We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Etna Hotel Giarre. It's a beautiful place with a well-maintained pool and a relaxing atmosphere. There are plenty of sunbeds and areas for relaxation. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, providing us with extensive help and recommendations, especially during the rail strikes and when we had questions about tours and facilities. The breakfast and dinner were fantastic, offering a wide variety of options including fresh local produce. The rooms are spacious, clean, well-equipped, and in excellent condition. We could see Etna Volcano from our room which was one of the highlights of our visit. Our requests for twin rooms and specific locations were accommodated, making our stay as a group of four wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel! Thank you!

My girlfriend and I booked here for a week, we’ve had a truly lovely stay and have felt very accommodated. The restaurant and breakfast was a great addition to our stay offering some of the best food in the local area. Was a very relaxed stay and would definitely visit again, our room was cleaned daily to a great standard and all of the staff are incredibly friendly even when having to deal with people who can barely speak Italian!!
With only a 15 min walk you are in the centre of Giarre with lots of dining choices. We could have very happily eaten at the hotel every night of our stay. If you are reading this you should definitely book! I would suggest hiring a car to explore the area more!

The hotel is beautiful, cozy and neat. There are enough sunbeds by the pool, and the pool itself is nice and clean. At the hotel’s restaurant I had the creamiest carbonara, loved it. Also, the breakfast option is absolutely worth its price - you get everything you need and more; homemade yoghurt and chilled fruit salad were my absolute favorites.
The staff is absolutely the best, very helpful and friendly. They helped me and my friends in every request we had.

Our stay at Hotel Etna was unforgettable. The hotel exudes charm at every turn.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warmest staff. Their friendliness and knowledge of the area really enriched our stay. They helped us with taxi, trains, buses, and even gave us a lift because transport is Giarre is difficult. We felt like part of the family❤

The rooms were clean and thoughtfully decorated. Beautifully tiled floors, rustic wooden furnishings added a touch of authenticity. Waking up to views Mount Etna was a surreal experience. Every morning we enjoyed our coffee on the private balcony. There are aircons in every room.

Dining at the hotel’s restaurant was 10/10, we had the creamiest most silkiest carbonara. The brekfast was very nice too, tasty homemade fresh ingredients, just enough options.

THANK YOU to the staff for making our stay so pleasurable.

This hotel captured my heart from the moment I discovered it online, and it exceeded all my expectations upon arrival. From the instant we checked in, we were met with exceptional care and attention, ensuring we felt welcome and well-rested.

The hotel resembles a historical villa with authentic exteriors, making it ideal for couples or romantic getaways. Our room featured a charming hidden terrace, and every room offers outdoor space for relaxation. The rooms were spacious, clean, and thoughtfully decorated, with immaculate bathrooms that felt as comfortable as home.

The breakfast service was excellent, offering a continental selection with a local twist, including a variety of cheeses, meats, vegetables, and delicious baked goods. The bar, open from late morning to evening, serves an incredible Aperol Spritz worth every penny. The hotel is smoker-friendly, with well-maintained ashtrays available throughout the property.

The pool area is expansive, with ample shaded patio seating and plenty of sunbeds to enjoy views of the hotel and Mount Etna. The pool was very clean, without a strong chemical smell, and had accessible steps for easy entry.

Our friends dined at the hotel restaurant and praised the exceptional pasta and attentive staff. Traveling as a group, we frequently sought assistance from the reception team for local tours, activities, and transportation. They went above and beyond, making calls on our behalf to arrange everything, saving us the hassle of navigating logistics without knowing Italian.

Overall, this hotel's charm lies not only in its romantic and beautiful setting but also in the dedication of the staff, who ensure guests truly enjoy their Sicilian experience. I would gladly return and have already recommended this place to my family and in-laws. Grazie mille!

An absolutely lovely hotel, with extremely helpful and polite staff. Beautiful views of Mt Etna. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The resteraunt for evening meals was incredible. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only mark down (which is no reflection on the hotel or staff) is the location was a bit remote. The roads were busy and no pavements so would definitely recommend using the buses or hiring a car as Giarre itself doesn't have much to do but nearby Mt Etna and Taormina were amazing.

It was a great location. Transportation though is essential from the hotel. Free parking for our rental. I wish they had free coffee.

A beautiful place to stay. Very peaceful and in the shadow of Mount Etna which makes for an epic setting. All the hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. The pool and pool area are lovely, the hotel breakfast delicious and good value and the adjoining restaurant is wonderful. The snack bar by the pool makes excellent panini and salads and is perfect spot to enjoy a spritz or two. The location is a little remote and the immediate surrounding area isn't great, but the railway station is just about within walking distance and the train service is superb. We caught the train to Syracuse and Ortigia. We also caught the local bus to Taormina which, although busy, is definitely worth a visit. The hotel based Etna trip is super and was a highlight of the trip. Would definitely recommend.

the foothill of Mount Etna it is a strategic base for most visitors. Us included. We found the professional and polite service received from the hotel Management and staff to be reassuring. This made our stay, though short 2-days, very relaxing.
The room was very clean and air-conditioned. Being a 18th century building, the walls were thick and kept the room quite cool and constant. A few minor repairs due to wear and tear to keep it in A1 Condition.
We had dinner at the hotel with local fresh produce only and a simple menu that was very good. The only exception was the under cooked mix-grill that I choose. It was mentioned to the staff, but no further enquiry was received.
The swimming pool was a god-send after a long road-trip. It is located between the main hotel blocked and outbuildings. Perfectly clean and inviting with staff overseeing pool side services. We really enjoyed it.
All in all, a perfect base for an excursion to Mount Etna and relaxation after. Well recommended.

A chic place, very beautiful and neat! As well as the swimming pool, which has a view of Etna. The staff is very kind, the breakfast is very varied and the food at the restaurant is very good. We will definitely be back! I recommend with confidence!

Really enjoyed our week-long stay. The hotel is beautiful, really quiet and peaceful location. Rooms were very clean and the staff was really helpful and attentive. Pool was clean and well maintained and there was plenty of sun loungers around the pool. The only downside would be location, if you don't have a car. The town is not touristy at all which was perfect for us, but the nearest train station is 2km away. It was not a problem for us as we enjoy walking so we used Giarre as our base and went out exploring every day - Savoca and Taormina were both less than an hour away on the train . The hotel also offers a free bike rental. The Etna tour advertised in the rooms was also well worth it. The restaurant next to the hotel offered wonderful food although we did not use it every day. Nearest supermarket is about 10mins walk and restaurant 15mins away. We also tried out ordering food on Glovo app and both times food took 2hrs to come, although it was still delicious and hot. This might be a bit excessive time by UK standards but seems to be standard Italian delivery time. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for an authentic and not touristic Italian experience, we had a wonderful time!

Nice place with large swimming pool, good terrace, large rooms with good airco. View on the Etna. Good restaurant! Only the location is a bit less cause there are no shops, bars,... in the neighbourhood. Anyway I give it 5 stars!

Exceptional place to stay. Friendly staff. Very 'accommodating', dealing with requests quickly. Dinner was wonderful, and a lovely breakfast in the courtyard. Rooms are stylish and provide a restful environment. Situated conveniently for travelling to other places particularly up and down the coast by train. Tours available to book. Shuttle to airport. Despite the cloudy weather hiding Etna it was still a perfect place to stay.

A beautiful place to stay in the shadow of Mount Etna. Helpful staff, lovely pool, great breakfast and the adjoining restaurant is wonderful. The location is a little remote, but the railway station is only a 20 minute walk away and the train service is superb. We caught the train to Taormino and Syracuse for a few euros and didn't have any issues. The Etna trip is well worth the money and picks up from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely little hotel with a nice pool area. Staff can't do enough for you. Very very friendly especially Angela and another young girl at breakfast (didn't get her name)
It is in the middle of no where really and if you want to go other places I would advise to rent a car as walking isn't the safest on the roads.
But over all a lovely holiday

Beautiful hotel and grounds. The staff were amazing and helpful. We were a party of 8 and they arranged taxis for us. The hotel is a bit out of the way but there are shops nearby. Lovely pool and bar area, with good snacks and drinks.

gorgeous hotel, extremely helpful staff who arranged lots of trips and taxis for us, very clean and pleasant rooms and a great pool. I would say be warned that this is the sort of place you stay if you plan on renting a car or paying for Taxis. I went in a large group and the hotel arranged many taxis for us (obviously being in a bigger group this sin't too expensive). Highly recommend the Mt. Etna excursion, Taromina and Catania.

We recently stayed here in this beautiful hotel with an amazing view of Etna from our room. The staff are so helpful, booking taxis for us whenever we needed them and recommending excellent places for dinner not too far away. If you turn immediately right when walking out the hotel entrance there are 2 supermarkets within 2 and 5 minutes. Really easy access to trains to Taormina or Messina and there is a restaurant on site of the hotel that is very intimate and has lovely food.

The hotel organised our excursion up Etna itself with a jeep picking us up and dropping us back to the hotel entrance. There is a great snack and drinks bar right next to the pool. The staff could not have been more helpful, we had one of the best holidays we've ever had. We will be back.

We returned for a second visit this summer and really cannot find a single fault or criticism about any aspect of this hotel. The bedroom/bathroom was beautiful and always thoroughly cleaned, the food in the restaurant in the evenings was gorgeous/first class, communication and help from staff outstanding both before and during our visit, pool amazing, breakfasts varied, generous and delicious, buildings characterful and tastefully decorated. I highly recommend Etna Hotel and we will definitely stay there for yet another repeat visit; can't wait to go back.
