Osteria alla Piazza

We didn't plan to stop here for lunch, but I'm so glad we did! An incredible view from the panoramic dining room over the rolling hills and vineyards make a perfect backdrop for local wine and food. The pappardelle with wild boar ragout was delicious, well seasoned, and very hearty. Service was prompt and friendly, and the menu had a great assortment of local and house-made dishes. I highly recommend treating yourself to a savory meal and sweeping views at Osteria alla Piazza.

Fantastic dining experience. It's easy for restaurants to get away with merely mediocre food and service in isolated/touristy regions, but osteria alla piazza transcended the tourist trap routine. It has beautiful views from both its outdoor patio and indoor dining room of the rolling tuscany hills before you.

The staff was very friendly and prompt with water, wine and food service.

The antipasti of aubergine flan with fresh truffles was delicious and smooth. Maybe a little heavy on the shaved truffles. The baked pear with pancetta was refreshing and also very tasty. Both were well portioned for a starter size. The primi of risotto with fresh asparagus and bacon was amongst the best dishes I've had in Italy. The asparagus was clearly fresh and well prepared, while the risotto itself was rich and hearty without being heavy. The paparadelle with wild boar was of typical Tuscan cuisine and well made. Pasta noodles were not soggy nor undercooked and the boar meat flavoured wonderfully. For the secondi we split a platter of deep fried meats and vegetables and it was well seasoned, not greasy but still crunchy with a wonderful mix of vegetables.

The wine list was good and they had desserts that we were too full to sample. Price was extremely reasonable for the quality of the food, location and service.

We stopped randomly at this restaurant for a lunch. If I say it exceeded all our expectations - it won’t be enough. Service was great, we had local specialists eg pasta with porcini, steak with porcini and the local dessert, of course - cantucci vin santo. The Wine suggestion was devine

Super nice and quite restaurant in a small village in Chianti area with some seasonal delicious dishes. The staff was super sweet and the food was amazing!

Read other reviews and all I can say is if you want cheap food go to McDonalds and if you want a drink go to a bar or pub! If you want a good meal with beautiful scenery and are in the area try this restaurant, well worth the trip from England.

Beautiful place to have food and wine, we had stag fillet and boar with some fabulous local wine. The restaurant is immaculate and the staff were excellent. All in an amazing setting

Quiet location with great views over the Chianti countryside. The staff were superb, attentive, knowledgeable about the food and were happy to use their good English in spite of my lousy attempts at Italian. View, food and ambience is perfect. And it won’t kill your wallet.

We find this place randomly and it was an amazing culinary experience. We have a Prosecco Ferrari with Beef Tartare and the Formato dei Melanzane funghi, Tartufo. We had also the daily specials that were also delicious. Dessert was also outstanding. Thanks a lot to Gino and Stefano as well as the chef and cooking staff.

Great place. Easy to find and ample parking. Best thing on the menu is the Balsamic Fillet. Best steak I have EVER eaten - so tender and delicious. The place is very busy and popular, so call ahead for a reservation. Our server was very attentive, given the number of tables she had to attend to. This is my FAVORITE restaurant in CHIANTI!!!! Try it and see for yourself!!!

Really great menu options, including some fantastic Stag and Rabbit dishes. Friendly staff and just stunning views across the Chanti hills. Also a really well thought through wine menu, including some really great Chianti Classico options. Ask the staff as they were very knowledgeable about the Chianti wines. A real gem in the heart of the Chianti hills.

We first went to Osteria in 2003 for lunch and since then on every visit back to Panzano (10 ×) have had dinner at Osteria. You can now book on Open Table, food and service, as usual very good. Ask for a terrace table.
