Maresca Hotel Praiano

My wife and had an excellent experience during our 4 day stay here. Antonio and his staff were very hospitable and accommodating. The rooms were clean and the views were amazing. The included breakfast was a perfect start to each day. We will definitely return if we visit Italy again in the future!

Maresca hotel was wonderful, quiet, and relaxing. Make sure you do research about staying on the Amalfi coast before you go. It can be difficult and expensive to get around the coast, however staying in Praiano over Positano was a great decision. Maresca hotel was affordable but high quality. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room had a patio with an ocean view. There is breakfast included. The only thing we would note is that the bed and pillows were very hard and not that comfortable.

I could only say wonderful things about this Hotel! It was my first time staying at the Maresca Hotel and definitely won't be my last. For starter's the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and spacious. I was so happy I decided to stay in Praiano because it is honestly so stunning and the views from our room was breathtaking. The owners were also the kindest people ever. I am so eternally grateful for everything they did to make my stay pleasurable. They go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need and are willing to even give advice on the best places to go and eat. It felt like I was apart of their family and it was so wholesome.

I truly cannot recommend this place enough. The location is so convenient and it is absolutely gorgeous. You can get from town to town easily and anything you could possibly need is nearby and of course the view is just so stunning.

Thank you to the Maresca Hotel staff for making this a memorable trip. I would give it a million stars if I could. If you are looking for a place to stay, look no further.

Our stay here was amazing! Antonio was super helpful and arranged a taxi for us from the train station in Naples to the hotel and then back to the train station when our stay was over. It's a short bus ride to Positano and the bus stop is really close to the hotel. The room was clean and well kept. The breakfast was good and you can't beat the view from the balcony!! The staff is really kind and attentive. Mia was so helpful assisting us navigate the bus schedule and where we wanted to go. I definitely recommend stay here!!

We stayed for 3 nights and Antonio the owner treated us like family. If you are thinking if staying in Praia or, male sure you bring good walking/trekking shoes because you will be doing a lot of hills/stairs. If you're able to get into the water it is delightful, but the food and the people are amazing. The views from the hotel were beyond anything I imagined from the internet. We debated just grabbing food and sitting on the veranda with our family the whole day because of how spectacular it was. When we come back to Praiano, we've found a second home here at hotel Maresca.

This hotel is a gem! The staff is amazing. They helped us plan our days. Parking was easy. Buses were easy to navigate. Views were stunning. Hotel was clean , safe and beautiful. Breakfast was amazing. They even had complimentary espresso and cappuccino ! Store next door was convenoent to buy snacks , bus tickets and souvenirs. The owner there was lovely as well.Will definitely stay here again !!!

It's such a lovely hotel! Everything was perfect!
The room was super clean and very spacious. The breakfast was delicious and complete.
The owners were super friendly and helpful. I got sick one day, and the owner himself prepared some lemon juice for me to take, and called the doctor to seek medical advice, although he was super busy. It was super sweet!

Fantastic hotel. Excellent location, close to the beach and a short walk to restaurants and the start of the path of the gods hike. The staff were great. They will arrange car services, taxis, etc. breakfast was good, eggs and coffee made to order. There was also fruit, yogurt, meat, cheese, croissants, cereal, juice etc. The rooms were VERY clean and had beautiful views. We would recommend this spot and come again. There is also a bus stop right outside, and two small stores that have tobacco, alcohol, cold drinks, bus tickets, snacks and ceramics.

Family-run hotel, in a good location at the southern end of Praiano. Very nice and helpful staff / owners, will provide you with a lot of information about what to do in the region, where to eat and how to travel. We tested a lot of these recommendations, and I'm gonna try to review most of them. Great seaview. Spacious and very neat and clean rooms. Italian / continental breakfast with a decent amount of choices. Fresh eggs choices on the spot. The same with coffee.
Around the corner from the hotel, there are 2 convenience stores for drinks, ice cream, snacks, or souvenirs. For bigger purchases of food, you'll need to walk 10 minutes straight up the hill to "Tutto X Tutti." This is a bigger grocery store with nice fruits and vegetable choices, cheeses, pastries, etc.
Within 2 minutes walk in the southern direction from Maresca, you'll find the bus stop number 10. Both directions (Amalfi - Ravello southwise or Positano - Sorrento northwise).
Please review carefully the bus schedules and be aware that there are 3 lines (local in Praiano, mini regional between Praiano and Positano, and the bigger regional one / Sita Sud along the whole coast). Busses are relatively on time, but during rush hours, they are sometimes so full that they won't stop. So don't plan the bus trips too tight. Antonio and Georgio from the hotel can provide you with some helpful insights.
Bus tickets you can't normally on the bus, but the he convenience store next to Maresca is selling these.
Car isn't really an option because of the sometimes crazy traffic and almost impossible parking. No matter where you are heading to. We had a rental car from the Napoli Airport to the hotel, which I would advise because it's almost half the price compared to a shuttle or taxi. Car parking at Maresca is for free if you're not planning to drive in and out. Otherwise, it's 30 € per day! Scooter rentals are available everywhere: not cheap, starting at 50 - 70 € per day! Parking and riding the scooter are still gonna be a challenge.
Walking along the road is very common, and every day, you'll probably need to do this for some amount. Although pretty narrow roads, which are shared by big and smaller busses, cars, scooters, and pedestrians, it's doable with some attention paid.
Some very nice restaurants around this hotel, reachable by foot in max. 10 minutes. Reservations are to be made: by phone, by the specific website, or via The Fork App.
The next beach is Marina Di Praia, reachable after a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Some steps are, of course, included in this walk, but they are everywhere on the Amalfi Coast. Marina Di Praia is a smaller beach, with not a lot of swimming space. Enough for cooling down and having fun. Even jumping in. Some nice restaurants / terraces are there too.
Il Pirata, a beach club with a restaurant, is very close to this Marina. Very nice spot for sunbathing and eating. Swimming is rather limited due to the parking boats in the Marina area. For Il Pirata, you'll need reservations, especially for dinner, but you'll be rewarded with great food and a fantastic view of the sunset and moonrise by the sea.
Marina Di Praia is the main spot in that area for charting boats / water taxis. We tried 2 companies, La Sibilla and Plaghia Charters. Both are very good with identical prices. The choice was made only by the next boat available.
You can pay almost everywhere on the Amalfi Coast by credit card!

First time in Praiano and Hotel Maresca was such a wonderful hotel to stay in! There’s only breakfast offered, which had a decent variety to choose from- cocoa pebbles/cereal, white and whole wheat bread slices with an available panini presser, yogurt with oats and other toppings I might’ve missed, water AND water with lemon, pie, croissants, and the waiter offering me and my girlfriend coffee and eggs (however we like like fried or omelette style) - might’ve been other availability but we only had breakfast once. Right next door to the hotel above the stairs next to the main road are 2 mini stores - very convenient to buy water, snacks, and bus tickets too. I (and my girlfriend) rented a scooter and they had parking available for up to 4-5 scooters in a very small scooter-parking only lot (no charge), or if you rent a car there’s a lot for that and we were told we could park our scooter there if needed (I think 30€ a day to come and go, might be wrong). Very convenient to have a 5 minute drive, or 15-20 minute walk, to Marina di Praia and 1-2 good local restaurants. Room had an A/C unit but was in a different part of our room so it got a little hot. The view for both breakfast and our room was magnificent. We stayed Friday night to Tuesday morning and the shower had a minor smell that Sunday. Keep in mind if someone is showering and another uses the sink, pressure goes down in the shower. At some points with the hot water in the sink being used, the pressure in the shower cut off to nearly being off. Definitely recommend - very budget friendly if you’re not looking to spend over the top dollar. Very accommodating with restaurant, water taxi and taxi services, and location recommendations. Heads up: they really helped with getting beautiful flowers and local chocolates as a surprise for my girlfriend

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The rooms were terrific with spectacular views. The staff was outstanding, everyone made us feel welcomed. Antonio gave us great suggestions for local restaurants, each one was unbelievable! We can't recommend the Maresca enough!

We absolutely loved this hotel! Very laid back but nicely appointed. We were there during a brutal heatwave in June and the AC kept up with the high heat plus there were ceiling fans in our rooms which also helped. There are 2 very small family-run markets right at the hotel entrance on the street that sold water, beer, wine, bus tickets, Italian meats and more which was very convenient. Antonio was very helpful in suggesting restaurants and called for reservations for us. Lovely breakfast overlooking the beautiful sea. Our rooms were on the lower level with a large patio with stunning views. I wished we stayed longer than 2 nights.

We had such an amazing time at Maresca Hotel during our honeymoon! An amazing sea view, friendly and helpful staff, a fabulous dinner, and near the bus stop which made it easy to go to Amalfi and Positano. Also near a beautiful beach!

This was our favorite stay in Italy so far. Antonio was a great host with a wealth of knowledge. The hotel was amazing with spectacular water views and was very clean. Breakfast was also very good. The location is perfect. Definitely rent a boat which the staff can setup for you. Thank you, Antonio!

Lovely place to stay, in Praiano- a much more peaceful part of the coast. The hotel was clean and well maintained. Staff were so helpful and we loved the omelette and fresh food we had every morning. Antonio was beyond helpful and kind, we were sad to leave!

Wonderful time in Praiano. Our room was clean, quiet , and chilly with great air conditioning . Antonio will help you with anything you need !! Just ask!! Highly recommend!! Also nice location with parking!

Great hotel, beautiful view from the breakfast balcony and the rooms are very large and cleaned every single day. The people who work here are very friendly and always willing to help. It’s very close to the busstop nr. 10 so it’s easy to reach Amalfi or Positano.

My partner and I spent 3 exceptional nights at Hotel Maresca. Clean and comfortable room overlooking the ocean, delicious breakfast, and exceptional service. Hoping to come back some day!

My wife and I just stayed here two days ago for a couple of nights. I don't know why people have rated it 2 or 3 stars, it absolutely deserves 5 stars. It was the highlight of our trip to Italy, and we went all over the country.

The hotel is tastefully decorated and very clean, with a Mediterranean feel. It's tucked away in a quiet area, and the views from the room/terrace are unbelievable. It's 4 star hotel quality! The best part of the entire experience was the staff. We met two men who seemed to run the hotel (one hotel manager, one restaurant manager) and they were both extremely personable, generous, helpful, and accommodating. One of the men took about 10 minutes when we checked in to tell us where to go, where to eat, how to get around, and helped us plan our days out. The other was genuinely caring and served us drinks on the terrace.

There are two ceramic shops (one across the street and one right next to the hotel) where the local owners are very friendly and charming. BobArt, the one next to the hotel, is run by a local artist's son and sells incredible work.

I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anybody looking for a lovely experience in Praiano. It is a hidden gem. You will not regret it!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very spacious and comfortable. It also had a lovely outdoor patio. The location was great too. We really appreciated the fact that there was parking. It was a very welcoming experience and the receptionist gave us great advice as to where to eat and what to do.
