This was one of the best museums we have ever visited - it offered the opportunity to view things you wouldn't usually see on public view and we learnt a lot about human anatomy! Lots of the exhibits are of a very sensitive nature however so be prepared to have a more emotional experience than you might expect. It's great that it's free but you still need to register in advance. The audio guide was fantastic and really easy to use - concise and helpful in English.

Made a reservation in advance as requested, but, it didn't count at the entrance. As it's free of charge, I'd expected more people would visit, but, not everyone has the stomach for the display on the shelves. It's inside the faculty of medicine. There were students reciting in the library with their Netters' open on the table. Brings back some memories. Anyway, I'd found it fascinating. Definitely worth your while.

This is one of the best museums in Naples, and in the world. It's a must see if you visit Naples. Totally fascinating (and huge) anatomical collection of bones, preserved bodies, wax models, diseased organs and body parts, etc. The dates seem to span from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

This museum is appointment-only, but we found it very easy to make an appointment online. The museum is located within the Naples medical university building, and is a bit difficult to find, so leave a little early before your appointment.

When we arrived, the very helpful museum staff member checked our tickets and his list, and then gave us audio headsets for our self-guided tour. We spent a full hour in the museum, and in fact, were so lost in time that we didn't notice that we had probably made the staff member and security person wait a little longer than was polite to close the museum (they didn't say anything to us, but when I finally noticed the time, it was clearly the hour that they were getting ready to close for the day). The hours and days to visit the museum are somewhat limited, in my recollection.

The history of anatomical study in Naples and Italy in general is pretty amazing, and many of the deformities and diseases displayed in the museum no longer exist, due to medical advancements built upon by the early medical pioneers.

Probably not a place for kids or anyone who is queasy about death in general or anatomical displays.

Absolutely unimaginable expierience! MUSA is free of charge, but you have to book tickets beforehands via official website (name, mail, date and hour and number of visitors needed - you'll receive tickets on your email adress). Inside you can download app and have audioguided tour (also english) - very nice gentelmen will explain how it works 😃 And the exhibiton... well I hope you have strong stomach! Highly educational and thrilling. Huge thanks to everyone who works there, you guys are the greatest!

Wow, where do I start… This museum is incredible. Give yourself 2.5 hours to listen to the audio tour guide & examine all the medical relics from over the world. The best part about this museum is that it’s FREE.

When we were there on a Friday afternoon, it was just my party of 3 & 3 other guests.

Unique collection of exhibits, great audio guide, and free entrance - it’s a hidden gem for anyone interested in medical field. A little hard to find the museum entrance, as the museum is on one of the floors of the university building.

Brilliant museum. Fantastic display. It is free but not open on all days, so please check before visiting. Do book appointments, though.

If staff could label the exhibits, it will become even more helpful.

Super interesting museum! If you have a weak stomach, I wouldn’t recommend going (or at least avoid looking at some of the more intense portions!). Easily the best free museum I’ve been to, they have a great audio tour app, so be sure to bring a pair of headphones!

Excellent Museum with interesting historical anatomical exhibits. Helpful staff who direct you to free wifi and audio guide app. Easy booking online before you visit. I did it at 9am for a 10am slot (Nov). Very informative audioguide in Italian or English. DIRECTIONS: entering the University through the main entrance, pass the security booth and step into the courtyard, take a left and pass the toilets, then take an immediate right and go up ONE flight of stairs. Signage from their is clear. I took an alternative staircase and had an unexpected tour of the University :D.
