My absolute favourite tourist visit while in Palermo, there was no one else there so we had the place to ourselves and there were few attendants so it felt like we were walking through a historical palace on our own. Beautiful furnishings and history, a special place

Hidden away gem, $6 entry fee was great value for a real look back in time to how other people lived, amazing opulence

A great little find, how the nobles lived back in the day! Completely worth a visit, and all for only €6!

An interesting surprise. The outside doesn't match with what is inside. Grandeur from the past. Absolutely worthy to spend your time there. Took me more than an hour and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Beautiful! I am a tour guide in Italy, so I’ve seen it all:) But this is a gem. The place takes you back in time to show you how a wealthy family lived through centuries. Some still live this way. Truly amazing!

Despite being a little worn off, the Palazzo is truly impressive and beautiful. It's very interesting to see how the nobility lived back then.
Well worth the visit if you ask me.

Although in some rooms the decor is falling apart and clearly needs restoration the Palazzo is great. It reflects what it must have been to live as a noble in excess. Now impossible to sustain.

Great building with beautiful interior decoration and lots of old furniture. The place is like a giant puzzle with tiny rooms all over the place. Some wonderful ceilings and interesting furniture.

Home for four centuries to the Filangeri family of ancient aristocracy: the most important norman dinasty of south Italy.
The palace visit includes more than 60 rooms, of which over 20 are covered in acres of silk and velvet wallpaper. Add to this a Chinese living room, plus a smoking salon with dyed Cordovan leather walls, and the Lounge of Diana where a swiveling statue leads to a "secret service" passageway. To end with the seahells rocaille fountain hiding another passage which was used to exit without being seen.
To admire also a 400 pieces Meissen China set decorated with many bird species, and the kitchen from where the dishes were brought up to the dining room through another hidden passage.
My favourite memory is at ground floor where stables and carriages bring back into the great past.

Dreamy palazzo inhabited by the princess up to recent decades. The throne room is most impressive with brocade wallpaper. At 5euros its a bargain and more impressive than most other palazzi in Palermo.

Beautiful and well maintained villa. Just 6€ for entrance ticket. Too bad the 2nd floor was closed.

I read The Leopard (about a 19th century Sicilian nobleman) before my first visit to Sicily, and this museum made that important Sicilian novel really come alive. It offers a realistic window into life in Palermo in the 18th and 19th centuries, because both the building and the contents were kept together. We visited this using a combined ticket with the nearby Palazzo Abatellis, which turned out to be a good value.

Pretty much invisible and anonymous from the street but a lot to see, even with the upper floor closed on my visit.

A museum with imposing premises and magnificent exhibition rooms. You should plan about an hour for the visit.

A well preserved Palace of how the upper echelons of Palermo lived.
