The Castle Tavern

I had THE best experience at the Castle Tavern. James and his chef were amazing hosts and prepared the most delicious dishes. It has been one of the most welcoming and delicious dining experiences I’ve had in Italy. Do yourself the favour of ordering the ravioli and the boar tagliatelle!

The best lasagna I’ve ever had. James and the chef were such great hosts. Every dish that was served at our table was delicious. The overall experience left us wanting to come back.

This was one of the best restaurants I’ve tried in Tuscany - all the dishes we tried were great! James and the chef were very accommodating and created such a welcoming experience for our group. The bruschetta, ravioli, and cheesecake were amazing!

Giacomo is the perfect host - welcoming and informative and friendly. He guided us to the perfect food and wine. He made us feel like friends of the restaurant. Massimilio is the chef and spent plenty of time with us to give us insights into the food.

We had the cinghiale stew, lasagne, and pasta w cinghiale sauce. All really good but we especially liked the lasagne.

Go try Taverna Castello - you'll be glad you did.

My favourite dining experience in my two weeks across italy. The food is incredible but it’s second to the atmosphere created by James and his team. Boar Stew - incredible, wine - incredible, tiramisu - incredible. 5 stars! Thank you!

Absolutely love La Taverna! Such a brilliant setting, eating under the trees, on the beautiful street or in the restaurant and the staff are brilliant! We were served by James who took great care in making sure we had everything we needed. The menu is delicious – simple Italian food which doesn’t break the bank: we had two bruschetta, pasta and a burrata salad. Definitely overtaken Rosmarino as the best restaurant in Castelfalfi – will come back every time!

Spent a week in Castelfalfi as part of a family vacation (coming from the US) and ate there 3 times and each experience was wonderful. Jameson was fantastic and super accommodating, when as a party of 9 without a reservation, he made it work for us.

If I ever find myself in the region again, I’d love to spend another evening there.

Had an amazing dinner here, James was so lovely and the food was fantastic. Order the lasagne and take home a bottle of the Tuscan gin!

Ristorante con pietanze tipiche della cucina toscana. Il personale è molto accogliente ed i piatti sono ottimi. Incantevole lo spazio per mangiare all’esterno. C’è molta disponibilità di parcheggi a pochi passi dal ristorante.

Pranzo in un relax e silenzio piacevole, prezzo abbastanza elevato ma ne è valsa la pena! Atmosfera completamente immersa nel verde!

Guter Wein, leckeres Essen und kleiner Lebensmittel Laden für italienischen Käse und Wurst. Nachdem das Restaurant Rosmarino massiv die Preise angezogen hat, ist die Taverne eine Top Alternative im Ort. Egal ob für einen Wein zwischendurch oder Lunch… wir wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Sehr persönlicher Service.

Das "The Castle Tavern" ist ein gemütliches kleines Restaurant mit gutem Essen und sehr gutem Wein aus der Gegend. Der Kellner musste zwar viele Aufgabenbereiche abdecken, er hat trotzdem die Bestellungen zügig abgearbeitet. Wir haben uns dort immer sehr wohl gefühlt und empfehlen dieses gemütliche toskanische Restaurant weiter!

Tolle toskanische Atmosphäre mit super sympathischem Service und 3 Gänge (Antipasti, Pasta und Secondo) mit toller Qualität. Die Beratung war sehr kompetent und flexibel! Bei der Weinauswahl ist für jeden etwas dabei! Diese Taverne sollte jeder probieren der in Castelfalfi übernachtet. Danke an Giacomo !!!
