I can't not give this place 5 stars! Cool castle in the heart of Tuscany. The restaurant is really good (maybe skip it if they are hosting a wedding) the only thing we wished was the room had AC but it was surprisingly chill in the room

I stayed at this property for one week in August 2022 for a wedding. It was the most spectacular property I have visited and the staff and service made it extra special. From the rooms to the amenities and grounds, it was a 10/10 experience. The property is kept up extremely well and there is lots to do. I would 100% recommend for anyone thinking of visiting, to book their stay at Gargonza as soon as possible!

Absolutely loved being at this charming castello. It was like living in a little hamlet in the hills. The team couldn't have been more considerate and helpful. Would definitely go back.

I went to Castello di Gargonza for work. Instantly you are swept away by the immense beauty of this location and the tranquility that surrounds the castle. It's elegant charm carries through the entire hamlet from it's perfectly decorated cozy rooms to its sprawling sun kissed dining halls. Simply spectacular!

Visited as performers for a wedding and what can I say- a true gem from start to finish! We were greeted and served by the loveliest and most accommodating staff. The castle itself is superb and truly unique, our room was so authentic, and lovely and cool when it was extremely hot in Tuscany. It was also cleaned so speedily- done when we returned from breakfast!! The walk/run routes around the castle were spectacular, lovely clean swimming pool, enchanting atmosphere and finally the food was delicious. Personally I have dietary requirements which were truly exceeded for breakfast and a 5 course evening meal- not only was this vegan and gluten free but creative and flavourful to boot. A real family vibe with the staff too which made it even more enjoyable. A must see in the region.

The castle and village looked like a painting on top of a hill. The rooms were well appointed, had bars on my windows as my room was on the outer wall of the village. The restaurant, pool and other great facilities were at the bottom of the hill . The Count gave us a great talk on the local wines and graciously help get some of us down the hill for dinner.Need a vehicle to get there but worth it

Very friendly and accommodating service. Excellent bartender. Much nicer bathrooms than expected. Impressive breakfast. Top location, but warn the bus driver about the roads, especially the last few hundred meters.

I've never been to a more beautiful place. It was quiet with amazing scenery. Our accommodation was like having our own cozy little cabin. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent. This was a great little escape from the cities we were touring and I highly recommend it. We even discussed potentially having our wedding there. It was beautiful and a highlight of our trip.

What an experience. How often do you get to say that you slept in a 13th century castle!

Fantastic family-owned medieval castle. Breathtaking views. Our room was very clean and sanitized. Great attention to details for a wonderful stay. We also enjoyed very much dining at the restaurant, great Tuscan cuisine. Thank you Neri and team for your friendly and kind hospitality. Andrea and Olga

We went to Castello di Gargonza for a wedding. What a setting! We all had little apartments with our own rooms and en-suite bathrooms. Rustic charm, clean, comfortable beds. We basically owned a town for the weekend. It’s a beautiful setting in the middle of nowhere with beautiful views of trees and mountain expanse, especially from the swimming pool. Lots of beautiful areas to hang out, and just lovely to walk around.

Feeding a wedding party could mean a deterioration in quality, but not here, the quality was excellent for en mass catering. We were a really large party and the staff were always pleasant and attentive. It was reasonably priced. The alfresco dining with festoon lighting is such a romantic setting. Just beautiful. Thank you for making our friend’s wedding so special Castello di Gargonza.

I love this place. Family owned and the service is great.
Lovely breakfast. We stayed in the superior rooms and although the rooms are unique, they are spacious. The owners put a cooler in both rooms as it was hot.

Very nice little place! We stayed during the weekday and it was pretty empty with just a few people. Got to see a little fawn and the place has lots of lavender plants which was great to small. The outside common sitting area and breakfast is great. You can request other items if you want. There's also a small little town nearby (Monte San Savino) where the local butcher has a great little restaurant. It was recommended by the staff in Gargonza and it did not disappoint.

Incredible ambience and amazing service. This is a thoughtfully renovated medieval village, and so provides a unique place to stay in Tuscany. Caution however....many of the rooms are reached by, or include stairs within the accommodation. But for those who don't mind such challenges, Castello di Gargonza is a very special place. The food here is also wonderful.

Absolutely gorgeous place! A step back in time. Sketchy WiFi. They'd improve tremendously with a few WiFi amplifiers. But, with no TV and historic accommodations, I feel certain this is not a priority. Also, dining room (except breakfast) is .25-.30 miles walking one way to dine. Golf carts would be a great addition for guests.

Beautiful old Castle turned into a holiday resort in Tuscany Italy. Used also for events. Worth just going through it for a walk to catch the ancient atmosfere. Very relaxing.

I was pleasantly surprised at our beautiful cozy room. It was its own separate space with a nice kitchen area and a fireplace. We will definitely be returning and look forward to having the same room :-)

Really peaceful and quiet place. Our room was well cleaned, there was wood for the fireplace prepared for us, the bathrooms are new and the breakfast is amazing.
Wifi was working perfect in our room, number 15 (Niccolina), I guess because it was super close to the breakfast room.
The only thing that isn't super practical is that the to access the parking lot, you have to take a very narrow set of stonen stairs that have no protection from rain, for example. Might be a little difficult if you are in company of an elder, if you have a lot of baggage or small children.
Since we didn't, it was really perfect!!!

To say that Castillo di Gargonza is the heart of Tuscany is appropriate on so many levels. The castle is what one envisions when they close their eyes and dream about it. It is also the kindness and generosity of the owners and staff that makes this vacation a once in a lifetime event. They are the true heart of Tuscany.

The beauty of all of Tuscany can be seen and felt within the walls of this beautiful castle. I would recommend this hotel to anyone exploring Italy.
