Agriturismo Tenuta San Michele - Etna

We had lunch in this charming place after our tour to Etna - and what an experience it was! Their restaurant serves an exceptionally good and reasonably priced daily menu with a selection of antipasti, pasta, main dish and dessert - complemented with great wines of the place's own vineyard. It would already be enough for 5 stars, and I haven't mentioned the wonderful panorama to the sea in the foothills of Etna. By far my favourite gastronomical experience during my stay in Sicily - grazie!

An absolutely spectacular Agriturism hotel with a pool. The food was wonderful. The scenery was spectacular -set within the Vineyard with Mt. Etna as the backdrop. The excursion up to some craters on Mt. Etna is not to be missed. Highly recommend a stay here (or even just coming to taste their spectacular wines and spumante over a meal). 5 stars

Had a pleasant visit, drinking wine and eating appetizers as part of a guided tour through Sicily through Royal Caribbean. The place is very pretty. I wish we could've spent more time here.

This was a nice excursions to see a local winery at the foot of Mt. Etna. The wine and food is amazing. Coupled with new friends and you will forget you were at dinner for 4 hours. I could have rolled down the hill to the tour bus. The wine they sell is posted in pic.

Not only is the location gorgeous and very well kept, the hospitality is top notch, the food is delicious and the wine exquisite! We have been coming back to this place every year and it never disappoints. The perfect spot for a family or couple’s vacation that is close to Taormina, Mt. Etna and other landmarks on the east coast of Sicily. Highly recommend.

A beautiful place to stay with views of Mt Etna and out to sea. Fantastic amenities. You will not go underfed - the dinner menu was always a sumptuous feast.

Had a great tour and wine tasting. Visited in December, so it was the off season, but still very accommodating and gave a great showing. Loved the variety of wines on offer.

Fantastic place to stay.
Very nice restaurant- for lunch or dinner. Or both.
And - very good wines and very nice people working here.
On top of this - close to many exciting places assuming you have a car.

We stayed here for two nights during the off season in april and discovered a very nice place. We can highly recomment the rooms located at the pool. You can see the ocean on one side of your terasse and the etna on the other end. The breakfast buffet is small and still very good incl. fruits and Croissants. The Dinner with 4 course menu is a highlight. Local food is been served on very high level. The wine is on a solid Level and can be tasted in the shop or during dinner.

Amazing place, so so so nice staff. Restaurant super! Wine amazing too. The apartment was clean and spacious. We also really enjoyed the pool. We were there off season. We imagine the pool even nicer when the pool bar is open. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you for a great stay.

Good dinners and lunches with lots of antipasti choices, although I wasn't so keen on the meat mains As it's a winery, the wine choices are great and not at all expensive! Lunch can be a bit mad and noisy as there are lots of coach parties coming in all the time.

Stylish and reasonably priced rooms if you want to stay overnight, nice views over the hills onto Etna and down towards the sea in the distance. There is a great pool area too.

I'd definitely stay and/or eat there again if I was in the Etna region.

Stunning place, 360 panoramic views all around surrounded with nature all around. The rooms were really clean, cosy and spacious. The complimentary food provided with the room along with the wine were amazing. My only small complaint was that there wasn't hot water on our first day (second was okay) and breakfast was the same on both mornings but it was simply mouthwatering and home made. We did the degustazione (wine tasting) and the food and wine were a great culinary experience and an informative tour overall. Would definitely stay again in the near future. Well deserved 5*

We made reservation for late dinner with selection of wines and wineyard tour which was excelent choice. It was trully great experience! Food is delicious, be prepared for a long feast of extraordinary tastes and better come with empty stomach :) Staff is friendly and helpfull making restaurant's atmosphere nice and laid back. Great local winery with a rarely founded white sparkling wine that equals in deliciousness 😁to a French champagne. They also produce a great red and white wine. They have wine tastings, a restaurant and rooms to stay all with great views! You can buy wines there to take or ship home, along with buying wine in BYOB to drink while you are in Sicily! Definitely recommend !!

Fantastic 2 nights stay beginning of November with our 4 years old daughter, great location, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a fixed menu dinner in the restaurant and the food was very tasty. Great stay with great views!

Lovely vineyard near Taormina with some lovely local wines.
We wound down our tour up and around of Etna with our private guide Roberto with a delicious dinner of local Sicilian specialties paired with their sparkling white and rose, a white and two reds. At sunset no less. Beautiful end to a great day.

Located at the foot of Mount Etna. I recommend this place: amazing pool with view on the wineries and the summit of the Vulcano where you can see if you get lucky the eruption at night, big room and homemade breakfast. The restaurant offers a daily menu where you can try typical local food. Very good value for money.

Amazing place very close to etna. The stuff at the swimming pool (Laura) was super friendly and gave us very good suggestions, at the restaurant (Cristina) gave us the best wine tasting. The rest of the stuff was amazing we will come back. Very recommended!!!

A perfect place for (sparkling) wine and exploration

During our 24 day tour around southern Italy, we wanted to do a winery experience and also find a hotel from which we could explore Eastern Sicily. We found the perfect spot in Tanuta San Michele where we stayed 3 nights.

The vineyards has been in the possession of the same family for 150 years but they started commercial production some 40 years ago. In the midst of the principal vineyard, a building with accomodation and swimming pool has been built and we stayed in a lovely room, which was top notch in every sense. We did a winery tour with the owner and his wife also joined during our wine tasting. Whilst the winery produces a whole range of wines, both red and white, using both local grapes as well as foreign ones such as Cabernet Sauvignon, its sparkling wine selection was outstanding and it's brut, priced at 13 euros, was as close as one can get to real champagne. The same methods as in Champagne is used and the result is nothing but remarkable.

The hotel is close to Etna and also to the cities on the east coast such as Taormina so it is a perfect base for exploring the area.

The only small room for improvement would be the restaurant. We did half board for 3 nights and the food was very similar all three nights so would recommend to eat once there and then seek alternatives outside the property.

All in all a fantastic experience and comes with warm recommendations, both with and without kids

The location is stunning 😍, good wines and grappa. Friendly staff, Claudio was very informative about how the wine production took place on the estate.
