The atmosphere is really pleasant and the service is perfect. The food is very good, although some portions are a bit smaller than they could be. There is an extensive wine list!

The restaurant is very bohemian, the food is fresh with a high-class visual aspect, and the taste is a real symphony for the taste buds. The waitresses are very educated on what is in each dishes. If you visit or arrive via Riposto, i recommend this restaurant.

Walking through Riposto and saw twinkle lights and heard beautiful music, that’s what drew us to Vico Astemio. A fabulous dining experience with exceptional cuisine and fantastic service. A must on your dinner list, appeals to all of your senses. Enjoy!

Most likely the best restaurant in the vicinity - and they know it, too, as its reflected in the price. It's not exorbitant, but they differentiate themselves (successfully) from the local competition. Portions are perhaps a bit on the modest size; retrospectively, just antipasti, secondi and a dolce was slightly meager - most Italian restaurants will leave one amply satisfied with this choice. We didn't go home hungry, though. Staff were attentive and friendly, and surprisingly (some) spoke quite good English as well. We did not have the opportunity to sample the wines, but undoubtedly they're worthwhile. Improvements? Easy on the salt, chef - the soup doesn't have to mimic the sea.

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of excellent. The food was delicious and refined, which certainly justified the price. The menu offered a variety of delectable dishes, and what made it even better was the attentive staff who had no problem accommodating specific culinary preferences.

The wine selection was impressive, offering choices that paired perfectly with our meals.

As for the service, I can only say that the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. They were always ready to assist and ensured that my dining experience was truly memorable.

Lastly, the fresh bread served at the beginning of the meal was delightful and a wonderful complement to the overall experience. In conclusion, this restaurant provides a culinary experience that is well worth its price.

A lovely atmosphere, great service and excellent food. Great for a romantic night out. Definitely try the Etna cocktails, made with local liqueurs, vermouth and bitters.

We were staying in a hotel about 10 mins away by car, and decided to dine at Vico Astemio. It was a night we didn’t feel like having pizza or pasta! It was a lovely experience. Located in very quiet Riposto, right behind one of the corners of the church square (with ample street parking right on the same street), the restaurant is tastefully decorated - charming with a modern touch. Friendly staff. We had the pulpo as a starter, and the branzino dish as a second. The tiramisu recommendation was definitely a plus! So good! All were delicious dishes, well executed and presented! Highly recommended.

What an amazing restaurant in such a quite and small town. Nice Atmosphere, great food (seafood very recommendable) and what an amazing waiter Franceso. He knows all the wines, the specialties of the day, explained the food as if he was the chef. We had a great time and felt very welcomed. We would recommend to stop here for Dinner.

This food will bring you right on the train to flavor town! Awesome! You think Tuna and Truffles is a weird combination? I thought so too! But be assured it is not - it is great! Spaghetti with squid ink, delicious. Amberjack even better than Tuna - yes! Once you made it through starters, Primi and secondi you will end up in dessert heaven. Ciccio is creating them himself as kind of a pastry chef!
The evening only gets better with a selection of local Grappa and other drinks!
10/10 for staff, food, ambience… will definitely come again!!

A lovely location in the port of Ripalo, in a wuiet place, just behind the central place.
Personnel is smiley and welcoming, speaking French and English.
Service is done with generosity and a smile.
Food is esquisite - Italian quality with a drop of French sophistication 😊 - and is accompanied byban impresive list of Italian and French wines.

Tiramisu is the best we ever had in Italy or around the globe. No doubt.

Our Food was amazing, the octopus starter was the best my husband has ever eaten. All of our food was delicious especially the tiramisu . We were served by three very delightful waitresses their service was outstanding. Their English was good and most helpful. I would recommend this restaurant.

Probably the best dinner I had in Sicily. Exquisit Food for more than fair prices. The restaurant has a tastefully decorated interior and professional/ helpful staff. The recipes put a modern twist on some beloved classics. If you have the possibility, definitely go here! The octopus was the best I have ever had and the tiramisu was up there as well.

Fantastic modern Sicilian in Riposto. We were recommended by the chef's sister, who runs a fabulous wine shop around the corner. We loved Astemio so much we returned the same week. Chef Maxi's food is wonderful, inspired Sicilian. Pristine, simple marinated fish - Tuna, Anchovy, Scampi, Spada and cuttlefish, perfect with sea salt and virgin olive oil.
Delicious ethereal platter of fritto di mare -
breaded tuna, head-on shrimp, small fish and squid - light and perfectly cooked. Seriously the best pastas we ate in 3 weeks in Sicily - brilliant ! Crema di Vongole & Bottarga perfectly executed that tasted like the ocean, one of the most unique things I've eaten in a restaurant. Perfect Pasta a la Sarde with wild fennel and tomato - gorgeous. All of the entrees we tried were amazing . Grilled Tuna, whole grilled fish, Sardines, Swordfish. Every single one perfectly cooked - not a minute too long- - and presented in their beautiful simplicity. The Zuppa di Mare was absolutely sublime - a flavor packed, rich broth, thickened with tomato, small fish,scampi, shrimp and mussels - all expertly cooked - I'll think about that dish any time I order fish soup again - it's my new standard ! The mostly Sicilian WIne List was perfect for the menu. Many top value whites and sparkling, with most bottles under 30 euros. We enjoyed several of the classic Mt Etna whites from Vivera, Antichi Vinai, Al Cantara,Costanzo, etc etc. The staff were extremely kind and professional. They bought us dessert on both visits and of course ended our meal with Limoncello ! The chef even visited to check on our meal. We loved sitting outside in the Sicilian summer evening . A wonderful place - food, wine and value !

The food was superb at this cozy restaurant with welcoming and friendly staff. The wine list was extensive and staff knowledgeable. We will return to this special place.

Spectacular meal. We had a number of starters and all were amazing. The amberjack was particularly good but the aubergine was the highlight of the evening.
Service was also fantastic and they even organised us a taxi to our air BnB which was above and beyond. Will definitely be back !
