Rastrello is a perfect hotel in the heart of historic Panicale. It blends in perfectly with the existing buildings yet is modern and immaculate inside. The building quality, decor and furnishings are fantastic and provided for a very comfortable stay.
Breakfast was delicious and relaxed while dinner was first class at extremely reasonable prices.
All the staff are super friendly, attentive and actually helpful which is a pleasant change! The owners were always there and always ready to go the extra mile to make our stay perfect including arranging trips and dinners out locally.
I'm looking forward to my next visit.

A beautifully renovated hotel with excellent staff and service. The value is good and the location is ideal within Panicale. The town is quiet, but there are convenient restaurants and a small grocery store and pharmacy. The views from the hotel are very good as well, and the staff is knowledgeable and very willing to help. Overall a great stay.

Where to begin!
This is the dreamiest place! The hotel is nestled in a beautiful small town overlooking amazing Tuscan views. The staff was attentive and friendly. They have several activities you can book that are included and the restaurant is phenomenal.

We traveled to Panicale for just two nights of our journey through this region of
Italy. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, they consistently reminded us that we are part of the family.

We took a cooking class on our first full day at the home of the owner’s mother, she runs a farm that supplies the hotel - she was also our translator and helper. We really got to connect with her and the chef - they were both so welcoming. We got to pick some of the herbs and vegetables from the garden right before we started cooking. Chef Niccola was fantastic! He was extremely organized and talented and made this experience fun for all of us. The menu he arranged was easy to follow and to easy to prepare, needless to say the food was absolutely delicious. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience for my husband and I.

The hotel itself is well renovated and the space is well laid out. There’s a lift for you to carry luggage upstairs with, 3 parking spots behind the building, and a very nice terrace to sit at during the day.

We had dinner on our last night at the restaurant, it was pizza and beer night. The pizzas were delicious, fairly priced, and the beer was well paired. Hats off to the staff and management. One of the best hotel experiences ever. 👏🏻👏🏻

The Rastrello Hotel is a true gem and surpassed our expectations in every way, offering an unforgettable experience that combines luxury, hospitality, and tranquility.
The staff at Rastrello provided impeccable service & went above and beyond to cater to our needs, providing personalized attention that made us feel like a VIP from check-in to check-out. Whether it's arranging transportation, recommending local attractions, or fulfilling special requests, the staff's dedication is truly commendable.
The rooms were designed to ensure a restful retreat after a day of exploring the many activities the helpful staff scheduled for us available in a 30 minute radius.
Our stay at Rastrello left us feeling pampered, refreshed, and eager to return.

This hotel has been one of the BEST I have visited any where in the world. It is a Marriott, but here is what is unique. It certainly is a boutique experience, beautiful building in the small town on Panicale. Elevated about 400 m you have a beautiful view of the Umbria and South Tuscany regions. The hotel is also very small, allowing room for a very personable experience. Both Martina and Alexia, in the front desk, were EXCEPTIONAL! I noticed that they help with much more than the front desk, including serving breakfast and helping with bags to the room. I really enjoyed the hotel’s lounge where you can have cappuccinos any time of the day and wine and appetizers in the afternoons. They offered a selection of different wines and spirits over the few days we were onsite. We stayed in one of the hotel apartments which was just steps away right in the main plaza. I only have one recommendation, and that is to put a bell on the main hotel gate entrance as sometimes when one comes to the apartment into the lounge the get is still close and there is no way to alert the hotel staff. Absolutely top-notch experience. Way to show up in Panicale Marriott; knocked it out of the park!

Definitely one of the best hotel experiences of my life. Gorgeous retrofitted interior inside a quaint building in a picturesque town. Small (7 rooms only) with impeccable service and personalized attention that is clearly genuine—among every employee you encounter.
Free wine, sparkling water and coffee available at all times in the lounge.
The views from the location atop the hills, looking down over low-lying fields and lake, are breathtaking.

The owner clearly thinks about the customer experience in everything he does.

The location is remote so do not come here if you are looking for lots of activities or a bustling town center (Perugia is 40 minutes drive). Perfect for 2 days relaxed stay in authentic countryside town.
Would give 6 stars if possible.

Amazing hotel - design, service and food. Staff makes you feel at home, always looking to help you with reservations, luggage, parking etc. Views were incredible from our the rooms and there are stylish and modern amenities. Restaurant was very reasonably priced and great quality. Very quiet generally but there may be a bit of nearby construction during this summer, which you can hear only from the outdoor patio. There is parking on the street but it can be a tight squeeze, there is also a parking lot if you are willing to walk a bit.

Loved staying at the Rastrello hotel in Panicale. During our stay in the appartement we truly felt being a part of the residents of Panicale. The village is very authentic and has really nice restaurants with friendly staff.

The appartement is very nice & gives you good value for money. I would recommend choosing this room.

In the close vicinity there are not really many things to doo, but the staff gave us really nice recommendations to go. For example they recommended us to go to the NUN spa for a spa day, which was truly amazing.

I do have some small recommendations for the hotel as well. First off I would increase the amount of choices guest have in the restaurant for breakfast, maybe adding pancakes or muffins for example. Secondly I would either increase the water pressure or change the shower heads. The water stream in the shower is just way to weak and it takes very long until it reaches the right temperature (and stays that way). Lastly I would add some hooks in the bedroom where you can hang your bathrobe. At the side of the closet for example.

At last I would really like the personnel of the hotel that made out stay really worthwhile. We loved it there & would really recommend staying here.

I was at the restaurant and had a great evening. Lovely staff - very pleasant even if it was a busy evening. I didn't catch their names, but for what's worth, the two girls were so great. She didn't have to go the gym, because of all the stairs she had to walk bringing the food 😁 will come again. Next time probably to stay at the hotel.

Rastrello truly is a hidden gem. It's tucked away in the charming and picturesque hillside town of Panicale. It commands a staggering view of valleys, lakes, and mountains across Umbria and Tuscany.
The hotel itself is charming on the outside and chic on the inside. It has a beautiful courtyard that overlooks the valley. The common areas are beautifully furnished and come with complimentary wine, beers, coffee and snacks. The food at the restaurant is also top notch. Finally, the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive.
We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly come back again

A beautiful designer hotel in the most stunning location! Such a treat to wake up with a view of the lake and countryside, and the sound of birds singing. Every comfort is taken care of in the hotel. The food and drinks were wonderful - try their Bloody Mary made with the freshest tomatoes. The boutique size makes it feel like your own home. It is also super easy to stroll into the small town and walk through the charming streets. Superb ❤

Amazing boutique hotels. Only 7rooms. It has has a cozy lounge and a hotel restaurant downstair. The rooms are equipped with very modern and high end fitting. The hotel are up in the mountain medieval town of Panicale, the views are wide and amazing. The medieval town itself have few restaurants, a bar and a Piazza. A place to rejuvenate and calm. Recommended.

The hotel is amazing with a great view on the beautiful landfill and the lake. Our room was very cosy. The breakfast was excellent with homemade food like jam and delicious handmade glutenfree bread & muffins!! In the evening you get local & tasty food and drinks, with good homemade snacks like cheese cantuccini. The tourist advices for trips around Panicale were very good & helpful.

A wonderful hotel that upgraded our travel experience in Umbria! The vision of its construction, the respect for the architecture and the traditions of Panicale was evident. We had tasty and delicious breakfast & dinner. The above in combination with the kind & helpful people of the hotel made us feel like we were guests in a friendly country house and we hope to be able to be back!

Excellent hotel with great views and good restaurants nearby. Service is also top notch. Breakfast nice and healthy. Rooms are very high quality. Only downside is need to drive a while from either Florence or Rome but it's worth it. Would stay again

Well it starts at the top. All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating.
We did need extra help with some people getting laundry done. Our meals were all excellent. The rooms were large with good views. Our dinner in the lounge was excellent. The Chef taught a cooking class on a rainy day. And we found the best hole in the wall watering hole. All of my boxes were checked. So thanks Rastrello. I will be back.

I’ve never written a review for a hotel but our recent stay at Rastrello was so amazing that I just had to write one!

Every single thing about Rastrello was perfect. The staff is amazing, every single person there was super nice and really went above and beyond for everyone. Here are a few examples of how great they are: They helped us plan our days in the region and gave us amazing recommendations. Chiara was super patient and helpful and truly the best! My son became obsessed with lemonades and every day they made him a freshly squeezed one and then on Easter Sunday they gave him an Easter chocolate egg which we weren’t expecting but it was the nicest, sweetest thing and perfect to end our week there.

The food was amazing, everything we tried was delicious and we loved that it was all made with local ingredients. They have a very nice selection of local wines that we enjoyed drinking and learning more about. The cocktails they made were delicious, too.

The place is also gorgeous. They made a fantastic job keeping some of the traditional charm and combining it with modern touches. The views ara incredible and the giardino is the perfect place to relax and have a drink after a day of sightseeing. The attention to detail was also amazing. They have USB outlets which made it super easy for us since we didn’t have enough power adapters and they had a crib and other things that made traveling with our toddler super easy.

All in all, our week at Rastrello was magical, we loved it and we can’t wait to go back again soon. Grazie mille, Rastrello!
