Absolutely amazing place! Staff and atmosphere and breakfast and cleanest, everything was great! Highly recommend it for Amalfi cost trip. Location is perfect close to Salerno but not in the city!

We just spent 3 weeks in Italy with the first few days here. Without a doubt this was our favourite accommodation of the entire trip.
The host was super accommodating and communicative and the staff were a treat to deal with. We also took the cooking course with resident chef Virginia which was another excellent choice.
We'd be delighted to return here in a heartbeat, it's like a home away from home!

We’ve so enjoyed our stay here.

The breakfast every morning is perfect, overlooking the sea and the main town. Wonderful espresso, homemade yogurt, an abundance of prosciutto and Buffalo mozzarella, with fresh tomatoes and pastries.

We found the room very comfortable (great pillows!) and loved our en-suite bathroom. Biggest shower I’ve ever used (we stayed in the camera exclusive, afrodite room). The AC in our room worked great. We had a balcony with again a stunning view.

The entire staff each went the extra mile to make our stay as smooth as possible, and each one of them was so kind. We loved the location - we were able to be at the beach in about 5 minutes. Walking in to town doesn’t take much longer, and we liked feeling as though we were getting some exercise while doing so. Coming back to the hotel at night always felt special because of the gorgeous garden you walk through at the entry when you arrive back. You know you’ve made it back when you can smell the jasmine flowers.

Overall I would choose vietri again and again as a destination along the Amalfi coast and would certainly recommend palazzo Suriano.

Grazie!

First note: if you're looking at places to stay, Veitri is the way to go- it's much quieter, significantly more affordable, & the touristy chaos of Positano is just a quick ferry ride away if that's what you crave (just don't miss the last ferry back- taxi's are pricey in Amalfi).

Second note: if you're in Vietri, Palazzo Suriano is the way to go. Staff was very kind, the palazzo itself is beautiful & easy to get to, the view is amazing, the food was some of the best we had in 2 weeks across Italy. We took the cooking class- highly recommended. Also- we read in a review before we booked that if Virginia asks you if you'd like to have dinner that you HAVE to say yes. My wife & I can now confirm that this was the right decision- it's a meal I'll dream of for years to come, zero regrets.

Had an amazing stay- in part because of the helpfulness & attentiveness of the good people at Palazzo Suriano. We have every intention of returning.

I have nothing but praise for our stay at Palazzo Suriano. Our hosts were generous and helpful, the views were stunning and the location was very ideal. The town of Vietri sul Mare is perfectly poised just to the south of Salerno, with its own beach and port.

The first night, our hosts made us a dinner reservation at a restaurant up the hill and we enjoyed some wonderful seafood. We also had quick access to the beach and seaside restaurants via the small road that runs in front of the hotel. It’s Amalfi, so bring your walking shoes.

The room (Superior with balcony) was perfect; spacious and comfortable. As an American, you must be prepared for a firmer mattress than you are used to but this is true in all of Italy.

The Palazzo gardens are gorgeous, with many quiet places to enjoy the sea view. The structure itself is charming and very well decorated - everything you could want in a Heritage Hotel. The library is charming and fully stocked with good books. Breakfast is delicious and Virginia, your chef, is warm hearted and generous.

Roberto was helpful when we first arrived and showed us how to get to the entrance and how to park - the way down to the parking is a little steep and he offered to help drive my car up again when we wanted to explore the coastal road.

Everything about this place is a dream and I cannot wait to stay here again!

We LOVE this hotel. The staff is amazing, Ilaria is amazing. We stayed with our two kids, it felt like we were staying with family. They were so kind and played with our toddler and catered to any of our needs. The space is beautiful, breakfast is perfect. Ilaria will do her best to help you find what you need and where you need to and want to go. You don’t get service like you do here anywhere else. She knows the community very well, and they all know and respect her.

Honestly one of the best places we have stayed in. Everything about this place is brilliant. The rooms are lovely, and the building itself is wonderful, full of character and charm. They have a beautiful library and vintage record players, including an original fonogram. There are several beautiful garden spaces with picturesque views of the sea. The staff are friendly and extra helpful! They have great breakfasts with lots of fresh fruit and cakes. We were very sad to leave this oasis of calm! Hopefully we will come back again one day.

Fabulous stay here. It's a mansion basically. Each room is impeccably clean. Fun antiques to look at and listen to. Lots of quiet areas to read or relax. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were so sweet and helpful. If they offer you dinner made by Virginia one evening, do it! It was the best meal we had in the area. Caution to over 50 year olds or out of shape folks. It's a LOT of hills and stairs up to the hotel.

This is a historical villa with character which was restored according to its original style. It has also kept the family history alive, the library has old books on various topics but probably the most interesting ones for the ordinary traveller are the ones which document the history of Vietri itself. The owner is also a gramophone collector and you will be surrounded by discreet music while walking around in the common rooms.
The gardens are gorgeous and perfectly maintained, we always ended up staying there just enjoying the views and breathing the jasmine scent before going to bed.
Last but not least, this is a family owned place with a family attitude also towards its clients. They take the time to talk to you and understand your needs. The breakfast prepared by Virginia in the morning is delicious.

Great hospitality, the staff were always smiling and available to help, especially Carlo. The hotel itself was nothing less than spectacular - the view, the gardens, the location. A personal highlight was the cooking class which we recommend highly, Virginia and Laura hosted a fantastic event, and the food was delicious. Best hotel we stayed at on the Amalfi coast.

This summer we visited the amalfi coast for 5 nights. We stayed in the beautiful Palazzo Suriano hotel on a hill overlooking the sea. We enjoyed the hospitality of the wonderful staff. Carlo ( the owner) , and his wife are very friendly and caring people helped us a lot to plan our daily trips ,giving recommendations for places to eat, and helped us even with the transportation.
We enjoyed the delicious breakfast prepared by Virginia the sweetest lady. She went above and beyond driving us in her own car to the train station.
Also special thanks to Roberto for his help. They made us feel like family.
We highly recommend to stay in the hotel if you plan to visit the area.

Palazzo Suriano is going to be for ever in our hearts, all the details, impeccable service, impeccable cleaning, Carlo always willing to help, Virginia and all the staff as well, all of them treating us with kindness, always smiling, makes us feel like home. If you wanted to eat a homemade pie with fruits from the backyard Virginia kindly would do it for you :) the views breathtaking, room spacious and beautiful, the bathroom so clean, the towels smell so clean and nice, like no other hotel we have been. The gardens!! They are gorgeous, all the antiques, books, thank you Carlo for the phonograph! For the privilege of listening to the music, took me in time to the past like a movie, grazie molto! We can’t wait to comeback in the near future to this beautiful jewel, Pallazzo Suriano at the Amalfi Coast.

This boutique hotel was really a memorable experience. From the aesthetic with all the personal touches, the homemade breakfast, to the stellar customer service via WhatsApp and on site and scenic views. Carlo, his wife, Gina and his team were incredibly accommodating with our large luggage and car. No request was out of the question when it came to our comfort. After experiencing the tight and winding roads of the Amalfi Coast, we were incredibly grateful for the private car park off the main road above, and the door to door service of our luggage from the staff.

Our room was absolutely incredible with a stairway heading into a huge bathroom with a beautiful ceramic shower and waterfall shower head and side sprays. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed, air conditioning, two windows and a large balcony where we could enjoy beautiful views of the coast and the town below.

The garden was also a oasis to just relax and enjoy the views and quiet.

Walking down to the pier, restaurants and the beach took only about ten minutes. We enjoyed the quaint little town of Vietri, leading into the Amalfi Coast because it gave us a great home base to enjoy the local beach life, but the accessibility via ferry to larger, more well-known spots like Positano, Amafi and Capri. This made our stay even more stress-free considering the new infrastructure of car limitations on the road along the Amalfi Coast.

10/10 would come again!! Thank you!

From the interior to the garden, everything about this hotel is very very very beautiful and picturesque. I literally took out my phone to take photos every time I pass through the hallway and the garden. I come to Amalfi Coast hoping to spend more time in Amalfi, but I ended up spending more time in this hotel and I have no regret, it’s totally worth it. This hotel is nicely renovated, and at the same time retaining a lot of classic 17/18th century features.

Carlo, his wife and the staff are some of the friendliest people you will meet.

I will definitely visit this hotel again.

The Palazzo Suriano Heritage Hotel is a diamond in the rough among hotels and among boutique hotels in general. The location, the building, the rooms (faves are living room and breakfast area/balcony), the service, the garden (THE GARDEN) and most importantly the staff. They offer alot of outsourced services like hiking, private tours, pamphlets on local services and goings ons etc etc. They also sell amazing treats and wines (per request) that you can enjoy in their beautiful garden, which i did 5 days out of the 7 we were there. The beach and many restaurants are just a 5 min walk downhill (Google map will tell you there is no path but once you exit the hotel make a left and go all the way down, you cant miss it).

A special thank you to the staff:
Carlo who was just a text away, especially when I ask for a bottle of wine to enjoy at the garden. His wife Deborah and brother Camillo who helps him keep the place in tip top shape. Roberto who gave us a nice little transport in their cute little van and helped answer alot of our questions (Amalfi Coast virgins we were lol). Regina who is our breakfast chef, amazing breakfast rivaled only by her smile and friendly personality. If we didnt have a full day each day, I would have had breakfast til lunchtime lol. And last but not least Maria Rosaria who kept our room clean, tidy and well stocked with clean towels. Thank you to you all.

Palazzo Suriano is a beautifu hidden gem in Vietri sul Mare, not too far from the Amalfi Cfoast and all of the main sites to see. The location is ideal - tucked away off of the crazy main road, actually nestled within the hill - you can enjoy peace and tranquility and some of the best views overlooking the sea. The views are gorgeous, as well as the grounds and every room within the property. The entry way is divine - as is the garden -and all of the interior rooms are as if you are traveling back in time. It's no surprise that they also host weddings and special events here. This charming little boutique hotel excudes sophistication, class and a timeless elegance. Their dining area is divine and their library has you feeling like you've traveled back in time. Especially with old tunes coming out of the vintage record player! Also the kitchen has a cute, country but still vintage vibe. You seriously feel like you are living in a bygone era. The terrace where you can enjoy the most delicious homemade breakfast coming from Chef Virginia (who is also available there for cooking classes if you would like them to arrange for it!). There are 9 rooms ranging from standard to superior some with balconies. I was lucky enough to have one with the most breathtaking view of the sea and the city of Vietri! Though I spent most of my time there, the room itself was equally enchanting - modern but with old-fashioned touches with a beautiful frescoed and wooden, vaulted ceiling. And my shower! I was ecstatic to find two options of waterflow - one being a massage jet in the corner, simliar to that you can find in a spa. Last but certainly but not least is Carlo behind it all. along with his incredible staff who give you further peace throughout your stay with their gentle ways and the way they care for their guests. The level of hospitality, service and attentiveness found here was that of a 5-star hotel, not counting the property itself and all of its beauty. I seriously cannot recommend this unique and authentic beauty enough. Thank you for everything Carlo and everyone at Palazzo Suriano. And also for Roberto for helping me with my huge, heavy bags!

This hotel was an out of this world incredible magical experience. Advise everyone to stay here. It would never disappoint. Clean, majestic yet welcoming and quaint. Got engaged here. Will be planning other family members and friends trips to this hotel for them.

Beat the crowds, tourists, and noise and please don’t stay in Positano or Capri. Stay in Vietri Sul Mare where actual Italians come to stay in and go to the beach during summer.

- views of sea (recommend booking room with balcony if in budget)
- beach right underneath hotel (5 minute walk or less)
- restaurants with sea views (5 -10 minute walk or less)
- best staff you could hope for
- air conditioned rooms
- very spacious (depending on which room)
- homemade breakfast included every morning

Cannot thank enough Carlo, Virginia, Giovanni, and Roberto. They made dreams come true.
