint beautiful visit. Touristy sure but not overrun with people. I loved the fact that you can walk everywhere, taste wine, eat and walk on the walls in just a few hours. We had a lovely not too pricey meal wich was well deserved. Living d it

I've always dreamed of seeing this place along with Florence, Venice and Rome. There are many beautiful small towns all over Toscana, but Monteriggioni was one of the first places I visited. And I loved it! It's a small town inside castle walls with huge history. You will find just about a dozen of one-two storey houses made of rock, with narrow streets between them. Souvenir shops and cafes. It's easy to get to, but the views from up there are breathtaking. It's so pieaceful and cute. You won't get a full exeprience of it just by looking at pictures. As soon as you get there you will realize that it's even better than on the photos.

Small and easy to visit in an hour, which we did as part of a larger tour. You can walk on top of the wall and the view is really pretty.

I loved Monteriggioni because of the vast view you have over Tuscany when you climb the battlements. It costs 4 euro per adult to have a view from the battlements, visit the museum and the small church. There are a few restaurants with good food at a medium price and there are a few small gift shops where you can buy some nice souvenirs. The town is easily accessible and there is a large parking that is not too expensive.

What a great museum! You are actually allowed to try the armour on, which is perfect when you are there with a kid. Cheap and fascinating!

Really nice place, little museum where you can learn about monterigionni history, the battles in the region and try some medieval armor. With the tickets you can visit the top of the walls and the abbaye of abbadia a isola. It's 4€ really well spent.

This is a great place if you're an Assassin's Creed fan. It's a cute little fortress. To climb the walls, it costs €3, and is well worth it.

Parking is a bit pricy, try to leave your car down below, nearby a restaurant. If you're heading to Florence, Monteriggioni is such small town among Tuscany hills, a must visit for some relaxes time.

Spectacular little village with some impressive views. Something that you don't want to miss if around Siena.

It can be easily spotted from the highway between Florence and Siena.

Great little spot on our way to the wine tour. Very touristy but the location was pretty amazing. I wanted to try one of the small restaurants there but was time constrained.

although a big part of this museum is miniatures that represent sites of battles and the castle, they let you TOUCH and WEAR armors, weapons and shields. Worth the visit.

You can't be not amazed at this walled village, you really can see & imagine how life was. Enough cafes for a nice break.
