Villa Malfitano

Opening hours on Google are wrong: I arrived a 9, but they opened at 9:30. It transpired to be a guided tour (which I did not know and was told 20 minutes after I had walked around the house on my own. But the tour was FANTASTIC. 9 Euro. Two hours of highly erudite really interesting tour in Italian. No rushing, all questions answered. All furniture and household goods including clothes are still there; everything well preserved, nothing ruined. The only negative was that we were not shown into the orangeries/verandas - there was a grey parrot there, all alone - and parrots are sociable intelligent animals, they need company, or they go insane. That was sad. But overall: this villa is an absolute must. Top attraction in Palermo.

Wow!! This place is SO romantic! I love the soft maintenance of the grounds and the sense of what once was. Be sure to take the path that doesn’t look like anyone else did…you’ll find unexpected things at the end of each one!

Villa Malfitano is simply awesome. It is a villa of a family Whitaker, englishmen installed in nineteenth century in Palermo. It contains the nice interiors with original affairs of that epoch. Villa can be attended in guided visit that lasts about 1 hour and should be reserved in advance. Just phone them at least 1 day before and book your visit. The garden is also very nice and is available in free visit.

Beautiful Villa situated pleasant gardens. Villa open only on specific dates, and it is essential to book. Rooms furnished with style. Our tour was in Italian, but interesting history with English links.

Beautifully preserved home featuring wonderful collections of different types. Outstanding wall tapestry and furniture. Very kind staff. Made me wish I feel I had gone back in time — I only wished I could have stayed in the past longer. Beautiful garden, too. An oasis of peace in Palermo.

Loved that place! We got there accidently and woman guide showed us the whole villa with English comments. Although she warned us that it is difficult for her to speak in English anyway we understood everything and were surprised with luxury of this villa. Very interesting interior, textile walls, pretty furniture and cute cute from the top of the village. Great place!

Perfect example of Sicilian art nouveau. Main rooms on first floor are beautifully preserved and well furnished. Don't miss the solarium upstairs.

Superbe une bien belle demeure visite guidée en italien et il faut.mieux téléphoner pour réserver 9euro. Le salon de snooker est magnifique

A legizgalmasabb "múzeum" ahol valaha jártam. Minden érintésnyi távolságban van! Szinte semmilyen tárgy sincs kordon vagy üvegfal mögött! Gyakorlatilag csak a jólneveltséged szab gátat annak, hogy megfogdosd Mr. Whitaker személyes tárgyait. Minden eredeti, az idegen vezető minden kérdésre ad választ. 9€ volt a belépő, idegenvezetéssel körülbelül 1 óra volt a látogatás. Mindenképp javaslom megtekintésre!
A főbejárat rendszerint zárva van, csengetni kell. Ezután nyitnak ajtót és segítőkészen vezetnek körbe a villán. Méltatlanul kevesen látogatják, ami talán a belvárostól való távolsága miatt lehet. Egyébként 1/2 óra kényelmes séta a Massimo operaháztól.
Az a gyanúm, hogy addig kell megnézni a villát amig ilyen "családias". Amennyiben tömegek látogatják majd, biztos vagyok benne, hogy korlátozás lesznek, idegenvezető kevésbé lesz elérhető, valamint kordonokkal határolják majd a látogatható teret a helyiségekben.
Abszolút 5 csillagos hely!

E' stata una bellissima visita, la guida (sig.ra Celona) molto preparata, partecipe e competente.
La villa ti porta indietro nel tempo e tutte le stanze sono arredate con mobili e suppellettili dell'epoca.
Tutto è tenuto in ordine e mentre la guida illustra le stanze ti sembra che la casa sia ancora abitata.....
E' uno dei gioielli di questa città, merita e ne consiglio la visita.

Bellissima, ricchissima di opere d'arte ben conservate. Racconta la storia siciliana nell'eclettismo di stili di fine ottocento.
