Ristorante GELSO Nero

The restaurant was recommended by our Sicilian host and we've no regret trying it. The food are cooked for perfection! We ordered cold mix seafood salad with green and their home-made fresh pasta with pork ragu. The seafood was fresh, and the pasta was so yummy. They even served fresh sour dough bread.

The location of this restaurant is about 5 minutes walk down the road from Savoca centre. The panoramic view to the sea is unbeatable. Worth a visit.

Such an amazing service, good food and nice evening spent. The restaurant is at the entrance of Savoca so make sure you don’t pass it.

Possibly a best kept secret or our good fortune, as we were able to get a table in this small charming cliff-side restaurant with amazing views that are only outdone by their sensational dishes. An incredible dining experience that we will surely find our way back to . I strongly recommend all who read this do the same. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh and delicious. Enjoy!

Best pasta alla norma of the entire trip! We also absolutely loved the bruschetta on crunchy, fresh bread. Ambience can not be beat overlooking the country side of Savoca. We went to lunch after our godfather tour here and a wine pairing was included, where we were served delicious Sicilian wines. Service was top notch and our group thinks this was the best lunch of the trip!

When in Sicily, you cannot miss this restaurant. Yes, travel from Taormina if necessary. The view, the ambiance, the team, the food…oh my god, the food.

Perfect lunch. Products are local and fresh, service is smart and the terrace offers a beautiful point of view. On top of that huge selection of wines. A to go restaurant if you are nearby. Considering the quality price is good. I took carne di maila from Sicilian mountains with chocolate sauce it was teasty and juicy! With a glass of good nero d'Avola.

From the time we arrived to the time we left it was a most delightful experience, delicious food cooked to perfection and prepared a little different to other restaurants, staff very accommodating and friendly definitely a must if visiting/ staying in Savoca! Well done!!

We stumbled upon this little gem, the food is incredible. Probably the best we've had in our entire two weeks in Sicily. We ended up eating here two nights and both times it was exceptional. Everything was perfect. Service impeccable, wine list is excellent, views beautiful and they play very nice music too. Deeeeelish. I wish every meal was like dining here. 🙌 I think its very good value and fair prices too.

I came here with my girlfriend for a late dinner. The guys there were incredibly friendly and we felt very welcomed! The food was just delicious and prepared with much love for the details.

There's no faulting this restaurant. Everything is perfect: the hosts were really nice, the view is awesome, the food is cooked to perfection and the playlist is very nice. Highly recommended! If you visit Savoca, put this restaurant on your list for lunch or dinner (or both). If you are nearby, make a detour. And visit beautiful Savoca while you're there.

We loved dining here! The waiter was one of the friendliest in Sicily, the food delicious, the view and atmosphere of the place are lovely. From the many restaurants we visited during our 2 weeks stay here, this restaurant is in our top 3. Thank you Ristorante Gelso Nero!

Excellent meal, amazing view and very friendly service.

Very courteous service and it really stands out. The restaurant is very clean and tastefully decorated. The food is very tasty. The cold cuts and cheese starter was tasty and pleasant served with Sicilian honey. The smoked fish starter was equally good, however, wouldn't have loved to have more of the fine tasting raw prawn. Main courses were cooked to perfection. The grilled toma cheese on the steak was interesting but the Beef involtini were a hit amongst most of us. As for the desserts, the Tartufo and the setteveli al cioccolato are perfect for chocoholics. The setteveli pistacchio and Cassatella were tasty too. Highly recommended

we were there in September during a short visit to Savoca. the good taste of the wonderfull meal and warm welcome we had there still raise a smile
