The hotel is beautiful and located in the pristine mountains. The food is superb (especially the fresh yogurt in the morning), and staff are wonderful. Mirko and Edith are phenomenal hosts who made sure everyone was well taken care of and went above and beyond answering all of our questions and requests. Ingrid and Erwin made the most delicious 5-course breakfasts and dinners, and their soups are out of this world delicious. When I get a chance to come back to Senale, I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Zum Hirschen is a place to relax and to enjoy the slow days with family or partner. For us it was the perfect stop to close a four week trip. The staff was very helpful to show us good hikes, wineries and other things to do in the neighborhood, while caring for us with great attention to detail every breakfast and dinner. The culinary experience was a great bonus we won’t forget soon.

We spent a week at this beautiful hideaway in Senale. Mirko and his charming and hospitable family made us feel very welcome. They organised guides, picnics, recommended hiking routes and even took us mountain biking. Our every need was catered for.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and the food worthy of michelin stars. We spent the next week at a 5 star hotel but the fondest memories of our trip to the region will always be those made at Zum Hirschen. Can't wait to return!

Overall, we loved Zum Hirschen. We went for a weekend package which included stay and food, and brought the dog along. The hotel is family owned and run, and they work hard - we saw Mirko there at 9PM at night checking on our dinner and again at 8AM at breakfast! The rooms are minimalist-style with an Austrian feel to them. Ours had a beautiful view of the town church. The automated skylight window was a real plus to get fresh air at night and some great morning light. The shower and bathroom were spotless, and loved the lemon grass scented soaps. I'm picky about bedsheets and they did good - jersey cotton fitted sheets and basic natural cotton comforter sheets and pillows. There is no TV in the room and cell reception is poor - but honestly, I appreciated the forced stop from the outside world. I mean, you don't come to the mountains to watch TV or check email.

The food at the hotel was exceptional. They didn't hit the mark on every dish, but I really loved their dedication to local food and their creativity. For a small hotel, it's properly impressive. The breakfast was a proper multi course meal! It included homemade bread, jams, local range eggs, local smoked meats and cheese, cake and yogurt. The two dinners we had were also incredible. We had the pre-fix menu one night and the al a carte the other. The pre-fix was overall good - chicken infused with herbs was a stand out for it's simplicity and the depth of marination. The risotto was the only dish overall we didn't like, as it was quite strong on the radicchio which overpowered it, but honestly it was well prepared, just not our taste. The bar served a sacher cake which was one of the best I ever had. Seriously worth the stop just for coffee and cake on the terrace.

The overall location is good. The town was small, so not much to do within walking distance, but a lot of activities within 20 minutes of driving. We saw the waterfall which was incredible! We also went to the Novella canyon walk which Is definì super unique experience, but would recommend that you go without dogs or people who fear heights (we had both with us so needless to say we will come back next time on our own). Nevertheless, there's enough around the hotel to keep one busy with nature related activities for 4/5 days. Overall we will definitely come again, if just for the food and tranquility!

Our new favourite five-star guest + chef house. They make amazing food and have incredible design touches in every square meter. Bring hiking sticks, your credit card and and empty stomach.

I am writing this in English because many English speakers would be interested in this hotel. In short, the rooms are great, the prices very reasonable and the ambiance and food is terrific. Gasthof Zum Hirschen is located in a delightful village that is great for just walking around. The people are very friendly and you'll find that a few speak English as well. Try the Tiroler Herren - Gröstl. This is a local "farm dish" that you will definitely enjoy.

This hotel is excellent. Very clean, amazing history, and the food is top knotch. The town and location cannot be beat for this unique Austrian/Italian region.

We stayed for two nights. Booking, from friday to sunday, a double room for myself and my wife, and a single for my mom. In the booking we included their special 5 course dinner for saturday. It was simply unbelievable. Staff is kind and caring. They always welcome you with a smile and are eager to explain what the meals are made of and what inspired the menu (which changes every day!). The food itself is out of this world, their almost magical use of alpine herbs and local grown products is superb.
When Mirko, the owner, welcomed us we could clearly see he is very proud of what he does. He made us feel absolutely pampered. Never once he was "too busy", even in hectic hours. He was always kind on answering all our questions about the food and the surroundings.
The rooms are an exquisite minimalist design, comfortable and clean. The first night was so relaxing that we didn't even felt falling asleep. We just woke up the next moring after feeling great.
The location itself is, to simply put it, amazing. Thanks to Mirko's vision the transition from the hotel to the woods around is seamless. Everything is quiet, and time seemed to slow down just for us.
We also brought our dog and, again, not even once we felt unwelcomed. They were kind, and even when our pup started exploring the hotel (our mistake, we forgot our room door open), they didn't freak out or reacted badly. On the contrary they were laughing with us.
Definitely a place where we would go again, and will with absolutely no doubt advise everyone I know to go there.

Truly one of my favorite places to retreat from the world in Europe. Their location is wonderful, food is absolutely amazing and the family that runs the business is wonderful.

Für uns, da wir das Hotel seit vielen Jahren kennen, ist bereits die Vorfreude groß. Es ist ein Urlaubs-Zuhause, wo wirklich Alles, für uns stimmt. Die besonderen Mahlzeiten, ihre raffinierten Zubereitungen immer mit Liebe zu den heimischen Zutaten. Auch die angenehme Atmosphäre im Haus der Chic und die Gemütlichkeit der Einrichtungen. Ebenso wie die Hoteliersfamilie, auch spät abends, selbstverständlich freundlich für Sonderwünsche und Fragen immer offen und professionell ist. Es passt für uns wirklich ALLES, besser ist es nicht möglich.

Der Gasthof zum Hirschen ist ein Ort, an dem wir Ruhe und Erholung gefunden haben. Das Zimmer war reduziert und stilvoll eingerichtet. Besonders schön fand ich den Fußboden aus Lärchenholz.
Sowohl Frühstück, als auch Abendessen ließen keine Wünsche offen. Wir waren während der Löwenzahnwochen da und ich war erstaunt darüber, wie selbstverständlich der Löwenzahn in die Gerichte eingearbeitet wurde. Vielen Dank für diese tolle Leistung!

Ankommen und Wohlfühlen - ein perfekter Ort für ein paar erholsame und genussvolle Tage. Hier stimmt einfach alles - der freundliche und professionelle Service, das stilvolle Ambiente ud die außergewöhnliche Küche. Für alle Aktiv-Urlauber gibt es in der unmittelbaren Umgebung viel zu erwandern oder mit dem MTB zu erkunden. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können das Haus rundum empfehlen.

Wir hatten mit dem Hotel einen hervorragenden Basispunkt für unsere mehrtägige Motorradtour in die Dolomiten und Trentino.
Die Halbpension war eine gute Wahl, das Frühstück und Abendessen war vom Feinsten. Die Motorräder standen trocken unterm Dach. Wenn wir irgendwann noch mal in der Gegend sind, dann auf jeden Fall im "GASTHOF ZUM HIRSCHEN" Besten Dank an das gesamte Team. Beste Grüße Peter

La nostra famiglia visita questo hotel da 42 anni, ed è diventato come una seconda casa per noi. Siamo sempre felici di vedere come si migliora costantemente in ogni aspetto, dalla cucina ai più piccoli dettagli. È un vero piacere per noi essere qui.

Ein Ort der Ruhe , Slow Food gelebt und unglaublich lecker, gut ausgewogene Portionen, geschmacklich eine Explosion , einfach ein Wahnsinn.
Das Gebäude in sich eine Meisterleistung in Renovation. Der Grad der Moderne und des Bestand ist wirklich geglückt. Fazit: noch nie so eine exzellente Küche in einer so runden abgeschlossenen Umgebung erlebt.
Danke für die nette Bewirtung. Die Bilder sind nur ein kleiner Auszug aus der Küche. Das gelungene Bauwerk steht im GEO unter den 100 TOP gelungenen Renovierungen in Europa….

Io e la mia fidanzata siamo stati coccolati fin dall'arrivo nell'albergo.
Ci siamo goduti 4 giorni di pace e relax in una terra meravigliosa e grazie all'attenzione del personale siamo stati meglio che a casa.
Ringrazio tutti per i bei momenti trascorsi insieme e sono sicuro che ritorneremo presto.

Ciò che più colpisce di questo hotel immerso nella natura è l'atmosfera raccolta e rigenerante che vi si respira. A partire dalla camera, spaziosa, luminosa, pulitissima, con set da bagno composto da prodotti naturali di grande qualità, fino alla sauna, corredata (su richiesta) da saponi peeling fatti a mano e oli essenziali. Non mancano tisane alle erbe e frutta secca e fresca nella confortevole zona relax.
Colazione abbondante preparata al momento servita al tavolo in più portate e/o a buffet. Cena squisita e piatti particolari. Assistenza per la pianificazione delle escursioni a piedi o in mountain bike. Bellissima la filosofia dell'hotel incentrata sull'essenzialità e la sostenibilità, sulla tradizione altoatesina e trentina, sulla valorizzazione dei prodotti biologici locali. Grande cura verso il cliente. Riposo, ottima cucina e sana attività tra le stupende montagne della Val di Non vi aspettano.

Ebenso ist die Küche aus unserer Sicht ein Geheimtipp Südtirols.
Einfach ein Traum hier zu sein und die Ruhe, die Vollbremsung aus dem Leben, in allen Zügen zu geniessen.

Schlicht und stimmig eingerichtete Zimmer und dennoch vermissten wir absolut nichts.

Mit einzigartigem Frühstück und hervorragendem Abendessen in Menüform haben sich Ingrid und Erwin mehr als übertroffen.

Edith, Ingrid und Mirko standen mit Rat und Tat zur Verfügung, wenn es um Fragen und Wünsche rund um die Freizeitgestaltung ging.

Außergewöhnlicher herzlicher Umgang, wir fühlten uns familiär aufgenommen, mehr als wohl und nicht „nur“ als Gäste.

Wir freuen uns, euch im nächsten Frühjahr wieder besuchen zu dürfen.
