I'm surprised by the many negative reviews. Having arrived in the city quite late on a Sunday evening, we weren't yet familiar with the area. The restaurant in front of our hotel may have looked nice, but it was much too expensive for us. Just a few meters away, in the direction of the church and train station, we saw this place offering a fixed menu for 15 euro. The waiter and other staff couldn't have been nicer! There were only a few other tables occupied. I don't know if that is what made our experience so different from many others. We received proper attention and service throughout the meal and the waiter was friendly enough to initiate a conversation with us. The fettuccine Bolognese was delicious and seemed homemade! The portions were good and everything was done in a timely manner. In my opinion, there were only two drawbacks: firstly, there weren't many choices on the menu which could be a sore point for tourists looking for an authentic experience and secondly, although we were in an outdoor seating area, it seemed as if we were inside as there was little breeze to help with the heat. Overall, a very good experience.

Family feel with traditional items at a reasonable price. I had a wonderful Fettuccine Bolognese with bread and a beer for less than €15. The server did not speak any English, but was so patient and helpful.

Seating was under a large arch and was great for people watching. Pompei is lively and well lit in the evening and this was a great stop with locals and tourists.

You shouldn't judge a book by its cover ;) From the outside the restaurant looks like a couple of tables quite near to the street which doesn't give you much comfort. When asked "do you want to sit in the garden?" - this was crucial part of the evening. In the garden you have comfort, enough room to host bigger group of guests and at the same time enjoy the silence which Pompeii could offer. The people working here are great, the food is delicious and fresh, you don't need to wait long for it, and the coffee is spot on, after a rich dinner. Thumbs up!

Amazing food for the price and location. Authentic, have seen a bunch of locals eat here, but multilingual waiter and menues. Not too many people at lunchtime on a summer Tuesday so service was quick and friendly. Eggplant parmigiana, Spaghetti with clams and pasta w/ pomodoro highly recommended. Sauces made from scratch. Waiter brought out little fried zucchini balls which were delicious. if you order wine you get a huge glass filled to the brim.

Good food at a reasonable price. I enjoyed my pasta (8€) and the wine was a good size pour for 5€. They also gave us a free taste of pizza that was delish.

This was a treat and what I have been craving since arriving in Napoli and Amalfi Coast. We went today for lunch, after a visit to Pompeii and took our chances with the set lunch menu. Not only our linguine vongole was delicious, we also were given the incredibly fresh seafood fritto misto. We had a 1/4 of red wine and bread and banana for dessert and paid 35 € for 2 people. The nonna running the house gave us respect back when treated with respect. As tourists we are coming to their house and they are not obliged to speak our language. I saw disrespectful behaviour around me while eating my meal and was surprised with some of the reviews.

I am a fine dining professional chef, I know high quality service and Michelin star standards. This is not the place. This is a humble, family old fashioned business. The food was delicious. I don’t speak perfect Italian, but I tried and respected the waiter and owner. For that reason got offered amazing fish fritters and limoncello as kind perks.

This place was awful for lunch. I see why it’s ratings are what they are.

Gross below average food. A musician came in and began to play 2 songs while the TV was very loud during our meal. The musician came around and wanted $$$ for playing 2 songs we did not ask him to entertain us, quit begging please.
The bill was not legible so we don’t know if we owed them the correct amount.

Go somewhere else.

Fantastic. No fuss but plenty of variety food. Friendly and enthusiastic staff. Finally found a place not ripping off tourist, joyful experience

Good pasta, tasty fish & seafood. Good ice-cream (gelateria next door). Decent wine. Great service. Reasonably priced. Had a great time.
