Hotel - Ristorante Open Gate

We absolutely loved our stay at Open Gate! The staff are the friendliest we have encountered on our whole trip throughout Italy - they truly make you feel like family and go above and beyond. The restaurant is great, and they offer many gluten free options (including breakfast). Close walk to beach and easy bus ride to explore the rest of the coast. We will be back!!

We stayed here for a wedding and had the best experience! The hotel was very clean and really well maintained, and the staff was top notch!! They were supper accommodating to our late arrival, both traveling in from out of town and late coming back from the wedding. Not to mention just how cute this place is! I would absolutely recommend The Open Gate hotel to anyone traveling to Praiano!

I walked here for breakfast every morning from my air bnb. The service is amazing, Sonya, and Daniella are soooo nice. I did not stay in the hotel. Every morning there was a gorgeous breakfast buffet coffee included for 25, or a menu to order from. They are so accommodating. The views are beautiful, and it’s right by the bus stop in the middle of Praiano. The food is so good and they even have eggs!!! Yay, my American heart was happy!! A large spread to choose from, this place is worth stopping at. 10/10

Wow!!! All I can say is everyone absolutely needs to book this hotel. From the second you walk in, the hospitality and the charm is above and beyond.
Pascale, Daniela and family go above and beyond what you are expecting your stay to be in the Amalfi coast. The rooms are top tier clean, with a beautiful view. Everyone is so responsive in suggestion and what you need. There were a couple nights where we wanted to just stay in and go to the connected Open Gate restaurant below, and the charm and service feeds into the food and experience along the beautiful Mediterranean Sea dinner view. The location is between Positano and Amalfi with great suggestions and directions. Praiano has a perfect little charm and beaches to add if you don’t want the crowds and the wait. Look no further and book this location before it fills up and you miss out on the experience of a lifetime.

My wife and I had a tremendous stay at Hotel Open Gate. Pasquale, Daniela and the rest of the staff were amazing and so helpful. The views from the hotel balcony are phenomenal. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Fantastic 2day stay! Last-minute laundry inquiry resulted in mine being done and folded within two hours! Great friendly staff, best views and wonderful food. 15 minute walk to swimming spot,very romantic. Will be back, thank you!!

Very nice location and we lucked out with the beach. Shuttle stop was right in front of the hotel. Peaceful and convenient. Breakfast was amazing. The staff were super nice and caring. Only imperfection was the Wifi as it was frequently disconnected.

We had an amazing stay at Open Gate. They have a shuttle bus to Positano from the hotel, great views from the room and amazing food served for breakfast and dinner. Customer service also exceeded expectations. Highly recommend!

Great waterfront location, outstanding restaurant, super friendly staff. The only downside is it's right next to the road, but this is not uncommon in the area and we didn't notice the noise except during dinner.

BEST HOTEL on the Amalfi Coast!!!! A real family run hotel with beautifully quaint rooms, food, and service. The breakfast in the morning is superb. The real gem of this hotel are the views and the family running the show - their hospitality is incredible and they work very hard to give the most outstanding experience. Located very close to local bus and SITA bus

Very friendly and cozy place to stay with the best price you can find on that area. If you’re looking for a nice and clean place with a great staff and very good food as I mean it, the food is amazing. Also the breakfast, which one for the price of Positano we can go to this place with less than 20 minutes, get the boss and get to Positano. We had a great experience with them

We've been in Italy for over a week now and this little gem was an absolute pleasure to behold. We sat outside with uninterrupted views over the sea. The food was absolutely beautiful and the service was great. My attempts at Italian were warmly received, and when we asked for advice on the best way to return to our accommodation, we were offered options. We walked for around 40 minutes to get there, but a 1 euro bus ride and a 5 minute walk got us home. Buonissimo, belissimo open gate!!! Your hospitality made my day!!

Couldn’t rate this place more highly, wished we had stayed longer. Incredible views, clean rooms, well located, great restaurant downstairs, lovely staff and walking distance to beaches. When I told them I was coeliac at dinner they made me a yummy gluten free meal and then at breakfast I didn’t even say anything and they remembered I was coeliac then brought out a basket of gluten free snacks for me - croissants biscuits and everything!

Amazing stay! The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The views from your balcony and restaurant are absolutely breathtaking 😍 The food at the restaurant was also delicious! Try the linguine with shrimp and the local specialty - homemade pasta with seafood. Both so yummy! Would definitely come back again!

Location was great. There is a shuttle bus that takes you back and forth to Positano which was really convenient. Our room had a amazing view and balcony.

We did not stay in the hotel - stopped to eat at the restaurant on our drive shopping the Amalfi Coast. Food was excellent, restrooms were clean and modern, and their seating across the road is a perfect spot to enjoy the beauty of the coast while you eat. Highly recommend

I love, love this place! Pasquale and Daniela are lovely people, courteous and accommodating. Clean elegant rooms, fabulous breakfast included, great indoor and outdoor dining, and every room has a large balcony with AMAZING VIEWS OF THE SEA, near the beach, and free parking. Oh, and very reasonably priced. If you go the amalfi coast stay in Praiano and the Open Gate Hotel.

We are here on our final night in Italy, and it did not disappoint!! Everything we ate was delicious and so high quality— especially the homemade pasta and homemade gnocchi!! The calamari was also super fresh and some of the best we had. Don’t sleep on this place, I promise it’s worth a stop!!

This is an excellent cliff side restaurant. Food was amazing. View is great. Staff is very polite & helpful. It’s very affordable. They didn’t charge anything extra like service charge or anything. Charging such extra service fee is standard practice along Amalfi restaurants with very bad & mostly rude service. This is first time, we loved the staff behaviour. Loved it. Highly recommended if you are driving from Positano to Amalfi. This makes great stop for lunch or dinner. Thank you for this beautiful experience.

My husband and I did not stay in the hotel, but we ate at the restaurant twice. The view is impeccable and the food is delicious. The first time I got a fish soup dish and my husband got gnocchi. The second time I got the seafood pasta and he got pizza. All of the dishes were sizable portions, very flavorful, and the pasta from my seafood dish was homemade. Yum yum yum!! Everything was so fresh! Reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend.
