Taverna Dei Canti

Not a tourist trap but book online for substantial discount...
We were tourists in Palermo for five days, and Taverna dei Canti definitely did not trap us. Perhaps because we had done some research prior to arriving in Palermo and because it had appeared on several lists of good restaurants, it was on our short list. Even so, we made the decision to try them for dinner at the last minute but knew enough to call for a reservation before 7:30pm. As expected, the restaurant was completely packed but with reservations we were seated immediately. We enjoyed their Carbonara, Clams and made up our own plate of the Panarea Tuna from Main Sea Courses and Grilled Vegetables from the side dishes. Even with our waters and wines, the bill was very reasonable. And better yet, because we had known to book online, we were thrilled to benefit from a 35%+ "sconto" (usually only a 30% discount) which of course made our dining experience more memorable. We enjoyed the upbeat and fun restaurant atmosphere, excellent service, savory food, the great value and would highly recommend.

Can't fault anything! The pasta was delicious, the cheesy artichoke was to die for and the service was great, super attentive.

Oh my God! This place was one of my best choices during our stay in Palermo. The server recommended us to get the restaurateur's combo offer that includes 2 drinks (cocktails, beer or wine) and it comes with a huge portion with different cheese, seafood, and salami. Everyone was really polite, everything was really fresh and delicious and the food came really fast. You should definitely give it a try!

Lovely Staff, recommendations were perfect, enjoyed it very much! And the spritz have a nice kick 🍹finish with a glass of limoncello 😋 highly recommend

100% Recommended. 10/10. An exceptional menu (Complimenti allo Chef) with impeccable service. I loved the fresh catch lobster pasta. They ended our meal with a glass of limoncello and a deliciously deconstructed cannolo. A wonderful meal to be sure.

Best service in the old city, fresh drinks and good music as well ! The Spaghetti with Lobster and tomato were so tasty, and the pesto gnocchis with fromaggi were just incredible ! Bassem was so helpful with the menu choice, and so outgoing ! Definitely recommend ! Bassem ya dawla 🙏🏽

I had the Sicilian ragu with burrata and it was a delicious choice. The staff are attentive and friendly- would definitely come back if ever I'm back in Palermo!

Actually we were hesitant to eat here and avoiding the “tourist” strip of restaurants… We ended up defeated after reviews and calls and bookings filled and walking all over town. We didn’t know what to expect and were this very surprised at how clever and tasteful and seemingly well prepared the food was… Very good, I’d eat it again and in fact looking at my photos I am wishing I could eat it now! Very happy with the experience albeit it incredibly busy and energetic and shoulder to shoulder in many ways. They found a way to keep service functional and overall quite fast without compromising quality. They have my respects! Cheers…

The service is fabulous, super friendly, helpful, and fast. Andrea is a wonderful bartender and their vucciria sour is amazing! I don’t even like gin but I ordered a second. It is also a great location for groups with mixed diets of vegan and meat eating. I am including the vegan options in the menu, just order without cheese where I highlighted in red. Highly recommend!
