La Chiave dei Trabocchi

During the “emergency” heatwave in Italy this past July 2023, my daughter and I drove from Rome through the beautiful Apennine Mountains to this hotel, expecting major language barriers, culture shock and very few menu items we could eat. We are American, do not eat much seafood, and sadly, speak very little Italian. To our surprise, we couldn't have been more mistaken! The staff was generally very accommodating, and someone always spoke English (Elena/Aliana [sp?] at the front desk was particularly helpful). The food was delicious (we ordered dinner twice), and the free breakfast buffet was very elaborate – plenty of choices for all. They even come to your table to take your coffee/espresso order and deliver it to you.

Our room (#427 I believe) and balcony had a spectacular view of the Adriatic. Sunrises were amazing, while watching the fishing boats. There are MANY steps to the private, PAY beach that provides lounges and an umbrella. My only complaint is that people stake their claim early and hang their towels, etc. on many of the lounges and umbrellas, then leave for several hours. This didn’t seem fair to me as we only stayed an hour or two each day but paid the same as those who staked their spot for the entire day/evening, even when they weren’t there, so that no one else could use them. We did luck out and managed to get 2 lounges and an umbrella when we went down, but never had our choice as the majority already had other people’s belongings on them or were currently in use - I believe the hotel was sold out so it might not always be this crowded. The steps back up to the hotel can be daunting, especially in 100-degree heat, so beware. It is still worth it to have lounges and an umbrella already set up to use on this rocky but gorgeous beach, and you don’t really have to worry much about leaving your belongings hanging on the umbrella while you take a dip in the crystal-clear water.

We highly recommend renting bikes and biking the wonderful bike/pedestrian trail that runs along the beautiful Trabocchi Coast. Enjoyable even in a heatwave!

Would love to someday return to La Chieve dei Trabocchi!

We recently held our wedding reception at the Chiave dei Trabocchi. The team at the hotel put on a truly spectacular event that was seamlessly executed. Our guests, who arrived from all across Europe and the US were treated to the best food and wine Abruzzo has to offer with an exceptional level of service. The staff at the hotel we’re exceptional and displayed incredible attention to detail. The hotel is beautifully decorated with a terrace that offers a stunning view of the Adriatic. We would highly recommend La Chiave dei Trabocchi as a venue for any special event or a visit to the Costa dei Trabocchi in Abruzzo. Thank you, Giulia&Rob

Very nice hotel facing the Mediterranean Sea. Comfortable rooms with A/C, safe, private bathroom with shower. The staff is very kind and welcoming. The hotel features also a private seaside area with umbrellas and sunbeds, along with food and beverage service.

This is a very nice place to spend a fee days even in winter time. Very close to the sea, this hotel has a lot of attention to details and the decorations are of exquisite taste, the staff is really nice and helpful and the room looks amazing.

Wonderful hotel with beautiful scenery. I am eternally greatful to the staff who foud my neclace and returned it to me. Thanks again! I recommend the hotel warmly for everyone traveling to Abruzzo.

Great place.

Hotel molto bello affacciato sul mare, basta attraversare la strada, sulla fantastica costa dei trabocchi. Struttura nuova come nuovi sono gli interni e le camere. Camera e bagno ampi e puliti con balcone con vista mare, locale luminoso grazie alla grande porta a vetri per accedere al balcone. Colazione varia e personale cordiale e gentile. Ottimi spazi esterni. Parcheggio dell'hotel esterno e gratuito. Ottimo soggiorno

Ottima esperienza. Sopratutto le notti passate nella suite decisamente molto accogliente con vista mare da mozza fiato e ampio terrazzo attrezzato. Ottima la prima colazione. Consumato anche ottime cene. Unica critica (costruttiva) doccia un po' piccola nelle camere superior e frigor bar da atrezzare un po' per un 4 stelle.

Struttura molto bella tutta bianca,pulita e confortevole.
Piscina in mezzo ad un agrumeto con servizio bar sul posto.
Ristorante dell': hotel veramente buono con prezzi onesti.
Servizio assolutamente in linea per un quattro stelle.

Hotel incantevole, vista eccezionale e personale gentilissimo e disponibile. Le torte della prima colazione sono da urlo! E la possibilità di portare i cani in cui sono accettati e trattati come una famiglia non ha davvero prezzo!

Personale super cordiale ed accogliente, ti fanno sentire a casa.
Camere comode, arredate nel dettaglio, seguendo una linea talvolta fine ed elegante.
Bagno ampio con tutti i comfort e kit di benvenuto.
Ristorante eccelso, da usufruire anche solo per la cena, piatti raffinati e ricercati.
Colazione abbondante con ogni tipologia di dolce e salato.

Ho avuto il piacere di soggiornare in questo hotel per 2 notti a inizio Marzo, regalandomi un esperienza completamente rilassante.

Location di fronte al mare, precisamente davanti la Costa dei Trabocchi, zona tranquilla e bellissima.
Struttura nuova, pulita e moderna con parcheggio e piscina.
Personale molto cordiale e accogliente.
Camere silenziose e luminose con balconcino vista mare, di un bianco che trasmette serenità, letto comodissimo!
Colazione abbondante e con una vasta scelta (torte di tutti i gusti, yogurt, croissant e molto altro). Sono rimasta colpita dal profumo di ogni ambiente e della pace che ti trasmette questo luogo.
Ideale per coppie e weekend romantici.
Super consigliato, ci ritornerò sicuramente!

L'hotel la chiave dei trabocchi mi ha offerto una bellissima esperienza! Camere curatissime,come anche il servizio e la posizione dell'hotel! Per quanto riguarda il cibo è presente un bravissimo chef stellato che esaudirà ogni tua esigenza! Consiglio senz'altro!

Ho avuto il piacere di trascorrere un piacevole soggiorno di 2 notti presso La Chiave dei Trabocchi di San Vito Chietino, con mia moglie.
La struttura è localizzata in una posizione tranquilla.
La procedura di check-in è stata rapida e senza intoppi, cosa particolarmente apprezzata. Il personale della reception si è mostrato estremamente cortese.
La camera in cui ho alloggiato era spaziosa, ben arredata e soprattutto pulita.
Particolarmente apprezzato è stato il buffet per la colazione con una vasta gamma di proposte dolci e salate che permette di assecondare stili di alimentazione di ogni tipo.
Anche il ristorante era eccellente, con un cibo ricco e vario e un servizio di qualità.
Il personale dell'hotel meriterebbe un plauso speciale. Dal momento del check-in alla partenza, sono stati cortesi, professionali e sempre disponibili ad accogliere ogni nostra esigenza. Tutto questo ha inevitabilmente reso il soggiorno il più famigliare possibile.

Soggiornavano i miei zii che ci hanno invita a cena, che dire cena a base di pesce " terrazza fronte mare"alta qualità e professionalità con il cameriere luigi sempre pronto e disponibile a qualsiasi richiesta......ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Le camere a detta dei miei zii molto esigenti sono rimasti contentissimi.
