This was one of the many palazzi in Palermo. One that is a little unknown maybe? So many works. So little people. Great information in every room on the artwork. Many at least 500-600 years old. Take a look at the photos. Mine and others. You get a great sense of the building. And the art. So well preserved and presented too. A must

I really liked this museum. It is not big , but is is situated in very nice building ( properly palazzo Abatellis) and has a nice collection of religious paintings, wood carvings and marble statues and bareliefs . Also the restorators are working directly in the museum halls. We had a chance to see the process of art restoration

A museum with lots of works of art. Inside it is a beautiful painting which is “bigger” than the museum itself! Go and find it! Enjoy!

So many paintings and frescos are here. Antonello de Messina’s Annunciata is the most important. But you can stare a long time at “Trionfo della Morte” and reflect on it. I was simply captivated by this collection, not to mention all those Baroque paintings and Pietro Novelli’s oeuvre. More than perfect and entry for only 8 Euro.

The sheer size and the ability of the artist who created the Triumph of Death will leave you breathless.... the beauty of these regional gallery is the art is good, very accessible and often not crowded... and this one is exceptional.

Precious museum with late middle age, early renacimiento peces of art. The majority of them are locally made. Worth a visit, for sure.

An inspiring building re-use that is modern but leaves the sense of the Renaissance Palazzo. Collection is excellent from Norman to 16th Century - including an interesting floor of Caravaggio school that includes a fantastic VanEyck or two.

Such a beautiful setting for incredible works - the Carlo Scarpa designs in particular.

Outstanding collection in a well organized exhibition space. Unfortunately, the lighting design leaves something to be desired.

Probably my favorite museum in Palermo, with a beautiful collection of medieval and Renaissance christian art. Would be worth going for the medieval triptych rooms alone.

I had an amazing interaction with one of the attendants, the lady was very knowledgeable and shared some great information on 'the triumph of death' or 'Trionfo della morte' fresco and the 'Annunsiazione' I unfortunately didn't get her name to credit her but some of the artworks were amazing and worth seeing the Vasari works too.

My love is small regional museums - I realized it today, visiting this one. I appreciate unframed works, big spaces, very friendly staff. I realized they are closing (public holiday), only when one of the workers had gently escorted me down the stairs, chatting. I so appreciated it!
“Annunciata” is the must - it is Italy’s national treasure.
Excellent museum, thank you!

Amazing museum which interior and reconstruction was designed by the famous venetian architect Carlo Scarpa. The pur aesthetics support the rich collection of the Sicilian Regional Museum.

We enjoyed the shady courtyard during the hot hours. It’s an absolute must-see

This is the National Gallery of Sicily. Well worth a visit but mainly displays religious paintings from the 15th & 16th century. Not huge, under 20 rooms in total but well arranged. We spent about 2 hrs at this museum.
