Ostello Bello Assisi Bevagna

Beautiful hostel in the middle of the Umbrian countryside. The staff is absolutely adorable, the spot is magical. A perfect countryside parenthesis to discover Italy.
A great + : a shuttle service can bring you back and from the Foligno or Assisi station if you want to travel without having to rent a car (20€ for return trip)

We loved Ostello Bello Assisi!!! Our favorite place we stayed at during our 3-week trip to Italy. The location is incredible, with beautiful views of the Umbrian countryside. Beautiful spaces like the secret garden and look-out point. The hostel had a kitchen and provided fresh fruits and vegetables and pasta daily, so we could cook a nice (free!) dinner. Rooms had soap, towels, and were super comfy. Free welcome drink was nice too.

Just be aware that it doesn't really make sense to stay at this hostel unless you have your own form of transportation (or don't plan on leaving the hostel at all). We rented a Vespa and found that to be a necessity for getting around. Don't rely on walking - the nearest town is miles away, and you definitely can't walk the 3.5 hours to Assisi haha.

What a hidden gem!
Not the easiest to get there with public transport, but there is a bus going from Foligno (which is quite easy to reach from Rome for example) and they also have a shuttle service. Stunning landscape, very nice place to go for wine tastings around the corner, fine dining restaurant just outside the door. The supermarket is a bit further away but therefore there is free pasta, veggies, eggs and oil for cooking - what could you want more? Okay admittedly the breakfast could be a tiny little bit better, the croissants and bread always seemed a bit hard as like from the last day and some fresh fruit and a bit higher quality cheese would be great. But the staff was also super friendly as apparently anybody else in that tiny village and it is just the perfect place to find some peace and enjoy the good life in Italy. Last thing to mention it is also great for solo travellers as you usually always meet somebody in the common rooms or beautiful library and if not there are still the volunteers which are usually up to spend time with you as well. Pretty sure I will come back again!

A dream-like borgo, so quaint and filled with love by the people who are there. The hostel is like a constellation of different houses and buildings, old-style, rustic and incredibly comfortable. Torre del Colle is very close to many towns and beautiful places to visit. It's a must-stop if you're traveling through Umbria.

Like other Ostello Bellos, the staff and facilities are first-rate. It is in a tiny medieval village of 15 inhabitants, a few km from Bevagna. You can self-cater in the kitchen, they have a barbecue area with a small pool, but there is no supermarket and only one resto, with dishes from €11-€15. However, there are markets and restos in Bevagna.

A tiny little place surrounded by endless hills and beautiful things - this hostel is a perfect getaway to relax, unwind, and enjoy the quiet.
Ostello Bello hostels are always great and this one is unique - set in a tiny village (population: 15), it’s a 40-minute walk or 5-minute drive into Bevagna where you can find whatever you need (food, drinks, gelato). Rent a bike or bring a car to get to Assisi and enjoy the sights and history, or walk the countryside until you find a wine tasting room.
The hostel is well equipped: the beds are comfy, the showers are hot, the pasta and veggies are free, and the staff is amazing. Augustín, Natalie, Airida, and Duilio all made me feel welcomed and part of the Ostello Bello family. Grazie mille <3

It was the most magical weekend ever. The town is tiny, can't be more than 20 people and it is is high up. It looks like a medieval village with 360 degrees view of the italian country side. Be warned getting there is hard if you don't drive. If you take the train to Foligno (closest station) it is about a 3 hour walk or 30 euro 20 minute taxi because buses pass 1 a day. But it is a 100% worth it.

Amazing place with unique rooms and breathtaking view. The staff is very kind and helpful and the owner is very friendly. It’s very lively for such a small village but very calm and relaxing also. Totally recommend to visit.

Amazing location withdrawn from the tourist hubs of Italy. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating the entire time. If I hadn't have already booked further accommodation I would have extended my stay
