Trattoria L'Orologio

A very famous place to try local Taranto dishes like octopus, fried fish food or tubettini, fagioli e cozze (pasta tubes with beans and mushrooms in a kind of “soup”).
Also prices are very very low!!!

We lucked out here. Came across this restaurant because it was near our accommodation.
The food is great, the prices are even better.
The cozze were so good, we ordered a 2nd serve!

5 star because of the price you pay for your bill. You will never eat as cheap around the country. Of course the quality of ingredients is simple and pretty low but this place is well managed and highly organized. The line outside can be frustrating at first until you see the outdoor menu that shows pasta dishes for as low as €3. We paid €22 and we ate more than enough.

We had a wonderful dinner at Trattoria L'Orlogio. Everything was delicious, very well cooked, the service was very fast and friendly. The prices are very low for good quality food. We tried the marinated polpo, the molds, some pasta, fish and meat, everything was very good.

Surprising low prices and good quality. You have to wait a bit to enter but while you sit everything goes fast.

Very typical experience in the old Tarento. The restaurant is crowded with locals, so be confident to find a good restaurant.

Prices are more than attractive, service is great and fast, waiters speak english and even french.

I would more than recommend to eat there when passing in Tarento.

When you are by a tipical Italian restauran eating specialities with a real atmosphere that make you feeling as part of the local comunity you have found HOME.

Good service, cheap, fast and food is really good. It is always full and you can't book a table in advance, need to go and wait but it is worth it! It is a really local place where you can have the famous local cozze (mussels) and feel very local. Totally recommend it!

Best polpo amd fried seafood with affordable prices, popular with the locals. They also serve horse meat. House wine here was questionable.

Simple, local food. Great atmosphere. The best value for money I have seen in Italy since before the Euro, 3 course lunch for 3 people including wine - €38. Unbelievable

Worth the travel just to get a pasta mussels (spaghetti e cozze) €3 or fish (pesce) €5 or anything. Try it with local beer and expect a long line (una lunga coda)

Historically known worker's trattoria gets a revamp moving from old Taranto and closer to the train station. Optimal relations between price, quality and portions.. family budget friendly..

Let's begin with the price, the best! Food was awesome and service spectacular. Try parking in front of the restaurant and going early helps . No reservations
