Osteria dei Battibecchi

This is Italy. This is what it looks like in old movies. A simple little table out side on the terrace. We had a terrific Caprese Salad that was perfect for hot and tired walkers. The pasta dishes were incredible. English is no problem here. Perfect little traditional spot. The olive oil and other condiments were also very good.

Great location not far from the centre and the tomb of Dante.
Food was delicious, especially cheese plate, piadina and a chicken breast with potatoes.
Service was great, price ratio fine.

Delightful find in Ravenna for lunch. Great food and fabulous waitress Allegra was knowledgeable and fun.
Great setting out of the busy roads.

Visited there restaurant on our family trip through north of Italy and there food was delicious! Mum had gnocchi, dad misto di carne ai ferri which both enjoyed immensely. Plus the deserts were to die for! Local, home made cuisine at its best! 😋

Was one of the Osteria d Italia suggestions for Ravenna so I had to try it. Decided on lunch and it was excellent. The host speaks good English, the menu is all local wine list covers all Italy . My main was Amazing Soft fresh cheese served with caramelized figs. So delicious. I also had a small tortellini dish also exceptional. I didn't have many full meals in Ravenna as Aperitivo ruled but this was outstanding. Put it on your list.

Everything was good, from local dishes, to wines and desserts. The piadina served as bread is a nice local touch!

The food was terrific. It’s a Must. We had a wonderful experience. The people were very friendly and we had the best tagliata di manzo. Everything was delicious! We picked the food from the suggestions from the waiter :)

The most delicious meal, fantastic service and wait-staff advice. Risotto porchini, polenta Ragu, goats cheese with figs, and chocolate and orange cake. Topped off with the waiters recommended bottle of Sangiovese superior Oddone. 10/10. Price, service and food. We are eating here again this week. Outstanding.

Lovely ragu sauce and great quality wine by the glass. Open until midnight so handy if you arrive late at night.

Amazing meal and service and the best piadina ever!!! And the little piazza is delightful and away from the tourist noise! A lot of local clientele which is a warranty for great quality and consistency. And to top it all, a very nice and welcoming team! What’s not to like? A great find!

Hidden in a courtyard just off the piazza del Popolo, this restaurant provides a great dining experience. The selections of pastas and mains is excellent, and the service was quite good.
Try the Cappellitti in Brodo, broth with an exquisitely filled pasta.
There is seasonal seating in the courtyard.

Great food experience - porcini risotto, Mascarpone, local vines and liquors are "must". Very genuine place with great service and food. Don't forget to book a table - it's very busy every night.

Excellent food, nice outdoor seating. Reservations required unless you get there very early or are very lucky. They will, however, try to squeeze a couple people when possible. After Fish Market this was our close-second favorite.

Lovely spot with tasty meals that are less expensive than most in the area. The tables outside are great, and the staff was very kind and patient with our language shortcomings.

Lovely osteria with a good amount of shaded outdoor seating on a quiet side street. Food was very good & prices reasonable. Worth seeking out.

Absolutely loved this place! Even though we hadn't made a reservation on a busy Saturday right after Valentine's day they gave us a reservation to come back at 22h and enjoy a lovely dinner. The lasagna was lovely, but mainly the meat.... yummie! I would love to come back here if I return to Ravenna. Osteria dei Battibecchi gives an original feel of an Osteria, combined with great food and excellent wines.

We loved this place, it was simple and delicious food, expertly prepared and presented in a very relaxed, cozy atmosphere. There weren't any tourists around when we had our lunch, seemed to be mostly local business people. We had an excellent handmade taglierini pasta with fresh porcini that was rich, earthy and loaded with the locally wildcrafted fungus. Grilled vegetables, piadina flat bread, mixed salad with arugula and radicchio...all unpretentiously direct, fresh and good. Full thumbs up for an authentic regional meal for a reasonable price.

Best to get a reservation, or show up early with a small party.

We loved every aspect of this cozy restaurant in the heart of the city. Service was great, friendly and very pleasant, exceptional food with differnt daily choices.
Overall the best experience we had in Ravenna.
