Locanda Angelica

My partner and I are just back from a wonderful stay at Locanda Angelica. The stunning surroundings, peaceful garden, lovely cottage and last but not least the hospitality of the entire family made our holiday a very special one!
Already when booking directly with the accommodation the daughter Ariana has been very helpful and accommodating.
We had initially booked for one week and decided after a few days to extend our stay here, as it was simply everything we wished for.
We were traveling with our dog, and he was welcomed warmly by the whole family who have dogs themselves. A splendid place to bring your furry friend!
Our stay was in November and we were blessed with lovely weather on most days, but even rainy days were enjoyable inside our cosy cottage.
The cottages are well equipped with modern furnishing. Also the food at the restaurant on site is great (many options for a gluten free diet if applicable for you)!
The area around Giarratana has as lot to offer, especially if you enjoy the outdoors: forests, rivers, canyons and lovely villages are reachable in less than an hour by car. November is a quiet time in Sicily, and we very much enjoyed the peace and quiet at this time of year.
We discovered a little paradise, and will definitely be back!!

Locanda Angelica was the most welcome place to us in the countryside after weeks of travelling Sicily and crowds of tourists.

Our apartment was spacious,very clean,very well equipped kitchen and loved the stonework throughout the property.
The highlight was the restaurant, so close by and again amazing stonework.
Beautiful family and great home cooking.
We did many day trips to Ragussa, Ortiga and a special place called Maszaremi on the coast.
Drove from here one hour to catch the boat to Malta.
Ten minutes from here in Guirantana there is a cute little patisserie for great coffee and crossinants.
Called Le Petit cafe.
You need a car to stay in this area.

Visited many times and never been disappointed. The staff are welcoming and the food is of very good quality as well as perfectly cooked. The ambiance is wonderful and friendly although it is large. Welcoming and memorably. Highly recommended for a wonderful evening.

our 2nd time at this restaurant, first time back in 2017. Once again full marks. food is very, very good, portions as well. will surely return if in the area. Keep it up Salvatore and family

Hard to describe, lovely apartment, great quiet location well maintained pool, and the restaurant is brilliant, great food, lovely service we stayed for three nights and unfortunately had the stay cut short but have no hesitation recommending

Hard to find place, but recommended by locals for a very good reason. The location has a very cozy atmosphere and is very well maintained. The food is incredibly good. The pizza Vulcano really made me want to come back to try the rest of the menu.

The staff speaks a little bit of English. This is handy for those usually relying on Google Translate, because you don’t have mobile internet inside the building.

However, be careful when following Google Maps! The (currently) default route from Giarratana leads you over roads that are only accessible with a big 4WD. The right way to get to the restaurant is by taking a right just after leaving Giarratana on the SS194 and then following the signs.

Beautiful, serene and a joy to wake up in. An incredible location from which to explore south east Sicily. The host was extremely warm and helpful. The pool and cottage are immaculate.

What an incredible restaurant! The food is absolutely magnificent and the service was wonderful! Thank you for some of the most memorable meals of our time in Italy.

Peaceful, surrounded by nature, woods & streams in a 300 year old farmhouse to enjoy the absolute best local Sicilian cuisine hosted by gentle, friendly locals......the true essence of Sicily!

Sehr gutes Restaurant mit regionalen Spezialitäten. Trotz abgelegener Lage waren wir während unseres Urlaubs gleich zwei mal hier. Das Restaurant ist auf jeden Fall die Reise wert.

Sono stato a pranzo per Pasqua, e l'esperienza è stata davvero molto buona: il locale è molto carino, ben curato; i piatti che ci sono stati proposti nel menu per la festività sono stati ottimi (antipasti, due assaggi di Primi, un Secondo con agnello in aggiunta, dolce, acqua vino e amaro), ed altrettanto è stato ottimo il cortese ed affabile servizio del personale di sala.
Il luogo in generale merita molto: la riserva di Calaforno era una perla (e speriamo possa tornare ad esserlo).
La Locanda quindi è un buonissimo posto in cui andare, e tornare!

Wij verbleven in cottage: Mirto. We hebben genoten van de rust, de groene omgeving en het zwembad. Het verblijf is van alle gemakken voorzien. Hoewel het buiten 30 graden is hebben we de airco geen 1x aangehad omdat het binnen aangenaam koel was. Het restaurant is top! We hebben heerlijk gegeten. De familie is erg behulpzaam. We hadden hier eigelijk langer willen blijven. Tot snel.

Pranzo. Menù fisso composto da antipasto molto leggero ma con prodotti freschi, 2 assaggi di primi molto buoni, una squisita costata ripiena con contorno, acqua vino caffè amari . Personale molto cortese e disponibile. Ci tornerò

Riunione di famiglia per ferragosto con pochissimo preavviso! Ovviamente sappiamo di andare sul sicuro: conosciamo bene posto e staff, ma devo complimentarmi perché davvero sono stati impeccabili in una giornata difficile. Persino il classico antipasto di salumi non aveva nulla di banale con materie prime di alta qualità e accostamenti perfettamente equilibrati. Una nota particolare per le carni locali che fanno apprezzare le eccellenze a chilometro zero.
