What a great find. Their dishes are fresh made with the local ingredients of the season. The wines were also terrific. If you are in the area, don’t hesitate and go treat yourself to a great meal.

Great find here in Volterra. Some of the best ravioli we’ve had in a long time. Plus, the wild boar is super scrumptious!! Note that the pizze on the menu is only available at night, not at lunch. Pay inside at the end of the meal.

This nice taverna in the old city of Voltera is excellent….
As a first look it doesn’t gives you that feeling but we stop for a small lunch-aperitief and I was surprised for the knowledge of the waiter about all of the dishes…
The food is very tasty and in good portions.

This place is great, period. They could just meet the standards for classic Tuscan cuisine that you find all over the place in this area. But they go way beyond that : with classic dishes cooked with the heart, one of the friendliest staff we've met during our trip and some of the best mushrooms dishes I've ever tasted (in season, fried porcini mushrooms with basil leaves are something so good it's hard to describe with words).

The pasta and desserts were amazing and very unique!

One of the best meals we've had in totally! We tried the porcini mushrooms and the antipasto a appetizers, both great. For dinner we had the boar stew, Roma pizza, gnocchi, and steak, all great! Friendly, fun waiter. All round a great experience :-) very reasonably priced

Delicious food and unforgettable homely atmosphere. The gnocchi with truffels is something you have to try, probably the best pasta i have ever had. Despite being a big group of 14 people we received great service! I really wish I will be able to go there again, grazie!!

We enjoyed a fabulous lunch here. Our favorite dish was the cinghiale dolce forte - wild boar marinated in vinegar and honey, with enough chocolate added at the end to make you think you have died and gone to heaven! But the tagliatelle alle cinghiale was delicious and the guancia melted in your mouth. We had a very friendly and helpful waiter, too. I highly recommend this place, a very short distance from the main piazza of Volterra.

Parents rejoice! Fantastic place to eat in Volterra if travelling with a baby/toddler. Staff were very welcoming and were really attentive. They were great with the baby too and brought out a high chair very quickly. Food was excellent - particularly the pizzas - and reasonably priced given its location in touristy Volterra. The restaurant is spotless and the toilets are excellent. To cap it all off imagine our shock at finding a baby changer, in a toilet, in a restaurant, in Italy. Unbelievable scenes. Highly recommended.

Tried the cinghiale with meat sauce and cacao powder. Amazing combination with perfect balance of salty and sweet.

I ate something here i orderd by accident.
It was Tribe (no worries, thee also have Prime pizza's and perfect pasta's) but back to the tribe.. it's a whole thing on it's own... but to be honest it tasted good.

Me and my company then had to laugh so f*ckn hard about the whole thing (I mean in the Netherlands we honestly only feed tribe to our dogs) we used up at least a half a botte of excellent (realy don't know the name etc.) red wine.

Me still doubting the fact i just ate tribe, the orderd a espresso.

And then the cook comforted me with poring the best cup I've ever had..

Visit if you want to meet realy nice Italian People serving traditional local food, and no worries your favorite Italian food will be there.

I really nice, but slightly touristy spot in Volterra, nevertheless the wines were great and pasta with truffle was great. Service is speedy and polite.

If you like porcini mushrooms, you will not forget this experience. We had fried porcini mushrooms.. Fantastic is the taste!.... Then we had a risotto of funghi porcini and a pasta dish, (Pici) with the same porcini. I have never such a tasty porcini dish as last night! Enjoy

Simple, delicious, filling and plenty of room for a nine-person group (with kids). Of note, the pappardelle chinghiale was the best we had in Tuscany... highly recommended!
