Cable Car - Mazzarò Taormina

Easy way to travel from Taormina city center down to the beach area, and back again if you wish.

Fare is 3 euro/pp for one way or 6 euro/pp with a return trip. Cars run constantly, so you never have to wait more than 5-10 minutes.

Masks are required now, which is June of 2022. Things may change soon.

Beautiful views of the coast as you travel up or down.

Goes in every 15minutes in peak season and costs 6eur/person back and forth. Really easy way of transport to Taormina beaches.

After walking down from the town to the beach ( it’s a long way!) we decided to get the cable car back up ! Only 3 euros each and no queuing despite the beaches being busy . 5 minutes and we’re back at the top , great value for money , the walk would have killed us and we’re both fit .

5 minute journey. Getting you from beach to Taormina and vice versa for €6 return. Best to sit in first or last of the 4 gondolas to get the best uninterrupted views.

Clean and relatively fast, just some more carts needed during high season

Efficient and effective way to avoid many steps down and-especially!-up from the beach to the town. Runs until late. 3 Euros one way. Nice views. Takes no longer than about 5 minutes. 10

Easy ticking experience, hopped straight on, it was about 9.30am. Travel time approx 3 minutes. Cable car ride slightly unpleasant due to lack of air flow however is very quick. Toilets free to use at bottom but none at top.

Quick way to the beach, but there is a queue during peak time

It’s the best if not the only way to get to Taormina. The queue looks massive but moved fairly quickly. We tried going by car as we were dreading the queue but ended up going around in circles looking for parking. Then we had to go back and use the Funivia.

Great way to access Taormina town from down close to the beach. We found all the popular places easily right after getting off the cablecar. Price is also reasonable.

One way ticket cost 3 euro but the way is amazinf

If you want to go there it takes you there. Interesting enough for a tourist attraction, cheap enough to be public transport.

Lifesaver for those who dread climbing up the city. Beautiful view while going up/down on the cable car.. recommend

Very useful when you need to go up to Taormina. We liked to go down by foot.

Short but sweet ride.Sure beat walking up a couple hundred steps.
