Hotel Mediterranée

This hotel was not plush but it was lovely. Balconies were generous with views out over towards Catania, Etna and the Taormina bay. The pool was such a beautiful setting with a beautiful Mediterranean garden going up the mountainside and sweeping views of the town, bay, coast and Etna.
The room was basic but lovely with a mini bar, seats, everything we needed really and a large window that opened as well as the door out. Huge balcony. Lovely space to relax and read or chill either inside the room or on the balcony.
Gorgeous fresh fruit, salad, cakes, meats and cheese for breakfast. The staff couldn't do enough for you.
Just a few minutes walk down the steps into the main road of town.
We had the best week here and recommend 100%.

My stay at this hotel was like no other! I stayed here for 3 weeks and never felt so much like home. The hotel staff are incredible itself, super nice and hospitality is amazing. My favourite part was the view. At the end of the day it does have a vintage feel but that made me love it even more. Im definitely coming back same time next year. Grazie again to salvo and rosario !

OMG. Best stay ever. Breathtaking views From our balcony, we could see Mt Etna and amazing views of the bay with mega yachts and cruise ships. They have a sister property that you can access their beach from that was amazing too! Great breakfasts and the pool was amazing with bar service. Could not recommend it highly enough.

The hotel is a hidden gem. Perfectly situated on the top, you get the best view of all of Taormina and the whole bay. Make sure you get a sea view room, it’s amazing.

Short walk to the main road, corso Umberto, with shops and restaurants.

The staff is the best, they helped me surprise my sister with a birthday breakfast on our private balcony. They give you the best service and are very attentive.

This hotel also has a sister hotel down on the beach. For only € 7,5, you get transfer down to the beach and return, access to sunbeds and beach towels. How great is that!!
If you don’t want the beach, the hotel also has a swimming pool that is so nice and clean!

I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return when I visit Taormina again!

Wonderful hotel - like stepping back into the 60s - charming, helpful staff and probably the best location in Taormina

I absolutely love this hotel as it's situated right on the sea!! I can hear the waves from my room. My view is in un obstructive total sea to horizon view!! Fabulous. Gorgeous flora all about.... Old hotel but has all the necessary amenities! The beach belonging to the hotel is literally just down past the breakfast & lounging rooms. Great prices also.

Nice location close to all restaurants. The view is amazing. Staff is great. Our baby’s bed was ready when we arrived which is rare. The hotel is 70s style.
To comment on other review:
The AC is good enough in the room, while there is none in the breakfast area.
The breakfast is europeen, so obviously its not as close to what American/Canadian eat but it’s included so whatever just indulge the sweet while you’re there.
It is really in a steep hill, we were there with our stroller but we are in good shape so it was not an issue.But is there any hotel here that are not in a hill?

We stayed here in August 2022 for two nights. The location was very good for going to Corso Umberto. We had a really really beautiful view from our balcony of the sea and Etna. Staff were very friendly and explained everything to us about the area and where to go etc. Room was pleasant and clean. Car Park is small but that there was a car park was useful. Shower is a bit high and not very powerful. Pool looked very lovely though we didn't have time to go and use it. Overall a very lovely stay here.

Spectacular views of the sea, Etna volcano, and city. The staff is very accommodating and happy to recommend restaurants. The rooftop pool and adjoining grotto are scenic and relaxing. Comfortable, quiet, clean rooms. Good breakfast buffet with fresh espresso / coffee, juices, meats, breads and dairy, on a beautiful patio. Solid WiFi. We will definitely visit this hotel again.

A 4 star hotel which has retained its original 60’s charm which adds a definitive quirky element to it. Takes you away to another era and place. Staff are accomodating and the location is fantastic. Close to the main street with car access.

Service and staff first class!!

Very good service from all the staff. We could extend our stay three times with no problems due to cancelled flights. The pool was great and clean.

We loved our stay here. There are swankier hotels in the area, but for the price, this is probably the best option. AMAZING views (get a sea view room, it's worth it), fantastic pool area. 5 min walk to the main street of town and right near the beginning of a trail up to the hilltop village nearby. Good breakfast, free parking... Oh, and a great bonus: free usage of the sister hotel's beach and lounge chairs down in Taormina Mare - which is where we spent our lazy afternoons. Highly recommended.

lovely hotel ideally situated to take advantage of the busy main street of the village. Also for a small charge for a shuttle bus gives you access to its sister hotel and the beach.
